The online for Gears 1 is so much better. I cant stand Gears 2 online its just not the same and i dont like it

^ Haha, good post.  I also like Gears 1 much more.  You can also check my Gears 2 stats if you think it's because I suck.  1.7 k/d in execution and 1.9 in Warzone and I think the game sucks.

Honestly, I just hate the constant lag and random glitching it frickin' sucks! Although the main story and the multiplayer Are good, The multiplayers cons far outweigh the pros.

Sorry, but two-piecing, planted frags, and cringe smokes do not equal talent.  They noob'd Gears 2 up so much that it isn't even funny.  I used to love Gears 2 and hate Gears 1 when I first got my xbox because it was easier for me to get kills in GoW2. Now that I've been playing awhile I definitely like 1 better because generally the person killing you is better than you. It's not the guy that plants the most spawn frags or two-pieces the most that has the most success.

I won't even get in to host advantage, lag, bridgers, and hackers.  Gears 2 online is a joke compared to the original.

I agree with the whole lagging and hacking biz as a reason not to like #2, but my #1 BIGGEST REASONS TO HATE GOW2 ONLINE IS THE TWO PIECERS AND THE WAY IDIOTS BRAG ABOUT HOW THEIR SOOOO F*CKING 'BEAST' AND HOW THEY 'RAPED' YOU(ME, HIM, HER, ETC.) ITS REALLY JUST RETARDED, WHENEVER THEY SAY THAT I TELL 'EM TO PLAY GOW1 AND 1V1 ME AND I, AROUND 3/4 OF THE TIME WIN (I EVEN LET THEM HOST IT... *snicker snicker*)! Although its only around 3/4 of the time, sometimes they ARE really beastly... only sometimes though...

yes while gears 2 is a good game gears 1 is a great game

My biggest complaints about Gears 2 would probably be that it's too easy to chainsaw and the characters' movement doesn't have the flow that it does in Gears 1.  Shotgun damage also feels more random in Gears 2, but that may just be me.

Other things like grenade traps and smoke stuns can be annoying but can also add another fun element to the game in my opinion, so those don't bother me too much.  For the most part, I think I would be fine with the new additions to Gears 2 if they had just left the gameplay mechanics the same.

Gears 2 should've kept the same mechanics as #1.....maybe then I wouldn't of sold my gears 2 to buy an extra gears 1 disk...

I agree Gears one hands down is better then part two I don't even want to think about part 3. The online will be so different from part one and two that the original no stop action and in your face gameplay will be lost forever.

I don't think it'll be that bad, but it'll probably be bad. I've heard that the entire Delta Squad is going to die!! With the exception of Cole, I guess they don't wanna be racist or something.

I hadn't played Gears 1 in a long time, but I recently borrowed Gears 2 from a friend and I had forgotten how much the MP sucks in that game. So I decided to pop Gears 1 in, and damn--I forgot how good it is

Gears 2 campaign > Gears 1 campaign, but Gears 1 MP > Gears 2 MP

im think about picking this up for 9 bucks and it the platinum version. with the maps and achievements on another disc to download to hard drive. I want to play online so are there many people who play online? or should i just get gears 2 to play online? whats the population on gears 1.

You won't have any problems finding a multiplayer match in Gears 1. However if you are just starting to play Gears online you are more than likely going to have a rough time. The game is definitely not noob friendly and it's a harsh learning curve. Keep at it though, otherwise you will miss out on the best online experience the 360 has to offer!

Ranked Annex is a waste of time.  If you want the Annex achievements, just play player matches or you can even plug in a second controller and do them on a local match.

Stopped playing Gears 2 online back in December, only been back to it to mop up some Horde achievements (Horde is utter **** IMO and soul crushing to play).

Firefight in ODST is much better, you actually get a sense of being overwhelmed whereas Horde never made me feel like that.

Brute Chieftain with Gravity Hammer and Overshield  = **** scary.

Anyway I digress, I love Gears 1, don't play it nearly as much as I used to but still like playing a few matches before I play something else.

Rooftops and Tyro Station are my fave maps.

I just learned, recently, that the weapon 100 kills achievements must be done in execution or warzone, which has greatly crushed my spirits since i've been doin annex for awhile now and i thought i was gettin pretty close.
