...it just had some diffrences in combat for the characters. It just seems their is only two types of characters while in combat, your warriors and your mages. All the immortals end up learning all the abilities, and I just wished their was a diffrence in the characters in combat (ala Job System). I want a theif, black mage, white mage, warrior, lancer, blue mage, monk, ect. Other than that, this game is completly amazing in every way, I just wish the characters had a little more "individualism" in combat.

the only problem i had was that eventually, there was only one way to actually set up for team, kaim seth sed in the front row, and any two of ming sarah and jansen at the back.
also, is there any point in playing through the game with your more powerful characters (after the credits roll and you start at the start with a level 60 kaim:P) is anything different a second time through?

At first glance it is that way, however Mack is a bit of a mix of warrior/supporting magic with his spirit magic. And of course, you can equip accessories to give fighters some useful magic, so it's not entirely set in stone.

Dont forget about seds gun and macks melee/discus but yes i do agree. However since the rpg game developers have discovered that giant swords/katanas is now overrated its hard to find a substitute. I personally dont care about katanas and etc but variety is needed. I think they were just experimenting with this game to see if little variety would matter.

What do you mean there was only one way to set up the team? I certainly didn't have Sed in mine, and I remember having three mages for a good percentage of the forth disc, at the very least.

I don't agree that it's as simple as melee/mage, but it's ultimately down to how you play. You can choose to go that route, or you can have a tank, a berserker, a healer, a black mage and a support mage with very little effort. It's not a flaw with the game, it's a flaw with how you play it.

you are right in many ways but a beserker and a tank were basically melee like he said and its impossible to change the immortals. As in the case of the healers, support, and black since they are capable of learning all of them there's no point in labeling a mage that is good in all fields to a specific type. the immortals basically fail altogether by the end so there's little point.

I liked sed as my 5th party member since he could double almost everything (item,exp,sp,gold,loot,etc), he could steal naturally, and had the ability to have three accessories equipped so he was pretty useful once leveled up.  Yeah, his attack power was not of Jansen's black or Mack's spirit magic but in my opinion overall, he provided the best all-around support out of any of the mortals.

yup definite the fifth is sed. on boss battles i used the mack though to cast walla, mindus, powerus, and speedus on all characters

X-2 had a good combat ystem, its story was horrible tohugh, anyways I onticed with lsot odyssey is well their isnt really a major difference in classes, it mistly depends on your skill setup and their stats for battle, Kaim is your tank, Seth can hit fast but not hard etc

I loved the plot the plot for prince of persia, they ruined the characters in X-2, I dont even want to go intro the massage minigame involving yuna and le blanc(shudders at the tohught)

that's what anime is, skanky looking girls to attract the horny people that play/watch it. ad a continuation of X would be good but it was still a nice game that you can't compare to the best game very made which isnt fair, the point i was making wasnt about the cruddy plot but the type of skill you can have (gun mage, beserker etc.) because i think that was an interesting idea. And speaking of how rikku dresses just look at ming and sarahs clothes.

Sarah is okay, Ming is just bad, ecspecily with the veins, but I didnt buy x-2 for the gameplay, sure its good, jsut like X was really good in both departments, but I have a horrible time playing x-2 where its battle system reminds of 5, but the story seems like it was thrown out the window jsut for sake of *** appeal. Whats done is done, and I think the lesson is never make a true sequel to a Final fantasy game. Thats enough of this topic, I dont want to go off -topic anymore

I'm not being funny, but writing one sentence on LO to every five on FFX-2 hardly makes your posts on topic, especially as you're not even talking about the battle system. 'You must be ***, that was hot', or whatever it was that you posted, wasn't exactly on topic either.

As for me, I stand by my initial comments; it was entirely down to how you played it. If you worked out a super-class and used that for every immortal, then it's your fault if you find it too similar. If you start to actually use individual classes and roles, then you'll see that the combat can become fairly expansive. If you're given the option to stick everything on one character, you don't have to use that option. The option is also there to specialise characters, but for whatever reason, many people seem to feel reluctant to do that. It doesn't make you any weaker if the skills are spread throughout the party, after all, you're not just using one character.

Seriously, come back after you've used specialised roles in battle, and you'll see that it isn't the game's fault you find it repetitive or boring, it's your own.

Before this post, I was not at all hypocritical; the topic of the conversation was how the characters developed and how the battle system was too similar for each character, with the odd peppering of what the best combination of characters was. I argued these points, and these points - and mine - were entirely on topic. The two (wow) sentences that were off topic in my second post, were made in response to your own. I count eight off topic sentences in four posts, and those sentences weren't properly grammatically correct, either; they could probably be expanded to double-digits, given corrections. I then wrote seven that were on topic, making a decent ratio of 6:1, as opposed to your impressively off-topic 1:8. You probably don't understand how ratios work, though, given your obvious lack of intelligence.

I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty impressed with a glass hose; even more so if someone could fit inside of it. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and further - your little saying? It. doesn't. even. fit. There's no glass house here. Nothing is going to smash around me because I decided to respond to your drivel. Personally 9 is my favorite. 10's Battle System was fun though. 8's Cardgame was really addictive.
