Hitman:Blood Money FAQ

Version 1.1

Should I buy it?

I don't know.  This is really the worst question you could possibly ask unless you were my best friend.  I don't know anything about you or what you like but here it is.  The game is great.  It's my favorite 360 game.  It has amazing replay value because of the almost endless ways to complete your mission.  If you were to go through one level 10 times in a row, I bet-if you tried-you could find something different to do each time.  Each difficulty adds a new challenge to the game.  It truly is an amazing game.  It is NOTHING like the demo.  Unlike the demo, they don't tell you what to do...ever.  They give you your targets, a map, and then you're on your own.

How do you get a silent assassin rating?

A silent assassin rating in Hitman is what it sounds like, don't be seen or heard (silent) and take out your targets (assassin).  It's basically means you have to be perfect.  In order to get a silent assassin, you CAN'T do any of the following:

  • Be detected (you must have 0 witnesses)
  • Leave any bodies unhidden (you must have 0 bodies found)
  • Be caught on camera (unless you steal the video tape)
  • Be caught changing clothes
  • Let anyone see your gun or poisons
  • Get a full red meter (it is possible to get an SA rating with a little red on your “!” meter as long as it goes down quickly.  As long as no one shoots at you [and it looks like they could be] you should be okay.  But if your meter is red you didn’t do something right.  Stay away from being red.

These are the things you CAN do:

  • Accident kills.
  • Silently kill your objectives
  • Leave your suit behind (all that happens is a $5000 fine)-You CAN'T do this on Pro difficulty
  • Leave your custom weapons behind (all that happens is a $5000 fine [each weapon])-You CAN'T do this on Pro difficulty
  • Place and detonate mines (as long as no one sees you place them)
  • Sedate civilians. (For clothes, etc.)

About bodies unhidden, if you successfully perform an accident kill, in your info screen it will say a body has been found, and officers are getting suspicious.  Don’t worry about this; it will not affect your rating.

What are the secret achievements?

Here are the secret achievements, the amount of gamerscore they’re worth, and a little explanation.

20G Accidents do happen...
A successful accident kill has been performed.

Simply put, all you have to do is perform an accident kill.  An accident kill is when you kill someone but make it look like it was no anyone’s fault.  I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but for instance, dropping a television on someone’s head would be an accident.

20G 47 kills in a mission
A mission has been completed with precisely 47 kills.

Well if you don’t understand what this one is, I don’t know what to say.  I suggest going in on an easier difficulty and saving after you get 10 kills.  Write it down or something.

50G Notorious
47 is the world's most wanted.

For this achievement, you must get a notoriety rating of 100/100.  To boost that up, go in a level and go crazy, shooting as many people as possible, not hiding bodies or doing anything right.  If you do this a few times you should get it no problem.

50G Redemption
You can't keep a good man down.

*Major Spoilers*:  On the final level when the credits are rolling, if you keep hitting left to right on the left thumbstick, 47 will come back to life.  Kill everyone on this level and you will unlock this achievement.

50G High Roller
$5,000,000 have been accumulated

Don’t think this one really needs an explanation.  If you have questions about gaining money and/or money earned when replaying missions there is more info down this page.

20G Special Rating
A Special Rating has been awarded

There are a few ways to get this achievement.  Basically, you need to get the "Russian Hare" rating to get this achievement.  There are a few ways of doing this.  You can do it on any level but "A New Life" is the easiest.  My walkthroughs will be on the level "A New Life."

  1. IMO, the hard way.  Kill all FBI agents.  In my opinion, this is the hard way but to each his own.  Go into "A New Life" with your sniper rifle.  Walk down the street past the main house and you'll see a lady planting flowers.  Sneak past her and go into the tree house (make sure she didn't see you.)  Go in the tree house and unpack your sniper.  Snipe towards the pool area and just keep killing FBI agents ONLY.  Also, you CAN'T miss (it'll be easier if you have the expanded clips upgrade and extra precision.)  It will take you some time just make sure that every one of them in the backyard is dead and not a single civilian.  Now, go to the house that's across the street from the main house.  Go in the garage and pick the lock (don't let anyone see you.)  Go in the backyard and snipe the FBI agents at the front door of the main house.  When you are confident they're down, go to the catering truck, lethally poison the donuts, and bring them to the van across the street.  This will kill them, go inside the van and take their clothes.  Now proceed with your objective like you were going for a silent assassin.  If there are any FBI agents alive, silently kill them, there shouldn't be though.  You can kill the objective guy, and do an accident kill on the wife to get the necklace, but no one else except FBI.  Then you can escape and you should get a "Russian Hare" rating and the achievement.  If you didn't get it, you probably missed a shot.
  2. IMO, the easy way.  Kill everybody.  Do everything I said to do in #1, except kill everybody including the FBI.  I think this way is easier because you CAN miss.  If you wanted you could go in with a pistol or machine gun but you probably wouldn't make it out alive.  Just snipe in the tree house (kill everyone) then go to the backyard and shoot the guys by the front door.  Make sure you kill the lady with her flowers and the garbage man.  Just run around the level crazily and kill everyone and you will get it.  Doesn't need too much of an explanation.

Can I replay missions and get more money?

Probably the most commonly mistaken question.  There are so many different theories but this one is correct.  I previously answered this question incorrectly.  Sorry about that.
When you replay a mission, the only money you will earn is the rating bonus.  You don't get any objective bonuses or anything else, just the rating bonus.

Where are all of the weapons?

Check here and also look down.  Thanks to Tal0c for this list.  I just arranged them by level.

Dragunov  - Death of a Showman (used for sniping exercise, drop in ICA crate to keep)

SAF SMG - A Vintage Year (carried by VIP guards)
TMP - A Vintage Year (from 1 target)
Snub Nosed - A Vintage Year (from 1 target)

SLP .40 Pistol - Curtains Down (from cops, very common)
MP5 - Curtains Down (carried by guards in black)

MP7 - A New Life (carried by FBI, and found in a crate)
Air Rifle - A New Life (in the tree house)

Desert Eagle - The Murder of Crows (from 1 target)
MP9 - The Murder of Crows (carried by yellow birds, and found in a crate)
KAZO TRG - The Murder of Crows (leaning on wall next to sniper crow)
SG552 - The Murder of Crows (leaning on a table by 1 target)

Bull .480 - Death on the Mississippi (carried by most of the gator gang)
FN-2000 - Death on the Mississippi (in a room on the staff only deck)

Six Shooter - Till Death do us Part (carried by most guys)
Shotgun - Till Death do us Part (common, 1 by the starting point)

SLP .40 S - House of Cards (from Henrick)

M14 - Amendment XXV (carried by US guards)

How do you collect these weapons?

There are 2 ways.  First of all, you can bring it out with you.  If you put it in your pocket, and keep it there, and then escape, you will have this weapon in the hideout and in your inventory.  Another way is to put it in an ICA box.  This is useful if it’s a non-concealable weapon, or if you're on a level where they search you.

I just purchased everything for my (insert gun name here) and I didn’t get the achievement.

You have to complete a level before you will get the achievement.  Keep in mind that you don’t have to use the gun on the mission; you don’t even need to bring it with.

What's the point of the ICA boxes?

There are a few of them.  First of all, on the easier difficulties, there should be some guns in there for you to take, the harder the difficulty, the less they give you.  Also, if you choose to bring a shotgun or assault rifle, it will be stored there.  You can also place weapons in the ICA boxes.  This is useful if you want to keep a weapon but don't want it because maybe you're about to be searched.  Or if the weapon is non-concealable.

How do you unlock Tier (#) Kruger Schmidt?

You will unlock this by progressing through the game.  It’s the next set of upgrades for you weapons.

HELP! I can’t get a silent assassin on (insert level name)

That’s really too bad isn’t it?  If you go by the SA rules, you shouldn’t have a problem.  If you don’t like doing that and enjoy cheating, you can watch SA videos for all of the levels…cheater.

http://www.achieve360points.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5721

What’s the point of the hideout?

There is none.  The hideout is where all of the weapons you found in levels in the game go.  So you can go there and shoot them at targets and glass.  Not very exciting, but it’s a cool feature that you don’t have to use if you don’t want.

Does anyone have any sound problems or is it just me?

It’s not just you.  There are some minor sound problems especially in the House of Cards mission.  When I say sound problems I mean someone may look as if they are/should be talking and they’re not.  If you have major sound problems it is just you.

What kind of nudity is in the game?

Believe it or not this is a commonly asked question.  On a few levels there are some girls with very little clothing.  VERY little.  But the only thing will see is their behind.  IMO, I would play this game with children around even on the levels with the partially naked girls.  It’s just a video game it does not look real.

I didn’t like the demo; I’m not getting this game!

The demo is NOTHING like the full game.  The demo is the training level for the game.  When I first played the demo I thought the game was going to be just like it saying Do this, now do this, snipe this, jump here, etc.  In fact, the full game doesn’t tell you anything.  As I said before, they give you some objectives, a map, and it’s up to you to decide how you want to complete the mission.  Also, in the demo there was HEAVY swearing.  I know this is a concern for some people, but let me tell you.  I’ve played through the whole game and could count on one hand how much swearing I’ve heard.

I think I covered the main questions asked.  Hopefully this will help some people out maybe even get pinned.  Just wanted to help the community.  Thanks

If this got pinned or just kept getting bumped we could really cut down on the useless topics.  There are so many of the same questions on the front page as there are here.  Come on now.

I just looked, and 10/24 threads on the first page alone are answered in this thread.  I'm not trying to act all cool cause I made a FAQ or anything I wouldn't care who made it.  I just think it's annoying to see the same stuff over and over.

Re: Hitman:Blood Money FAQ

I think the things you need to do to get Silent Asassin varies by difficulty level.

e.g. You can leave your suit behind on rookie, but you can't on Pro.

Similarly, I think you can have your Tension bar go all the way into red on Rookie (and Normal I think as at the end of one level I just made a run for it and was spotted, but still got SA).

I've noticed different people giving different advice on what you need to do, and I think it may be because people are playing the game on differing levels of difficulty...

You cannot leave suit or custom weapons behind on Expert and Pro and still get SA. That part of the FAQ should be fixed, otherwise it's great to have and should cut down on alot of questions.

I just left my suit and custom weapon behind on expert and got it.  I'm not sure about pro I'll have to look into that.  Thanks for pointing it out though.  I'm not trying to be all defensive I'd love to be corrected but you can do it on expert.

I see way too many of the same sort of questions and I'm hoping people will see this first.  I know there was one already but it only had 2 questions and that’s not too impressive so here it is.

But your meter is red you didn’t do something right.  Stay away from being red.

These are the things you CAN do:

  • Accident kills.
  • Silently kill your objectives
  • Leave your suit behind (all that happens is a $5000 fine)
  • Leave your custom weapons behind (all that happens is a $5000 fine [each weapon])
  • Place and detonate mines (as long as no one sees you place them)

About killing innocent people, on some levels you can kill innocent people, and on some you can’t.  I honestly don’t know which ones you can and cannot so my suggestion would be to try not to kill anyone and if you have to for clothes, knock them out with non-lethal poison.

About bodies unhidden, if you successfully perform an accident kill, in your info screen it will say a body has been found, and officers are getting suspicious.  Don’t worry about this; it will not affect your rating.

Can you replay levels and get more money?

Yes and no.  You can’t play through the level again and get all of the money you earned.  But, let’s say you got $2000 the first time, and then got $3000 the second time, $1000 would be added to your account.

What are the secret achievements?

Here are the secret achievements, the amount of gamerscore they’re worth, and a little explanation.

Accidents do happen...
A successful accident kill has been performed.                                              20G

Simply put, all you have to do is perform an accident kill.  An accident kill is when you kill someone but make it look like it was no anyone’s fault.  I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but for instance, dropping a television on someone’s head would be an accident.

*Major Spoilers*:  On the final level when the credits are rolling, if you keep hitting left to right on the left thumbstick, 47 will come back to life.  Kill everyone on this level and you will unlock this achievement.

High Roller
$5,000,000 have been accumulated                                                               50G

Don’t think this one really needs an explanation.  If you have questions about gaining money and/or money earned when replaying missions there is more info down this page.

Special Rating
A Special Rating has been awarded                                                                50G

This one’s a tough one.  For this achievement, you must kill ALL security personal, not be seen, and not miss a shot.  The easiest way to do this is to fire up a new life on rookie so you can save often.  You must bring a sniper rifle and it should be silenced.  Start off my going down the street and you will see a lady messing with her flowers.  Sneak past her and you’ll see a tree house.  Climb it and start sniping FBI guys.  DON’T MISS.  As I said try to save often.  Reinforcements will arrive and just keep plucking the security guards through the window.  When you’re sure they’re dead, climb down, don’t let the girl see you, and go to the catering truck and take the donuts back to starting point and poison them.  Walk up to the truck on the right side of the street and you should see an option of drop donuts or something like that.  2 FBI people will be in there and die from the donuts.  Not go get your sniper suitcase and across from Lennie’s house go in the garage and pick the lock, don’t be seen.  Now go to the window, set up your sniper and snipe the guard near the front door.  Go put your case down and go continue the mission like you would if you were going for a silent assassin rank.  If you see any FBI people (you shouldn’t) try to quietly kill them.  Save before you do that.  When you complete the objectives, go get you suit and sniper suitcase and Escape.

    Some more questions

1. ON "normal" mode it says 7 saves permitted. Is this for each level or for the game?

2. Before a mission when you "upgrade" weapons. a. Is there anyway to hide these beforehand in the mission layout?
    b. does the money it cost come out of your current total or the amount paid for the upcoming mission?
