Posting this pretty much confirms my suspicions that I am an achievement-you-know-what and validates my friends and loved one's claims that my movie addiction is disturbingly out of hand.

But oh well!

Has anyone had a problem with achievements not unlocking that you know you should have? I've played at least 20+ long games, who knows how many short games, and I still haven't unlocked the 70s, 80s, 90s, sci-fi, and musical cheevos. My girlfriend has played maybe five games and she has 4 out of those 5. My correct/incorrect ratio is something like 1500/125.

Does it really matter if I get them? No, but my achievement/movies OCD is clawing at my brain like a leprechaun in my stomach. ;)

Has this happened to anyone else and do you have a solution? I thought about erasing my game "profile" in the memory cache to see if that would work.

Thoughts? Comments? Psychiatrist recommendations?

Do you play online at all?  If 2 people are playing on the same console online and buzzing in together, only the person that buzzes in gets the credit for answering that type of question.  I haven't heard anyone else complaining about those achievements not unlocking specificically, but this game is so buggy, I wouldn't doubt anything.

I do play online, but I haven't had a team with me. Thanks for the idea, though.

I think I may wait until I get the 10 wins online achievement, and then delete my save file and see if that helps. I post back here when I find out.

I have the same problem with this Achievements. And I played more then 30+ long games and much more short games. I also played so much online but not unlocking the achievements too...

I think I figured it out. I deleted my save file in the memory cache, played a couple games, and a few showed up (sci-fi, 80s, 90s, musicals) so that must be the trick.

WARNING! I waited until I got the achievement for 10 online wins and I'm glad I did. I don't believe deleting your save file affects your online leaderboard stats, but it DOES clear your console stats board.

I don't blame you. My hands were a bit clammy until that first cheevo popped up, but I'm glad I took the risk. =) Still, I wish the game wasn't so buggy with the achievements that it made deleting the file necessary. I just couldn't think of any other solution.

Im having the same problem with the Western one.,

Ive cleared the cache, erased saved game files. I have noted down the questiosn that I have got correct about Westerns, and this is over 15. I do not know why it is not unlocking.

Does it have to be 15 DIFFERENT Western questions? I have answered so many "Three Amigos" "310: Yuma" etc.

I have played over 60 games and never had a Western Genre X

I am in the same boat - I know I have answered more than 20 Family Film questions, for example, yet no achievement. I need a few of these tally achievements.

I don't understand how deleting a saved game will help get these "tally" achievements. Won't the progress towards these achievements then be gone? How will the game know you have answered 40 Western questions then?

My hunch is the DLC is blocking these somehow.

Yeah, it does reset your progress, but for whatever reason, that's what it took to work for me.

...but the good news is family movie questions come up fairly often, so it shouldn't take long to get them. The 15 western questions are trickier because those hardly ever come up.

I wonder if Three Amigos is considered comedy? I've been curious about movies in multiple genres like Serenity. Do they considered it sci-fi or nerd movie, since it has a cult following? (btw, Browncoats rule!)

I don't even know if there's a Western Genre X, since there's so few western questions? The only ones I can recall right now that I know would be for sure are 3:10 to Yuma, Shane, and I think there's an Unforgiven question. Other than that... ???

Three Amigos is a comedy, definitely. I hope Microsoft will look into this problem and let us know if they fixed it.

So it's been awhile since anyone poseted on this, so I was wondering, what is the final word?  I can't seem to unlock 00's, musical, drama, or nerd.  I know I have gotten at least enough to inlock the00's and most likely all the rest of them.  So do I have to delete my achievment file or my scene questions file to fix this.  Or has anyone figured out a beter way so I don't have to play a ton more games that I know 98% of the questions already. Or possibly what if I clear the cache and play a game without deleting my files.  Maybe the glitch resides in the updates.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well I deleted the updates and I got some new questions the next game,  But for whatever reason I wasn't able to use my avatar after I deleted the update even offline.  I was logged in but it didn't use him.  Anyone else notice this?  I then redownloaded the update and I am still noticing some newer questinons.  If Nothing pops in a few games I will try the delete game option.  Again has anyone come up with a beter way yet or anything that might help? I just don't wanna delete everything because I never even got my 00's achievment and the drama one and that will take awhile if I have to start over.

I had problems unlocking the 25 nerd question achievement.  I deleted my save file and cleared my cache.  One and a half games later, Achievement Unlocked. Not sure why it wasn't unlocking before.  All the other ones unlocked just fine.

Same here.  I have played 50 plus games, and I am missing the Western achievement, 60's achievement, and the Rip-Roaring Good Time achievement.  I have deleted my saved game files and started over, but still nothing.  I sit there with anticipation at the end of each round, hoping perhaps this is the round I will see that beautiful achievement icon appear.  But afer I complete round after round, I am left with sorrow in my heart, as the icon never appears.  If somebody with the power to resolve this issue is reading this, please help us.

All I can say is I deleted my save file and then made sure to log in my profile even if I already was logged in I did it again by hitting the x button to log in before you start the game.  Also I wouldn't clear your cache or anything like that while you are still going for the achievments. (I cleared my cache while playing that game and I think that might be part of the problem I had with them not unlocking before) If that doesn't help I don't kjnow what will.

I am still working on the Best Picture Pop Quiz achievement - I think I got the category to come up 6 times, but the last time I played it, I got one wrong. So now I have to wait for it again! - which who knows how long it will be for that category to come up on Pop Quiz again... And then if I miscounted and didn't play 6 rounds already, it will have to pop up again! But anyway...

So once I get that, I will try this delete save game file thing for the last few tally achievements I know I have earned but haven't had the achievement pop for yet.

But I have a couple of questions: 
1) I have read above that some people are deleting their saved file AND clearing their cache. What is the difference and is it easy to locate where to clear the cache?

2) Do I need to delete the DLC for these achievements to unlock in this method? Or can I keep the DLC? Because I am convinced the DLC causes the issues with the achievements that come with the game.

I do not believe the cache has anything to do with it.  Clearing the cache mostly just deletes all your updates(for every game you have not just this one).  It doesn't hurt to clear your cache just in case it has something to do with this glitch.  Just know you will have to redownload all your updates for all your other games you play.

As far as the D/L content goes I did not have it but I know some people who had this glitch did so again I don't think it matters at all.  But again it doesn't hurt to delete it just to make sure, you can always d/l it again later you own it after all.

In summary if you wanna play it safe delete the game save, delete the d/l content, and then clear cache.  Once you start the game feel free to do the update it will ask you to when you start it up after clearing cache.  I did all this(minus deleting d/l content that I didn't have) and it worked for me in about 5 games I had all my glitched cheevies.
Hope this helps and here is how to clear your cache:

Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

i'm not getting "Award-Winning Performance Score 85,000 points in a Long Game" to unlock. I've played numerous games with both solo and two players and on several tries i've gotten over 100k+ in a long game and it's just not popping. I've tried a mix and dlc only long games... whats the deal - am i missing something like to get it you can't answer anything wrong? I might try this trick of deleting the save file, but ive been building up my pop quiz answers and don't want to reset them :(

if i play a 2 player offline game, both signed in to accounts, will i still get achievements?

I am not sure, but I think the multiplayer achievements are for the online games.

Last night I finally got the And the Winner Is.... achievement, so the next time I play, I will erase the saved game and the DLC and see how I do. Though I have to say, erasing the cache doesn't seem ideal.
Will this delete method only work if I erase the cache, too?

Thank you all for the advice on the glitched tally achievements. And they truly are glitched. They came so easily after "starting over" one has to wonder why they didn't pop the first time through... 

I erased my saved game and the DLC and then played two long games last night. In the middle of the second long game, two of the 4 achievements I needed popped. I played a third long game, and I got the third as I played, and the last one after the Final Cut.

Why these achievements turned over so easily now, and didn't when I played all those games before - I guess we'll never really know what happened to prevent them. It is odd that it isn't the same tally achievements giving people trouble, but different ones. For me it was the Action, Drama, '00 and Family tally achievements.

Anyway - posting to say thank you and to state you do not need to erase your cache if some of these tally achievements are not turning over - just delete the saved game, and to be safe, the DLC. You can always download that again at no extra charge if you want it back.

I had answered well over 1000 questions correctly, in single player (mostly short games), on my own, and still didn't have the achievements for movies of the 00's, horror movies, love movies, family movies, and a couple of others. I deleted my saved game as suggested here and all unlocked after a couple of games...

...Except... I still don't have the Western one, and have now faced over 600 questions (on my new save) and HAVEN'T FACED A SINGLE QUESTION ABOUT A WESTERN!

This is really annoying me now. It's my worst subject - I've only ever seen a couple of westerns, and I don't think either of them get a mention in this game - but I'd like to have a chance!

At this rate it'll be months before I get that achievement even if I play every day and get every one right!

Didn't they fix that bug yet? It's really annoying!
