Now that the back of the box is falsely claiming that it has online multiplayer, you should give refunds to people like me, who just bought the game, and an xbox 360 less then 2 weeks ago......like seriously....thats $20 i just wasted

Whilst I kind of agree EA have got away with shutting down servers for games that have online achievements.
It didn't help that some of the CH achievements were basically impossible to get until recently though.

I kind of wish the Free Battle were a separate P2P-based multiplayer aspect for Chromehounds...at least that way it would still be available for play on XBL once the servers are shutdown. 



Also, it would have been nice to have the Neroimus Wars continue on, but with just CPU opponents.  Yeah, I know CPU opponents suck, but at least it would be something...

Plus im pretty sure personally......Sega with there own law boffs etc wouldnt shutdown there server knowing they would get mayor kickback form refunding people or making it up to MS.

Well, its kind of a valid complaint. Chromehounds is a Platinum Hits game. Those games are supposed to be universally playable and enjoyed at any time in the console's life.

But, I guess the only real complaint is if someone bought it after the servers shut down. It should not be sold at all after that point.

I totally understand those servers dont pay for themselves and MS is not running them so really, if only a few hundred thousand more people were playing the game everyday then maybe SEGA could justify keeping it going.

It just irks me because the entire game is built around online. Yeah i know you can play single player, but if youve ever played it you would never mention its existence again.

Just the way it is I guess....

All you have to do is read the Xbox Live license agreement that you clicked the little box on when you first set it up. It pretty much says they can shut down servers whenever they want and for any game that uses the service, such as CH.  Doesn't matter if another company runs the server either, as long as the server is tied to Xbox/MS, we have no say, and again, they are protected by their license agreement.

Come on guys, this game is like three years old now. I played it enough when it came out in 2006, and I could honestly care less about the news. I tried to play the game again late last year, and the miniscule community playing it at the time was just sad. I say it's time. It had a good life.

Dude, MS don't patrol these forums to answer such things. they have a few people who moderate it when things get way to far out of hand and are called in through the report post function. but thats it. They don't have the time to read every post of every forum every day.

Does the game say "Satisfaction Guaranteed" on it? Nope. No refund. BTW.. 20 bucks.. you got taken. used it runs like 10.

I dunno about them sucking.. some of the CPU squads have DEADLY accuracy with their sniper rounds. And others do seem like they are DUI... couldn't seem to land a hit at distance with their snipers.

I agree with brother2battles. I work in a game store and I have about 6 copy's of the game where I work. Just came in. brand new. if microsoft thinks I"m going to lie to them and make the customers buy it there crazy. I have warned everyone in my district about it. I won't have people who come to me for great games and advice steared wrong cuase they wanna make money. either keep it open or don't expect me to sell your product. sorry it's just retarded. atleast mechwarrior 5 is coming out soon. I need my mech fix!

I actually remember seeing a preview trailer for mechwarrior 5 on television, its great.

its a shame to see it go but hopefully sega will patch the game somehow make it either P2P or make the achievements possible in single player, anyway Im sure chromehounds 2 will be out soon

IGN claims that--along with its parent company--it received a cease and desist order from Harmony Gold, the co-copyright owner of the Robotech television series. According to the order, the use of certain trademarked figures from the Robotech/Macross universe is prohibited as a result of a 1996 settlement.

As IGN points out, the MechWarrior franchise isn't part of the Robotech/Macross universe, however the similarities between the two intellectual properties have triggered legal issues and have raised questions. "Apparently, some of those trademarked figures appear in the trailer used by Pirahna Games in its announcement of the MechWarrior reboot earlier this year, and a request has been made for that trailer to be pulled from IGN," said IGN's Erik Brudvig.

With that said, it's believed that the development of MechWarrior 5 (working title) could be in jeopardy. On the negative side, a trademark dispute could postpone or even terminate the game's development. On a positive note, the legal troubles could only force the designers to remove certain assets from the game such as specific vehicles, logos, characters and more.
