Re: Feedback on Questions
We need more questions about video games. I only remember answering one about Mirror's Edge and one about Gears of War, and I played every episode save for 30 minutes of the first live show. The Gears of War question was extremely easy too.

Re: Feedback on Questions
I'm not apart of the beta (from US) but if I were Canadian I wouldn't mind having questions about video games, sports, or current events in the news.

You could mention stuff about hockey history, baseball teams, basketball teams, video games made in Canada, or anything going on with Canada these days.

Just suggestions!

Re: Feedback on Questions
Way too much Canadian content, I'm Canadian but if I see one more TimHortons or Don Cherry Question I'm gonna puke.  Canadians know more than maple syrup and Brian Mulrooney, it's kind of insulting to be treated as if we're ignorant to the rest of the word.  Too many repeats aswell.  It's really fun but about three episodes in me and my friends started playing Halo instead of redoing the same trivia over and over.

I liked the question asking which celebrity appeared at WrestleMania 25.

We need more pro wrestling questions, and less geography questions!

Re: Feedback on Questions
There was a question the other day. I don't recall exactly, but it was something like "If you're driving from to Yellowknife, which highway are you on?"

Is that meant to be from somewhere to Yellowknife, or just to Yellowknife?

I'm not an actor, but I play one on TV.

Re: Feedback on Questions
1.)  I think it would be really nice if you focused on current events and politics as well.  Although younger gamers may not know the answer right away it would certainly help educate many of the players.

2.)  I think that questions based around video games are a good idea as long as they are exclusive to past and current XBOX titles.

3.)  I would avoid too many pop culture questions as most of us gamers don't know about "Hannah Montanna" and that kind of nonsense, lol.  I understand wanting to ask about movies, music, etc - but you have such a broad age range that it could reduce interest from us older players.

Change can lead to something better or something worse. How you react to it makes it better or worse for you.

While I love The Hip they're not the only big Canadian band. Try and involve other Canadian artists.

Re: Feedback on Questions
I would like to see more questions about video games, older ones. like Mario and stuff. I don't know if that'd be a copywright infringement. and perhaps some anime questions, I know that a lot of gamers watch anime as well..but i mean it depends on your target audience, you really should think about it though.

Re: Feedback on Questions
Anime-related questions would be great too. As for Xbox-only gaming questions, there was a Mario question tonight, so this might be a sign that there's more to come. I'm sure a lot of players are somewhat familiar with series like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and God of War, so I don't think questions based on those games would be out of place.

Re: Feedback on Questions
I posted this in another thread, but this one is more appropriate so I'll post it here again.

I would like them to stop putting in so many completely nonsense answers for some of the questions. By this I mean answers that a shovel could point at and say, "well thats obviously wrong". I'll use a slightly exaggerated example:

(Question) What is the 10th letter in the English alphabet?

x) Left bracket

a) 12

b) J

Answers like these don't pop up too often, but I do think they happen a little too frequently. I know sometimes they are just for laughs (Vin Diesel in a Zoo Tycoon II movie? lol) but still.

Re: Feedback on Questions
The funniest question I have seen was about the great lakes.

It was "Which of the great lakes is furthest north" or something along those lines.

The Answers were, Lake Superior... Lake Erie and Great Bear or Great Slave Lake (I cant remember exactly which)

The correct answer is Lake Superior since it's an actual great lake...

But, the brains behind the question decided that Great Bear/Great Slave is now part of the great lakes, and is the correct answer...

I face palmed myself so hard, my face split open and the insides of my head emptied onto the table in front of me.

Re: Feedback on Questions
The majority of these questions seem to be about: Nike, McDonalds, up coming movies and so forth.

The other half seem to be a combination of mistakes.

For Example

1. Calling Atlantis Morrisette a "popstar"
2. Saying Michelle Obama never leaves home without "reporters"

The other problem is a lack of the following question types

1. Cenus population data
2. Demographics of any kind
3. Crime Data
4. Box Office or DVD rental numbers
5. Questions about ACTUAL VIDEO GAMES!

Anyways, MS needs to create a filter to lower the massive number of product placement questions that advertisers are CLEARLY sending them.

Regards,

TBOTE

Re: Feedback on Questions
I think there was a question in the extended play "which one of these towns is not in Saskatchewan?" the answer ended up being Flin Flon because it is a Manitoba town near the border. However, if you do your research you see there is also a Flin Flon in Saskatewan as an extention of the Manitoba town. So technically Flin Flon is not the correct answer.. just throwing that out there.

Also another problem I have with the beta is that when you are in the crowd and you get a hard question right but many people in the Mob and crowd get it wrong and so does "the one" you do not get the extra points for mob knock outs that you would normally get had "the one" answered it correctly. (this happened to me on the Lloydminster question last night.)

As a Geography/History/Social Studies teacher I'm shocked at how little Canadians know about these subjects and how everyone is complaining about these questions. I love the Canadian questions! The game is awesome can't wait to win some real prizes!

Re: Feedback on Questions

I'm having a great time playing the game. The question "What is the body of a Delorean make from?" Or something like that. The answer you said was correct was Stainless Steel. I chose Fiberglass and got it wrong. No big deal. I just wanted to mention that the body of  Delorean's DMC12 was in fact Fiberglass with Stainless Steel panels bolted to the fiberglass body. I'm not nit picking, I would just hate to see someone loose over a question like that if they knew what they were talking about.

Re: Feedback on Questions

Tooooooooo many BS movie questions. Last night on the fisrt episode, fisrt round, they had at least 7 movie questions out of 10, and six of them were back to back. The game have to be general and proportionned on everything not only 80% on freakinng movies the whole three hours. What about the other topics, If I wanted to only answer movie questions I'd get one of the Scene It games (Which I will do soon), anyway I hope in the future they will see to that. And enough with the repeats FOR f#!@!%  SAKE, I don't mine if you repeat the questions in another sessions because too many people missed it but having the same one every day and or every sessions, shows that nobody is working on this game everyday, why did you guys ask us to submit questions. You need OUR HELP, use the questions that we gave YOU. I'm a bit irrate about last night shows, you guys have a good game DON'T *** IT UP. thanks

Re: Feedback on Questions
I agree that the great slave lake is not really a Great Lake, just a "great" lake.  That question almost broke my streak.

However, I have really only noticed that one possibly incorrect answer.

Overall I have been quite impressed by the range and accuracy of the questions.
I was very excited when a question came up about Emily Haines.  I wished for that every since i saw the first question about the hip.

Re: Feedback on Questions

A good idea, or an interesting one, would be to ask questions on things like weapons. What is the name for the short sword used by the spartans of Rome? etc.

Re: Feedback on Questions
I'd like to see more general trivia questions.  From what I've seen from the Canadian beta, there seemed to be a plethora of pop culture questions, and I feel that some questions about geography, physical science, U.S./world history, etc. would bring more variety to the show.
