I'm sure you all know this is the Soul Calibur IV forum.But I chose to start some commentary here because SoulCalibur and Tekken are made by the same some company.But moving on,I was just wondering whats on people's minds right now.The game ships 10/27/09 and some people are dying to play it.I've had to the pleasure of playing it in Houston,Texas.I was curious to know who has played it and what do you think about and what improvements need to be made.So please tell me and others what you think about your experience or just what you think personally since this game is a Former Sony exclusive.Please and thank you.

You played the Arcade version right? If so, it came out in 2007, so you know the console version is going to be 10 times more improved.

Buffalo area players are big into Tekken, I'm not as big a fan but I'll probably have no choice but to play it lol.  It's just so slow paced, the moves are mostly faster than Soul Calibur but because of the movement system, backdash and sidestep being as powerful as they are, combined with the number of safe launchers a lot of characters have, it becomes really turtley and poke based, with less interesting mixups and mindgames.

Someone said to me once that playing Tekken (Tag specifically but it applies in some ways to 5 and 6 as well) is like playing a FPS game in fighting game form.  It's just based on execution, reaction time and patience, moreso than any mixups or meaningful mindgames.

Can't wait for T6! I've been practicing alot on Tekken 5 DR on PS3. My Lili's gonna whoop some A$S when T6 releases!

Tekken is the biggest ballsed up most miserable excuse for a fighting game EVER CREATED! It is a joke of a game! It really surprises me how Namco can create sheer briliance in 1 game and a total *** up piece of *** in another! I have never played it nor do I wish to but I have seen it! my ex-friend had TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT for his PS2. He got it for his free game. I tried to tell him to get DEAD OR ALIVE 2 as I had played that on DC but he chose TTT. Boy did he regreat it! He played it about 3 times in about 5 years (he ended up selling it)! He told me the controlls were total crapt compared to SC1. He told me it took over a SECOND for the controlls to respond not like SC1 instantaneous controlls. The graphics were beyond pathetic! SF2 on MEGA DRIVE had better graphics! The sound was also *** up! The game was a disaster! The people who reviewed it and gave it high marks had obviously NEVER played SC1.

I reckon that everyone who wants T6 wants it because they cant handle the controlls and fast gameplay of SF4 and SC4 and the 3D action of SC4. SF4 is NOT fast so I have no idea what you are talking about. Tekken has quite possibly the best fighter(s) ever in Eddy/Christy and many other greats. SF4 introduced 4 new fighters with Crimson Viper being the only good one and she is just okay at best. Let's see how these new Tekken characters are. And I still haven't played as Lily or Dagunov yet so 6 new characters for me.

...have you even played SFIV??...seriously, I don't see SFIV (or anything fighting game related) on your recent games list...and if you wanted to talk about depth, virtual fighter 5 easily beats out all those games you just listed. 1. Yes you are a huge fanboy. No I am not a fanboy. What makes us different is that fact that I have actually played, MYSELF, Tekken, SC, and SF. Just because I like Tekken more because it is a far superior game doesn't make me a fan boy. You haven't even played Tekken.

You're opinion doesn't count cause you've never even played the game. And you're comparing the graphics of SC4, which is one the PS3 and Xbox 360, to that of TTT, which is on the PS2. If you compare them now, yeah the graphics suck. Tekken 5 though has aged really well. I'm a fan of all major fighting games except one: DOA. That franchise is absolutely terrible. All it is is button mashing. SC is somewhat similar but it takes strategy and you do learn the moves. Not in DOA. Terrible game. And you know why Namco keeps Tekken games? 35 million coies sold worldwide. And its just now going multi-platform. Tekken: Greatest fighting series ever.

First up Turntablist GTF! The reason you dont see anything under my GC is because I have been playing other games over the last 4 weeks! Go and look at my gamer profile and you will see under it SOUL CALIBUR 4 and SC1! You will also see I have 950 of 1000 points unlocked. I have 2 missing guard impact and just impact (2 stupid moves I cant and never do) and I played online mode for 2 MONTHS STRAIGHT. In fact my brother even asked me if I had played anything else because that was all he ever saw when he logged on was hoggys2much playing SC4 online. I have been playing SC since 1999! Last year I even played SC3 for 9 weeks straight! My Chronicles Of The Sword has over 300hours on the save file! In SC2 I worked my way up to Level 98: Legendary Edgemaster Of The Phoenix! It took me 3 weeks straight! I have even done it about 4 times. As for SF. I wouldn't go back to that if you payed me. Why would I go back to 2D games after playing 3D SC? But I have played SF in the past and played it religiously! I had SF2: Special Championship Edition for the Mega Drive so I can comment!

So no wonder it has sold more than SC! So get your facts right before posting anything! But this is what I should expect from TEKKEN lovers who cant accept the game is crap! Snakeeyes I will give you one thing I too loathed DOA! I bought it  for the DC and all I can say is this: Thank God I got it from Game! because it went back the next day! I found it totally unfair and the controlls weren't great and there was 1 mode that was just crap! In it it was tag team but I hated the way the CPU could double team you but you couldn't do that! OH and if you want to compare how well a game can age go and look at SC1 on live! It is excactly the same game as was on DC and it still doesn't look out of place! Cant say that for Tekken!

Couple more pointers. How many Tekken games have had full marks from reviewers? FIVE maximums out of seven games! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! SC1 is 1 of only 9 games to get 40/40 from Famitsu magazine who are well know for being the toughest revieweres on the planet! VF got 39/40! Also SC has had more maximums that I care to count! this is the overall scores from Metacritic.com for Tekken 5 and SC4! T5 81. SC4 85! In fact not 1 tekken game has beaten SC! And the best Tekken game out there is Tekken 3 for PS1!  So just go away and shut up!

Oh and by the way I was going to try TTT one time when my ex-friend put on 1 time when I was at his but he told me dont bother I wouldn't like it. He told me evrything sucked about the game and it wasn't a patch on SC in anyway! He played it 3 times in 5 years before selling it! yet he was up at my house every chance he got to play SC!

Lets see I have said that I prefer SC out of the fighting games I have played which over the years are SF2, SC (all of them) DOA and POWERSTONE and I have said that I prefer SC and you are calling me a fan boy? Just because like you I prefer SC over that *** Tekken! So how am I fan boy and you are not? That is just a warpped Tekken mind speaking! How the hell am I a fan boy and you are not! That is like saying Arsenal are betteer than Man U or Celtic are better than Rangers but  dont support either of those teams!


Couple more pointers. How many Tekken games have had full marks from reviewers? FIVE maximums out of seven games! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! SC1 is 1 of only 9 games to get 40/40 from Famitsu magazine who are well know for being the toughest revieweres on the planet! VF got 39/40! Also SC has had more maximums that I care to count! this is the overall scores from Metacritic.com for Tekken 5 and SC4! T5 81. SC4 85! In fact not 1 tekken game has beaten SC! And the best Tekken game out there is Tekken 3 for PS1!  So just go away and shut up!

 

One simple thing makes you a fanboy and myself not. I have played ALL of the games. You have NOT played Tekken.

Please explain to me why I can't find this kind of thing about Soul Calibur, or Street Fighter?

Now **** off back to your kiddie PS3 and play your kiddie *** and I will play gron up games that have beautiful graphics controlls and FULL 3D gameplay!
