So now that Mirror's Edge 2 is confirmed...
What does everybody want out of the sequel? I definitely want

longer levels
longer story
less elevators
online races

Feel free to add.

Level editor seems nice. Make up your own time trial courses. That'd be cool.

I don't know how feasible a level editor would actually be in practice.  But, certainly it would be cool if you could pick a zone of the game and place your own checkpoints in it to create your own timetrials for other people to have a go at.

Hey, yeah theres quite a lot of great things that could be implemented into this game, but for me i would love to see a 1v1 race mode on specially made levels for that mode... no checkpoints just get from A to B faster than the other guy and have a trueskill rating for it... also it would be much easier to have an instant replay function for the top 10 players in the leaderboards so people can just press a to view from first person what they did, instead of racing the ghosts... thanks!

Both of these plus the obvious longer story would be awesome!

^ I dont think CAC is necessary since you very rarely see your character anyway. Open world would be cool. I recommended that once and people flamed me for the idea. lol.

Yeah, but for the Character Customization, your right, but mabye, they could put different views even though I prefer the 1st person, then you could see Faith (I'm just talkin' about outfits or mabye completely different characters, I'd still prefer Faith though). But just shootin' ideas out there.

I would like to see a multiplayer mode where some people are the runners and the others are the police who need to stop the runners of completing their objective

That sounds good but they need to make more wepon choices. Or mabye you can only use a police baton.

The only things i can think of to make this game better is longer story line and more time trials.

Mirror's Edge: 1250/1250
Fable 2: 1350/1350
X-men Origins Wolverine: 1000/1000

While it may sound gimmicky I would like to see something like when you pull off a super awesome jump or something that the camera pans out and like circles 180 degrees while your doing it. I mean this for only certain events for example..........but then i suppose that would break the full interaction that this game brings. This game is always in FP and its just......amazing.

Oh wait i thought of something, i wish they would get the contrast sorted because when im in sunny parts of the city its fine to have my brightness turned down however I have to turn it up to see what I'm doing in places like the sewers.

Re: So now that Mirror's Edge 2 is confirmed...

online multiplayer is a must. i probably won't get it if theres no multiplayer.. some of the ideas i can think of:

chase/tag "you're it" (stay away from all opposing players as long as possible while racking up time+jump/movement points/combos.. person with most points @ the end of time wins)

follow the leader (players take turns going through a map, trying to out do the others moves in a faster time from gate to gate)

races (very linear.. first one to the end wins, with the ability to cut ppl off and close doors, etc..fighting) .. you know how awesome that would be with several players @ once?

+

a bit more of a combat system, just a bit tho.. dont want to over do it

better implementation of combo system+focus, well.. not nessicarily better, but MORE.

great ideas. they should also put in a mode where its like cops vs runners, where like a team of players controlling the cops would have to try to kill the runners before they reach a certain point or obtain a certain object. that would be sweet.

Level editor.  It'd work perfectly.  We just really need sizable cubes and basic objects like fences, poles, etc.

Level editor would be really cool. But unfortunately the chance of major changes are probably slim if the news is already out. Usually at that time they are already working on the major bugs, cleaning up the graphics, assigning shipping, etc. I've only played the demo so far, but I feel that racing in the multiplayer mode would be cool to see.

^ Yeah man, same here.  I saw a commercial for it on TV and was like "wow, that game actually looks pretty interesting."  Then I tried the demo and I was immediately sold on it.  It was unlike any previous gaming experience I've ever had. :)

Y'know, some kind of online multiplayer would be cool and all, but I don't want to see that at the expense of a slightly longer single-player campaign.  Actually, as I've alluded to before, I'm pretty much satisfied with the length of the current game.  It would have been perfect if it just had maybe one or two additional campaign levels, perhaps as DLC like they did with the time trial map pack.

(1) more options for the buttons - let the gamers decide which button is for jumping, action, sliding, etc...
(2) online multiplayer
(3) more fighting moves @ will not at random... boo!!!

I think they plan to make this into a long series, which would explain the short games. By the sound of it, they will shorten and stretch it out like they did for Dead Rising. However, the small amount of levels does not necessarily mean a short game. They may have extended the level sizes.

Re: So now that Mirror's Edge 2 is confirmed...
id like some multiplayer, say up to 8 peeps all fighting for the finish line but cant hit each other, like a ghost but people playing.

id like a lot longer story line.

also say a reley race around the levels with other peeps would be cool, like a proper parkour clan,

id like some weather effect to like snow, rain and heavy rain which will affect your approach through the level. when you play it a 2nd 3rd or 100th time.

customize your charecter, and def a reply, also custom time trials.

Sadly the only place I think this can apply is multiplayer if they allow it. Other than that, I believe you are stuck as the main character throughout the game.

Re: So now that Mirror's Edge 2 is confirmed...
Lets see...for the sequel, I'd like to see
1) greater plot depth (not to say I didn't like the ME story; I'd like to see something on a grander scale than what was presented)
2) multiple entry points to a delivery or pickup
3) the ability to deviate from the main plot to take on other jobs/deliveries
4) the ability to generate cash from jobs so you can customize outerwear, shoes, and other special items like brass knuckes (or something similar) to be able to hit harder and take down opponents faster or kevlar based clothing to reduce bullet damage, etc....along the same lines, since you would be customizing your guy, how about in-game reflective surfaces, so you can see your character???
5) 3rd person perspective (?) ...may be a bad idea...just throwing it out there...

Just some ideas...in general, I loved the game. For the next game, I could just settle for #1 and #3.

Re: So now that Mirror's Edge 2 is confirmed...
Longer/more levels would probably be the best addition, i don't think it needs much more of a combat system, since the original did so well with the whole fists vs. guns tradeoff. Multiplayer's a must, and i really like the game mode ideas proposed so far, but I had one of my own that I think would be incredibly fun, and pretty innovative:

Basically, it's like a linear, team-based version of capture the flag. One team starts with the "flag", probably a runner bag in this case, and has to get it to the other side of the map. The opposing team has to stop them from doing so. Players on the runner team can throw the bag back and forth to each other, but can't use guns, and if the bag is thrown off a building or taken by the opposing team, they lose. If one of the runners is killed, they can't respawn until the next round. The opposing team can use guns and can respawn, but maybe would be a bit slower or less resistant to damage. Now if EA would just read this forum:P
