Since when do people buy Battlefield games for the single player?
Michael Vick deserves a 2nd chance. People get more upset about killing dogs then abortion. Please, PETA's a joke.

He doesn't have any online achievements so he either hasn't tried multiplayer yet or doesn't have live. Idiot buys a multiplayer game and complains about the single player being too short. The single player even on normal was longer than GoW and CoD4 campaigns.

FAIL!

****** edit:

He seems to have played at least one match.

* THE GAME *

You just lost it ;)

Man you need to learn the joys of valium.

Your right that the single player campaign is slighly longer than GoW and COD4, but all these games have pathetically short single player games.. FPS single players campaigns have become an absolute joke.

Calling the person an idiot because he bought a game that advertises a single player campaign is just juvenile at best.  Grow up kid.

Ok so it's not worth buying because your lazy a$$ can sit on the couch for 2 days straight? Of course these games nowadays aren't long especially the single player campaigns. More focus is drawed away from single player to imrpove and expand multiplayer. Something that barely existed for consoles 5 years ago. A dvd can only hold 4.7Gb of data. Yearly graphics imrpove, the sound imrpoves and so does the multiplayer. Making large based games would now need a Blu Ray disc. A dvd just doesn't cut it anymore. The game was lengthy enough for me and there's lots of fun in the multiplayer department. Maybe you are just the one having issues.

We call it HAVING NO LIFE. If you did have a life you wouldn't have finished the game in 2 days and you wouldn't be ranting here right now about how short it is. You can do either 1: Return the game and GTFO. 2: Just GTFO and forget that this game even exists so we won't have to play a moaner online. I still don't understand why people expect so much from games nowadays. I guess it's just you teen kids that can't learn to be happy with what they have. Typical behaviour for our century.

Dude you're forgetting about the online, its the only reason why you would buy the game instead of renting it, if you bought the game just to beat single player in 5 houres you should have rented it.

That's kind of a strange thing to say.  I've found single player games, especially FPS's to have gone way down hill in their campaigns and length.  I was surprised that so many people expect so little from games nowadays that a 6 hour campaign like COD4 is supposed to be good, when it's just damn short.

Before you continue with your condescending idiocy that anyone that isn't satisfied with current games must be a kid, I owned pong and a 2600 to date myself.

I have to disagree, i think the story is a lot better. The multiplayer is a lot different but i like COD more. Maybe thats just cause im used to it. Once they release more game types maybe i will change my mind.

Yes and we call that dual layer dvd's. I don't need a historical lesson about five years ago. My point is clear. People always moan. People have no patience whatsoever. The future is coming, blu ray is coming. But people expect everything too soon. They expect a game that's 10 times longer then what we have now. It's *** impossible to fit it all on a dvd. When will people understand.

All we can do is wait it out and see how blu ray makes it's progress then we can start complaining about getting longer games. As of now this is all we have. People should just accept the fact that game developers are trying to fit everything on a small scaled disc (dvd). People should learn to accept that we aren't 100 years ahead of our time and live with it. Developing games has become much more complicated then let's say 15 years ago. Especially because of OUR expectations.

That's because nowadays game developers are focussing on quality rather then quantity. What would you rather have? A game that seems pretty short but action packed very well? Or a lenghty boring campaign that just drags you along because developers ran out of ideas. It's a mere example.

DVDs can hold 9 gigs of data (dual layer) thats why the technical term for them is DVD-9s, Microsoft didn't go with HD DVDs and Blu Ray disks for gaming because they said "game devs will continually learn to find better methods of compression to store thier games onto DVD-9s" Look at GTA san andreas it just barely fit onto a dvd. Now look at elder scrolls 4 and GTA 4 both huge games and they fit onto that same disk. So the point is this: hardware and formats dont need to change the way the developers need to utilize it does. But that is where DLC comes in, hey can't fit it onto the disk? Offer it for DL on the market place problem solved.

No there are literally xbox 360 games that have 4 dvds to them....sorry you might actually admit that you were wrong, not that i think you are mature enough to do that looking at your previous 'holier than thou' posts.

I disagree that game developers are focusing on quality.  What I've seen is games getting dumbed down in every genre with shorter and shorter campaigns, that contain less story but more eye candy.  Graphics are nice, but they don't make a good game.

People seem to think 'oooo shiny' means quality.

DLC is indeed a way or a fashion of adding extra content to a game that otherwise wouldn't fit onto a disc anymore. DLC is also used for after development. They can compress games now for the DVD format but how long will it last? They will have to find another source once we hit the next gen Xbox. Games will ask much more capacity considering the engine of a console will be capable of generating much more polygons etc.

The more they try to compress the less content we will have for the future unless it's all via DLC but most people will neglect and deny that. I wouldn't like my games to come as a download either for the future especially of the risk of losing the content and what not... I believe that they should commence the future investigations towards blu ray. It is the future. And if MS could get their hands on blu ray they would. Ok it's new technology, much has to be learned. But that's how we have to develop to ensure the future of gaming. Who knows that one fantastic looking level of a game in the future could easily take up 5 gigs because of the ammount of polygons, bitrates....

That's all i am saying. Games are indeed short nowadays but i don't think that people should blame the devs. Devs like Fourzerotwo do their best to help their customers and give them as much as possible.

Yes, i own lost oddysey but that isn't a solution either. I actually hated it but the devs didn't have another chance if they wanted to fit all that data for the game. I like my games to come on 1 disc. It's easier and simple, no switching discs etc.
