I don't like Namco
I'm not much of a fan of Namco Bandai either but my depreciation is mainly aimed at their holding company as well as those jerks who deal with the third party negotiations. But on the other hand, I have nothing but respect for the Namco Tales Studio, formerly Wolf Team, because those guys are so talented. I find it incredible how they can create such beautiful worlds and such charming characters in their games. I got to meet Tales of Vesperia's character designer, Kōsuke Fujishima, at the last Tokyo Game Show. He's such a humble guy. I was drooling over how brilliant he was while he modestly credited the rest of the team with most of the success.
You know, speaking of Kousuke Fujishima. I found this lil' article at Sankaku Complex a few weeks ago, which compares manga artists' art styles from when they first started to now (like a 'Before & After' comparison).

Mr. Fujishima was the first artist to be shown (first video in the link). Hard to believe that the art in his 'Oh! My Godess!' series was iffy at first, but now it's the style we all know for the character designs.
I mean, can you imagine Rita, Estelle, Judith, and every other Tales babe looking in the style Fujishima had when he first started? I shudder at the thought.
