I actually guessed Alan Wake would move into 2009. The huge town with glorious graphics and artistic detail obviously require alot of time for polish.

You know remedy though, it'll be done when it's done.

I can't even remember how long ago this game was actually announced, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the first few "next-gen" games (at the time) revealed.  The development must be troubled.

Well, maybe it will be one of the release titles for the next X box console .

Recent  rumors are indicating that the next x box might already arrive in 2010.

Quite a while back I also read an article that was placed on several gaming sites that one game was already in development for the next  x box while it was initially in development for the 360.

Wouldn't surprise me if Alan Wake game is that title.

I'm assuming that for actual development to begin, the specs of the next Xbox would have had to be confirmed and devkits already produced so that developers could get their engines etc. up and running on the system to get themselves acclimatised for producing bigger and better titles for it.  No offence, but I think that article was complete BS unless they're just conceptualising the game rather than actually coding anything.  I think MS are maybe throwing a few ideas around but I'm willing to bet they're nothing close to any final decisions, the 360 has been out for less than three years after all and still has, IMO, another 18 months to two years before it really starts becoming seriously dated.

To be fair to Remedy, Alan Wake is seemingly miles down the road in terms of development and there's stuff on YouTube dating back to 2006 in which the game looks absolutely awesome... wonder what's taking so long?

I think there should be a race: see what comes out first, Duke Nukem Forever or Alan Wake.

What a joke this game has become. They most likely cannot make the game they naively thought they could, now they are in limbo. Why did anyone think the people that brought you Max Payne could make anything of substance. I am sorry for sounding cynical but come on already, sh*t or get off the pot. I bet they will never release it or if they do the game will get very negative reviews and everyone invloved will lose his or her job (as they should).

Well said man, they dont even release new info. Why would they do that? Because they have nothing to show for in 2 years, and the game has been developed now for almost 3 years.  Go die remedy employees.

ok lets wait another year while they dont say nothing on development, if this game does not come out this year im not gonna even pre order this game ill wait and see what the reviews are gonna be for whenver it comes out. I hate it when a game looks good and you want it, but it never comes out. Stupid Remedy.

@fiddy, yeah i'd be pretty upset too if it doesn't come.  i've been looking forward to it.  my guess is that it won't make it this year :(

sometimes a game being delayed is a blessing in disguise. really, when it comes down to it, would you rather play an inferior game earlier, or a superior game later? I'd rather the game studio take their time to make sure the game is in fact the way they want it, bug and exploit free, before it ships.

Isn't just a bit odd that there hasn't been so much as a new screenshot shown of this game since 2006?  That isn't asking a great deal, and it wouldn't spoil anything.   I'm beginning wonder if Remedy is having problems getting this game to run on the 360 properly.   Something is not right, that's for sure.   

These guys should be running out of money for their project because you can't just keep pushing the date back because you aren't making profit from when the game should've been released.

Alan Wake might not get delayed.  However, if we don't see any new previews of it come E3, then it definitely will get delayed.
