Kaos listening!

According their site (frontlines.com) Kaos is working on a patch to address some issues we are having on the 360. Also I heard on a podcast that Chat will be one of the works. Even Kaos says on their site they are reading every forum post on frontlines.com and listening to us gamers on what we would like to see be tweaked. I think thats cool aleast. Patch is due very soon.

I still find this game alot of fun! Especially Solar farm! Awesome. When you form a squad that has a bunch of good guys that work together to move the frontline is really awesome. Im glad I bought it.

Can you post your source?  I saw Kaos say the same thing on a thread and a Podcast, 4 weeks ago.  I would just like to know if your info is OLD....

We are very close to fixing some of the ranked server issues. We will update you shortly as we are testing some fixes now.

We are also adding over 100 additional servers over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you delisef. It really helps the moral of the gamers when you guys come on and at least give an update of what's going on. There's a lot of frustrated gamers here.

Thanks Frank for the update! (for those that dont know, Delisef is the GM of Kaos Studios)

Dayum....+100!  Holy Crap...even if half of those were for the PC, thats awesome news!

I urge you to please provide a daily update however concerning the server issues, to keep everyone in the loop.  Even a brief update from you is VERY reassuring.  I know things must be hectic over there, but the 5 minutes a day to give an update I think will be worth thousands of $$$ in numerous ways.

Regards,

Dan

+1.  I'm not even looking for specific details (although would be nice).  Just "Hey guys, we know X, Y, and Z are still issues and we are working on them.  Just because they are working for some players, doesn't mean we don't acknowledge that the issues remain."

Re: Kaos listening!

We have some 50 players servers up, we are adding more ongoing. They are typically filled though.

We want to tell you everything we are working on, but we try to release information when we are confident the fix works.

For example, we are working on proximity chat, squad leader to squad leader chat as well as vehicle chat at the moment, but until the fix is 100%, we dont want to promise a date.

Out-freaking-standing! You've made my day!!! Just acknowledging that those changes are in the works and not just rumors is a HUGE thing for us. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Wow... just wow. Think of all of the problems with open team chat, seriously think about it, then come back.

first make sure when you get on a server it has near to full green bar ping, then when you spawn wip out the pistol and shoot something near by, the bullet richochette will tell what (if any) lag you'll be dealing with.

haha Delisef is playing Army of Two!, I guess you want something new after working on a vid  for 4 years.

Thanks for comin on here and keepin us updated. Im stunned to see a response from a GM. Awesome stuff. Great customer service! Keep it up. I heard you on Major Nelsons podcast a few weeks ago. Great interview and thats what got me excited about this game. Im really enjoying it alot! Glad I bought it. Now Im buggin my friends to get it.

The chat issue really doesnt bother to much, but hey thats cool. But if it seems to much to get working properly I would be happy with a fix where everyone can just chat in the lobby before and after a match!  That would be cool.  Also maybe tweak hit detection alittle. All in all I love this game!!!! Thanks again Frank.

Not to sound like devil's advicate, but why are these updates coming now and not during testing...  I know it's large team battles and it's a fairly new concept, but would larger testing time had been able to pick up these problems even if it meant a longer wait time?

BTW going off of threads that have been posted, still want this game though ^_^

Might be because it's hard to test worldwide connections through hundreds of offline servers offsite with thousands of users from the comfort of your own studio.

I think my only question...is..will the proximity chat....allow you to hear and talk to the enemy team if your close enough? ( i can imagine all the smack-talk going on if so...lol)

Open chat will significantly increase bandwidth usage, the lag would be phenomenal

thats what i do mate, i only ever join servers with green pings, it usually starts off ok, but a minute or so into the game i fire a single bullet at a wall from about 2 feet away, n it takes roughly one n a half seconds to arrive. not good enough, n its a shame cos i love the game. i think i'll stay on halo n cod until the patch, n if that doesnt sort it, a trade is in order

Re: Kaos listening!
I'm not sure using up bandwidth for more chat is as good as it first sounded if it will (probably) cause more lag issues.

All I want is some kind of pregame lobby to either form sqauds (preferably with my friends) or at least be able choose which team to go on. It's annoying to enter a game then look at the teams, then spend the rest of the game hoping you can change team at some point.

Good post! I agree with it. That would be nice. Also pregame lobby chat would be fine for me...then back to the normal squad only chat is fine I believe. Im for anything that will keep lag down.

Yeah, it would be nice to have full lobby chat and then switch it to squad chat (hopefully 6 people in the future) with the ability for squad leaders to talk. I know many desire it but I have no desire for full team open chat; I like the squad based operations.
