Is this a "bug", OR, is this a new wrinkle in the DRM madness? I have a funny hunch that this is not a bug, and is functioning as it was intended to function. See this post...

After further review, this seems to be a bug, as the "User Restrictions" mention the same restrictions that every other game has. So, one should be able to play this game on another console, as long as it is connected to LIVE. Which I cannot do. Can someone look into this?

Mine does the same thing.  I'm on my 3rd system, which really sucks for the downloaded materials fiasco that MS refuses to fix.

I'm really getting tired of this... why doesn't MS do somethig about it?  In order to protect "their" property from being mistreated, they have hosed the consumer that has paid their fee to use it.  And yet, we can't use it the way it's supposed to be able to be used.... Hmmmm.. thanks MS!

Yea, basically the trials are locked to either the original console or your gamertag. and if you're not online with your gamertag, they won't work on your new console.

this isn't really a problem for me, since i'm always online, but if I had an intermittent connection or something, I would be pressuring microsoft to fix it.

i'm told that people who have made a big enough deal out of it have had MSP credited to their account so they could re-buy the games ... of course there's nothing stopping them from buying totally new and different games =)

i own 26 live arcade gamess
23 work fine on my second console when loged into live

3 dont they show up as trials

no amount of redownloading will fix this
its a bug in the game's that microsoft need to fix

yeah this happened to my arcade games and videos, i just redownloaded them and they work fine now online and off, except for outpost kaloki and for some strange reason i had two dooms lol

I don't think you quite understand fully. The Sega games are ONLY playable on the FIRST console that they are downloaded to. It doesn't matter if you are online on another console or not, you cannot play the game, period! This is a different issue than the "other" arcade and PDLC instances, which CAN be played on ANY console as long as the origional gamertag is logged on to Live. Like I said in an earlier post, the "User Restrictions" mention nothing about the games ONLY being available on ONE CONSOLE.

yea, I realize this is another issue.

wouldn't re-buying the games on the new console work around the problem?

as I said Xbox support has credited MSP in the past to allow you to do this.

Sure, re-buying would allow my wife to play Sonic on my console in the livingroom, however, she purchased the game on her console in the bedroom, and has no plans to repurchase the game. Just wonder why this was not mentioned in the "fine print?" I have been through the refund process, and I can tell you that MS is not going to give my wife points so she can play the game on my console.

repaired consoles alot of the time now they transfer the dlc

try redownloading sonic from your download history
it should be locked down to your new console

I have the same problem... had to buy a new console due to defective one... now Sonic and Golden Axe are Trials even when I am signed into Live and re-downloading doesn't fix it!  PATCH THE GAMES, SEGA!!!!

So M$! Answer Our Question and Repair it. I also am another that has sonic on trials. I Sold my old xbox bought a new one and now i cant play Sonic. Its anoying that i paid for it and now im left in the out beacuse its restriction. So Fix The Problem As Long as we arent trying to transfer for a friend to use give us back our game(s).

Not to my knowledge. I downloaded Speedball 2 to another console, and when I was prompted to choose a storage device, I chose my MU. It showed as a trial, and not the full version. I then chose the consoles' HDD as the storage sevice, and I had full access to the game.

I have the same exact problem... it shows up as a full game in the "Games Library", but when I actually am in the game, it always says unlock full game! Keep in mind I am online during all this. I've tried deleting and redownloading it.. doesn't work.

Both my SEGA games are doing it Sonic and Streets Of Rage 2 it's defo a bug cause my other 5 games are working perfectly and they where purchased from my 1st console as it was sent in for repair and they sent me a new as it couldn't be fixed.

I get this problem as well, I even formatted my Harddrive thinking it was a gameprofile problem, this is my second xbox console after my last one blew up, and now I cant play the games I paid for ?
