People talk trash in Uno?
I was playing a nice, relaxing game when some guy started calling everybody names. He was yelling, "Take that b*tch!". I couldn't help but laugh. Is there really any need for trash talking in Uno? Really?

Yeah, I never really looked at UNO as a hardcore, trashtalking type game. I guess some people might be hardcore about. Goofy.

What can I say? Some people trash talk whether it's Halo 3 or backgammon. Gaming and trash talk were married upon creation. -shrug- But yes, it is unnecessary since it is a card game.

I guess you're right, Luna. In some cultures Uno may be a highly competitive sport. Fortunes are made and dreams are crushed... in Uno. I can see, with so much on the line, how people could get fired up in a heated Uno match. It's hard to keep your cool with so much on the line... in Uno. I was playing online the other day and some guy was trying to hook-up with a lady we were playing with. Sad and strange all at the same time. Needless to say she dropped out of the game. I did too.

The mute option works wonders. I use it all the time.

I guess there's a difference in "talking trash" with your buddies while you play some cards and playing online and a complete stranger is calling you a b*tch and trying to proposition all the female gamers.

Just make sure that if you laugh your mic is muted. Don't let them hear it. It'll just encourage them.

I know what you mean! Last night was the first time I played UNO live with players I didn't already know and I didn't realize you could hear their voices through my TV. Two players started talking trash and I had my 3 kids in the room! Had to leave the game quick!

I would say you are a *** of a host, both in UNO and Gears of War (not to mention dinner parties), and you only play either game as host for the advantage.  I quit playing UNO because I kept losing due to host advantage.  That's also when I only ever host my own dinner parties.  I'm not going to someone else's house to lose due to lag.
I like it when it's fun.

I know there is host advantage on Gears, but is there really host advantage on Uno? LOL.

It's true.  They have MANY SERIOUS advantages.
Better cards, their draw 4 cards do WAY more damage, faster response when calling/challenging UNO, etc etc etc.

Well, when I'm playing with buddies or just people I get along with, I might semi-trash talk for the fun of it. Usually just something like "Oh you b****" when I get shafted with a Draw 4, or something along those lines.

Of course, I'm never serious about it, that'd be silly.

That's funny, because I honestly wouldn't care either way.  The fact that you are taking such a casual (or any) game so seriously is hilarious.  I was joking around.  Next time, try not to be such a jerk when talking to someone you've never met before and will most likely never see again.  I haven't even played UNO in over a year, mainly because too many people take it seriously.  It's a game.  You're playing to have fun.  Chill out.

Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearning, dying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?
