I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I exchanged the disc and I still have this problem. I don't think it's an overheating problem -- I sent in the console for red ring of death repair only a few months ago. My 360 doesn't crash in any other game.

Does anyone else have this problem?

yeah i'm pretty sure its a crash in the game.

Do either of you use a cooling system?  Maybe it IS an overheating problem, and it just so happens that Madden 09 generates more heat (more DVD reading than other games?)

Crashed within minutes of my first preseason game, I was able to play an online game through though. EA does it again. My friend is reporting the same problem....

Mine crashed too after only about 10 mins, but my roommate was up all night playing Lost Odyssy so I dunno.

I'm not using the cooling system, my console is well ventilated. Just more glitchy EA games...

its not overheating the xbox is running cool.........its just a crash bug in madden at certain points of the game...

Damn this is really making me think twice about going to pick it up now...

me too...I was gonna snag it after work here in a few hours...but now Im not so sure

Sorry to hear the game may be stopping for you guys. Have you guys made sure the game disk did not appear to be dirty or damaged? Have you all already tried exchaging your game disks to see if a new copy exhibits the same issue?

I see that you mentioned that your console may be overheating, so have you tried moving the console to another location or making sure the vents are not blocked?

I used to have the same problem with Mlb 2k8. It would freeze but my other games wouldnt. Now i have a new xbox and it doesnt freeze anymore which means it was my console even though it was just one game.

Yes -- I exchanged the disc, and I still experience the problem.  I've moved the Xbox to another location, free of obstruction.  Still crashes.  I even removed the harddrive to make sure that the gamer profile wasn't corrupted.  Still crashes.

If your game does crash please tell us how old your 360 is.  Maybe it's older systems that are having the problem.

I haven't had any issues yet. So far i've played two exhibition games and one franchise game.

Just to clarify -- when I say "freezes" I mean just that.  The screen freezes and the game cannot recover... I have to turn off the Xbox.

I have a NEW xbox and Madden froze up anytime I played on-line (usually I can play 2 or 3 quarters before it freezes).

No problems with overheating, air is cool all around xbox, no blocked air, etc.

When I play single player it works fine.

Don't know if they were just swamped with people playing after midnight.  Sounds like EA needs to wake up and get a fix out.  This is too many people having the same problem.

same here...anniversary edition, just happened during the 1st quarter of my first franchise preseason game. This is my 3rd xbox and it is 1 week old, so.

I havent bought it yet and i doubt i will now.Friends of mine have it and they all say the game freezes and locks up on them after week 2 in franchise mode.Seems its happening to alot of people considering alot of websites have people posting about it..

My game freezes independent of what I'm doing.  It freezes in both online games and offline games.  Exhibitions.  It freezes just sitting in the main menu... that's what so frustrating... I'm trying to pin down the cause but it appears random.

I bought my Xbox in Feb. of 2006.  I sent in the console for RROD repair six months ago.

Odd. I have played 2 offline games, gone online for rosters, and not experienced a single hitch in the game. Love the 60 FPS.

i hate to say it the madden disc.

i had the same problem i tryed it on my other xbox 360 didnt wrk then on my xbox 360 elite didnt wrk. then i went to get another madden 09 and wrk just fine.

all game disc can have some bug in it that does that.

I replaced it with another disc and it still doesn't work.

I got the game last night and its freezing on me too.  I did a fantasy draft simmed to playoffs started the first game without saving doh and then it froze.
