The Many Reasons to Rez
#1. The Money: Rez makes it easy to stack money quick. You get money for every rez plus half of the money your rezzed person makes afterwards.

#2. Two guns are better than one. A little help never hurts(well maybe sometimes, dung happens)

#3. Easy kills. Head to one of those spots where a teammate just died & a lot of times you'll find a half dead enemy shooting at the ground. If there's multiple enemies clearing a body, throw a grenade, might get a double kill & save their body.

#4. Crappy EV. It may not show me the enemies but it'll let me know their whereabouts & it doesn't have to be mapped.

#5. Helps teammates save money by keeping their weapons. Save your teammates some extra cash by picking them up at the end of a round, this way they can grab their guns & not have to buy more.

#6. Six guns are better then one. You could rez your whole team by casting it once, rez paired with gust &/or teleport makes it easy to get a multiple rez.

#7. A lot of players will thank & respect you for it. It's a lot better than running into teamkillers.

#8. For those accidents. Dung happens & atleast you can bring them back.

#9. It's a better use of essence than summon. Minions aren't that hard to kill & confined.

#10. You don't need to have it mapped. You can quickcast it pretty quickly.

#11. Cash to spare. I usually make so much loot I can give it away.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez

I usually buy rez first round unless I'm a troll. Then with troll I get it third or fourth depending on how good my team is.

Another good reason to rez is, the other team is most likely doing it. The team that doesn't rez loses almost every single time.

I always, always buy rez first round.

I also notice that a lot of games are won or lost by the number of people rezzing on the team.

I hate jerk off humans that don't buy it. In Pub matches you always need rez. either first or third buy in my oppinion. Buying tele first round is a waste of money in pubs when you can't do much when your the only one with tele against like there whole team who doesn't have it and will be all clumped together.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
Sometimes I buy Rez sometimes  Lately If I'm elf I will go with Smoke and Anti Magic or Wired Reflexes. Troll I will usually go REZ and Teleport or Gust. Human I might do Rez and Teleport. If I'm an Orge I will go Teleport and Rez. I feel like elfs should do Rez but it is not required. I know in other posts people saying they will call vote or quit or leave a bad rep because an Elf doesn't have rez but I don't feel like you have to get it. I played a couple of games some days ago. One day I got 13 kill and 11 were just with katana. Another day I got 16 kills with Katana in a game. Both games I was an elf and didn't go with resurrect.   I'm an OK player and usually if I get around 10 Kills I'm doing pretty good so get so many kills with a Katana I felt like I was doing good. Another game I played earlier I got around 6 kills and 8 resurrects with a Ogre. The times I do go resurrect is If i'm an Ogre. I just say hey I'm gonna do resurrect and it will be cool when they get rezzed by an Ogre.

Of course one game I wanted to go with katana but I joined in the middle of the game and the team didn't have any rezzers so a couple of rounds later I quit. I had other games where I'm an Ogre and by the 3 or 4th round I am getting rez because no one else on team had got rez. If I see no one else has rez on the team I don't really care which race I am playing. I will then I will get rez for sure.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez

Another reason to buy rez;
If you don't some people will TK you.

I realize some people don't agree with this kind of thing but if you're an elf and it's round 6 you better have rez. Obviously there can be exceptions. If your team is smoking the other team then yeah, no point. BUT, if your team is in a fierce battle(or losing) and you don't then you aren't playing well.

I was in a game last night on Powerstation where two people just ignored everyones requests to get rez. I told them I was done rezzing them and I made a point of not doing it. One of the guys on my team bled the elf out and laughed as he screamed. Funny thing was the rest of the team didn't mind. One guy even said "maybe you should've bought rez".
I didn't TK him but I drained his essence at the start of each round. Btw he was also the typical glider/rifle elf, last one alive sitting above the artifact pad.

Everyone should have Rez at some point in the game. Especially if the team is

sharing it's money around. Tree & Rez are the ultimate money makers and

you really dont have to work that hard at it.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
Sometimes I like to get rez other times I don't. Sometimes I can get 8-10+ kills in a game and other times I don't even feel like trying. Last game I played I got kicked for throwing an Anti Magic Generator at a troll who was next to tree and bleeding out. Sometimes I like to play and help team but then I shoot Anti Magic Generators at trees or people. I was in a previous game playing elf. I didn't have rez but had 7 kills. Besides the kills all I had to was start throwing Anti Magic Generators and this Commander guy was freaking out cause an elf on his team was just wasting anti magic generators and throwing them at players and at the guys tree. I thought it was cool and stuff. The guy who I tried to bleed out I gave the dude a good rep. I just know if I get to meet him in another game I will get the same reaction when I throw a  anti magic generator at him.

Sorry but I don't care if you have 50 kills as an elf, if you don't buy rez you fail. If I saw you throwing anti magics at my team I'd TK you and call a vote. I'd repeat that until you got kicked or left.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
I don't feel like I should be required to do anything except try to play well and help out the team. There are times where my team loses and I don't have rez. Some games I just feel like playing the game. I could care less if our team loses or not. I try to play my best and when we lose so what. Other times I feel awful because we won 6 to 0 or the other team creamed us and I felt the teams weren't fair. Sometimes I do great like the other day I was in a game and got around 12 kills, 5 deaths and 5 resurrects as an elf. Within the first round or two I was at 7 kills and 1 death.  I started with smoke but later decided to get rez instead of anti magic.

I can get to point when I'm playing elf I use the exact same build every time. Thats when I start playing differently and get rez or minion or something else. I would think you would get bored after awhile playing the same build with the same character over and over again. Normally if I were elf I would go Teleport and Rez but I don't see why you should have to use the same build every time.

Yeah see that's my point. Rezzing is playing well and helping the team. Some guy just getting kills and letting every else just lay on the ground dead is not actually helping that much.

You don't have to run into firefights to rez but having the option is a must. I get mad if it's a late round and some elf refuses to buy rez. It could mean the difference between winning an losing. Also it lets others play more, which means we all have a better time.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
Why is it that the people who don't like to rez always pick elf. I pick troll, and can't rez more than once due to low essence. But I get lots of kills, and back up other races which need heavy support.

There is nothing more useless than a gust gliding/camping elf. In that situation, team killing is allowed.

Yeah really, if you refuse to rez at least play as human since they can't rez much. If you're Dwarf or Elf and you don't have rez expect to get hated on by most of your team. It only costs 2k and you don't have to use it that much, just have it for emergencies.

Humans can't rez much, I'm offended. I play human alot & just the other day I had 15 rezs in a match as a human. I buy rez with every race, but troll is the only race I don't get rez early on in the game.

I play human a lot and I buy rez first round. I know they can rez but overall they can't rez as many people compared to an elf or a dwarf(unless your team is getting pwned).
And yeah, with Troll I usually wait at least 3-4 rounds before I get rez. I still buy it but other things are a priority like tree and teleport(or w/e else you need to actually do well).

I play Human almost exclusively and lead my team in Rez. alot of the time.
You just have to be creative in how you use it. Gusting bodies together or
Rezzing then Tele/Wired between bodies that are far apart to get those
multiple Rezzes.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
Yeah but the point here is how Elves have a much easier time rezzing and still some people refuse. When I play elf I can rez someone and not even worry about my essence. With a human it's a different story. Like you said you have to be smart to get multiple rezs. Elf can just run around rezzing and barely break a sweat.

Re: The Many Reasons to Rez
Being a troll, once I rez I am pretty much going to die. I can't teleport or put up a tree after ressing one person, so I only do it as an emergency. That said, we have won a few times by me using rez when I am the last player alive.

I played with a team today that had 5 elves on it. Not one of them used rez for the entire 9 rounds. One elf had 10 kills, but was spending all the money on a rocket launcher. Needless to say, we LOST.

I am not surprised by this anymore. That is just the way most people play shadowrun now. Rambo elf style.

It sucks, but what can you do.

Unless you have a tech mapped, you still have enough essence to cast teleport or tree as a troll. And if your team is losing badly enough, it doesn't take up much essence at all. When I play troll, I just unmap my tech before I rez someone. Most of the time having another player's support is far more helpful than whatever tech I had mapped. Sure, this gimps you as a troll & you are an easier kill but I've seen plenty of rounds/matches won where the whole team is bleeding out. When I play troll I try & make sure to rez people with rez first.

I did not know that. Usually, I have SL mapped due to the endless parade of katana nooby elves. I turn it on when they sneak up and try to bleed me out. I will unmap and see how I go next time. If I can still use tree, I will defininitely use rez more often.

Actually, for a Troll, you rez quite often, which is nice to see (and my sorry a$$ thanks you everytime you've done so Stick out tongue [:P])

I go out of my way to rez those on my friends list. But avoid rezzing camping elves.

In relation to the above suggestion, I gave it a try today. After I had rezzed I unmapped my tech, and was able to cast a tree or teleport. This is a big help, as I can rez, put up a tree, and then stay there and try to survive.

Can't believe I had not worked that one out before. Probably because I am a 'smartlink noob'.    :)
