I just found that Shadowrun can now be played online on the xbox 360 with a live silver account, I am guessing that this is due to the fact that Windows Live is now free. Someone with this game for the 360 should create a silver account and try to get into an online match to see if it works for this game as well. Might work for all cross platform games, I only have Shadowrun for the 360 so I am unable to test this.

Its good that they are doing that for silver members. if u can play for free on comp. you should also play free on live! only games for windows games though

That's pretty cool, but too bad there are only a few GFWL (Games for Windows Live) games that are cross playform. And if its only cross platform games, then its only Shadowrun, Uno, Universe at War I believe.

It's not if the game was released on multiple platforms, but if they can play together.

IE, in Shadowrun you have 360 and PC players playing together, as with Universe at War, etc

That's as far as I can tell at least.

Exactly.  Its not that you can get online for all games, just games that can be played between the 360 and Windows Live.  We will see if this is correct by the end of the weekend.  All you have to do is try and play on a game that isn't able to be played across the two platforms.

Well, the wifey has a silver account, but she is unable to play any of the games she's tried - "Puzzle Quest", "Catan", or even "Uno". We don't have "Shadowrun", so we couldn't test that...

omg i dont think its only cross platform games work because my friend who has silver i saw online today it saied he was playing online in cod4 on pipeline and i figured at was a glitch er sum but maybe it wasnt......*dramatic music plays*

It appears it's not only working with Windows Games. My brother has a Silver account, and I can still play the Social Playlist in Halo 3, and if I choose a Ranked Playlist, it says it is restricted if you don't have Xbox Live Gold. And this means about 50% of Halo 3's online is avaivable from Silver. I Don't know if this is something that just have happend for me, but if someone else could check too?

Maybe when the new 'Xbox Live Experience', that will be when they make all gaming free to all players? Maybe?
