Just picked this game back up for $5 and was surprised by the amount of games on the list but the community is awful still... I don't understand why people quit, just because you don't get a kill on round one... Glitching, quitting, and tons of *** is still everywhere in this game... I hate Gears 2 so I guess I'm done with this series for now...

Well It all depends I usually dont quit unless someone calls me, or if all of my teammates quit and the match its 1vs or 2vs4... but I was in this match, Im a complete noob i have no experience whatsoever with this game on MP but anyway, Im trying to improve and get the chainsaw cheevo... well it was a match 4vs4, and we lost 19 to 1...
What Ive learned, Hst has a great advantage, but you can kill him...
Never go solo, and use the lancer...
The shotty is 1 shot kill if aimed correctly...
I suck with the sniper rifle...
active reloads dont work if you dont aim at the target...
In gridlock everybody runs for the sniper rifle, even if they suck with it...
Its funny to use the chainsaw on a Pro...
It hilarious when you get 1 shot kill with the shotgun... how do you call it for  a 3 kills, by a noob?....

My suggestions, ignore everyone and try to learn from them... and practice your aiming without using the L button......

Thanks for the advice I guess? I'm a long time Gears of War player so I'm used to all the bullshit but I didn't expect it to still be around after all this time, would of thought all the newbies moved on to Gears 2.

yeah i dont understand it either. im fairly new to the gow1 online and im crap at it, but when you are loossing and some one jumps ship that is just annoying and the same thing happens when the other people are loosing and they bail as well, hell fight till the end weither you win or loose. need to practice more. but every once in a while your lucky enough to find a group of people who hang in there till the end.

i played four or five 10 rounders yesterday.
three or four of these games were ended by the host.
once on the very last round, when i had over 20 kills.

i can't wait to complete this game and break it in half.

the quitting pisses me off, but you just gotta know how to kill the glitchers and if they continue just keep on killing them and when the match is done, Report them to Xbox.

The lag is tremendously bad and finding a match with little to no lag is almost impossible.

I never quit, no matter how bad were loosing, or how many quit early..

it does make me laugh though when everyone runs for the sniper rifle on Gridlock.

Whan really annoys me is when other ""pro "" players give players grief for active downs and mellee downs..

They seem to forget that some people are going for achievements, and this is often the most expiedient way of putting

someone down without killing them, or killing them quickly & surviving the round.

I've gotta agree.  The current community automatically quits if he/she loses the 1st or 2nd round.
It's very frustrating as now I only play to get seriously and I fear I may never get that achievement.
11,000 kills in execution and 7,000 kills in warzone and nothing.........
when I get that (IF I ever) seriously achievement I'm going to eject the game and break it in half just like another person here said before me.

yeah i tried MP for the first time yesterday. and yeah as soon as the little"i got a participation trophey so im awesome as the rest "kids dump out after one loss.  i had one real fun long match. told the guy that was on my team he was good and thanks for the play. later on he sends me a message calling me all kinds of racial slurs and stuff. Real nice. so if ya play with casado expect him to send you text messages call you all kinds of names.  so yeah in about an hour i got turned off to the game. if someone wants to be a jerk on live thats fine with me. part of having people behind a screen and not face to face, but going out of your way to to type up a text?  im done complaining now, 

If you ever get pissed while playing Gears 1, just go play Gears 2. That game is such crap you'll be comming back wondering why you ever left.

Don't get too mad at this game because in the end, it is only a game. I'm always pissed off whenever I get killed so I make a temporary excuse, even when the kill wasn't cheap or anything (i.e. I get shot in the head by a sniper), but after a few seconds or so, I just accept it. There are many idiots in the community that have now said that every single thing that I have done to get a kill so far is cheap. Seriously.

These are the things that I've been ripped on for:
Shotgun-whoring
Grenade tagging
Chainsawing
Activeing
Hammer of Dawning (is that a word?)
Torque Bowing
Lancering
Boomshotting
Beat down
Pistoling
Troika-ing (XD it was great to hear all of the feedback after I wiped out the entire other team in 1 round on War Machine)

I think that there is always a negative way of looking at something and that's what the majority of the people do.

I'm a noob to GoW, and have not tried the online component yet.  All this is making me reluctant to even bother with trying it.  The SP game is OK, and I was really hoping that the MP was better, but it doesn't sound like it is.

Like me, they've probably gotten sick of hearing the high-pitched whine of 12-year-olds talking smack and complaining about getting killed at the same time.  I have a headset but rarely use it, because 90% of the conversations are more annoying than helpful (and I think I'm being generous, claiming that 10% of it is meaningful).

if you want to get any enjoyment out of gears online, play player matches with friends. if you actually want to go for the achievements, play ranked while in a party with friends.
