General wrestling thread(WWE, ROH, etc.)
Alright, this is the thread where we can talk about WWE and any other wrestling company. We can even kick it old school if you'd like with ECW, WCW, AWA talk...anyways, Smackdown looks good this Friday night. I'm looking forward to the Intercontinental title match between John Morrison and Rey Mysterio, as well as seeing CM Punk own Jeff Hardy one last time.

Well, everyone who has seen the Morrison/Mysterio match has said it was a true PPV quality match, so I can only hope that I am not disappointed.

And regarding Ring of Honor, there are rumors going around that they aren't making profit, and that ever since the HDNet deal, DVD sales have also went down, which is where ROH received most of their revenue. Honestly, I don't want them to close down, as it has some of the best wrestlers you can find. However, likelihood is that if ROH were to close down, TNA and DragonGate USA would benefit from it, as they are the two companies that I think the talent would go to.

ROH has gone downhill since Gabe Sapolsky left. Dragon Gate USA has the most to gain by far in the indy circuit. They've gotta be taking a hit since most of their wrestlers are from Japan, so the travel is costly. More home grown talent is necessary for DGUSA...they've got a steal by getting Brian Kendrick though.

Re: General wrestling thread(WWE, ROH, etc.)
I have a feeling DGUSA will become similar to the original ECW, however I believe the DGUSA will have more emphasis on the wrestling rather than the hardcore element that ECW grew around.

If ROH do in fact go out of business, DGUSA will be the next place for fans to go, because it seems as though DGUSA is actually going to be taping in places where ROH even taped, including the old ECW Arena, which I think is called "The Arena" now (how creative!).

So, yeah, but I would love for TNA and DGUSA to work together and have a talent exchange similar to what TNA and ROH had in the early NWA days of TNA.

Really? I think Bret is a fantastic wrestler, but I think Vince did the right thing. Bret flat out refused to lose the belt to Michaels, for no reason other than he didn't like the guy. His contract was done after that show, and he refused to willingly lose the belt, so Vince did what he had to to protect his company. Some people will argue, "oh, but Bret would never leave with the belt", well, whoever says that is stupid because Vince trusted Alundra Blayze with the Women's title and she showed up in WCW and dumped it in the garbage, so I'm completely on Vince's side in that situation.

i just really wish thought they couldve done something like brett wins but gives a speech after the match and gives the title to michaels like they planned to do the next day which they couldnt cause wcw would sue.  i never looked that much into but have shawn and brett made up?

They don't totally hate each other, but I don't think they're good friends. Shawn said that if he was inducted into the Hall of Fame then he'd want Bret to give his introduction speech because he doesn't want somebody who'll sugarcoat it, he wants somebody to be truthful. Bret kinda blew that off.

I have plenty of matches I love. One of my personal favorites is Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania 21. That, in my opinion, is the perfect wrestling match. I still haven't seen Michaels vs. Undertaker from this year's Wrestlemania, but from what I've seen in highlights it looks flat out amazing.

Eric Bischoff had a brief roll in WWE as the GM of Raw, and was at one point co-GM with Austin. he got his quantum singularity kicked several times by Austin and others. he got "fired" from his roll as GM by Vince, and got literally thrown out with the trash and hasn't appeared on WWE tv since. he was involved with some of WWE's DVD projects like the Monday Night Wars DVD and NWO DVD.

him and Hogan teamed up to create 'Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling' which failed misserably. and he's written a book, 'Controvery Creates Cash' which is a good read btw. other than that, he's kinda disappeared

The Latest Update On Jeff Hardy

Since his departure from WWE last week, Jeff Hardyhas received numerous offers for personal appearances and independent dates.

Hardy's mindset is that he is not at all interested in doing any wrestling as he feels if he's going to do it, it will be for WWE. However, Hardy may do some signings, but it will be on his own time.

In the meantime, Hardy will be working on launching and producing a reality series featuring himself as well as performing live with his band.

Matt Hardy mentioned on his Twitter that he was filmed yesterday in North Carolina for the new Jeff Hardy DVD. The plan is for a 2-3 DVD set, with the goal to have it ready for the holiday season. Many top WWE talents were interviewed for the DVD. Shannon Moore may appear on the DVD, as he is a close Hardy friend and was at Summerslam this year.

nobody knows for sure how long Jeff Hardy may be gone from WWE. it could be for months, or it could be two years like Jericho

Jeff wanted a break from wrestling, and has a new reality show, so he'll be gone for a while. Yeah, after the TLC match at Summerslam between Punk and Jeff(fantastic match), Taker attacked Punk, so now they're starting a feud, they have a Submission match at Breaking Point. The Anaconda Vice vs. Hell's Triangle, can't wait! lol

Edge was in a tag team with Jericho, they were the tag champs, but Edge was going for a spear on Jeff Hardy and tore his Achilles...he should be back in December or January, they're setting up a big Edge/Jericho feud....and yeah, the Starship Pain is a split-legged corkscrew moonsault, it's pretty cool looking.
