Call of duty 2 had some of the most intense lvls in any game on veteran. If you managed to beat this game on vet without smashing up your controller in fury or throwing a brick through your tv tell us the hardest level you had to beat or if your still not yet complete the game tell us which level your currently fighting your way through.

lol..i havent even got that far on vet yet..im on like the 3rd russian lvl..and i already sometimes wanna like throw something across the room sometimes..lol...soo hard/..and i kno im in for a real fight in the later lvls..like the other guys mention for ex.Hill 400, ...

I'm playing CoD2 for the first time through on Veteran's mode.
Right now, I'm upto the very last mission in the British campaign (the last level of Rommel's Last Stand)

So far, the one you mentioned (where you have to connect the wires) has been the biggest ***. I must have died at least 40-50 times in that level. Besides that, Veteran's has been a somewhat smooth sail upto this point. I have a feeling that might change in the American campaign though.

Without a doubt the hardest level for me was the level of the british campaign where you enter the town in a truck and and are dropped off in alleyway and the germans are on top of the roofs on both sides.  After you use your smoke grenades to get out of that you go into a killing zome of machine gunners on a 180 degree angle, two machine gunners, and snipers on the roofs.

I think that laying down the wires is pretty tough because it is so long and the last part of the level takes forever.

I loved the game from start to finish.  i think it is the best game on the system but I also think Amped 3# is very underrated.it is pretty cheap new and on ebay.

The game altogether was intense but it wasn't so hard the I wanted to crush my controller to pieces. The hardest level for me was probably The Tiger mission (especially when clearing out the church). To be honest I found Hill 400 quite easy compared to the Tiger. If I also remember correctly the last mision, Crossing the Rhine, was pretty dfficult as well.

mmm..., maybe the first mission of D-Day or the 3rd mission in caen, when you have to capture the german HQ, I said all the curses I knew when I played on veteran!

D-Day.  *shakes fist at sky* Damn machinegunners!

For Hill 400 defending, when the artillery comes just hide in the building, the fox holes don't do anything for you.  I once hid in one and the artillery hit my hole twice. (Once to kill me, another just for the *** of it)

I can't really compare some of my experiences with vetran difficulty with others because I became drastically better at the game as I progressed, however, the hardest part of vetran was capturing the last bunker on top of hill 400.  I know the couch next to me didn't like Hill 400 as I was repeatedly punching it in fury.  Why do they seem to make the German AI so much better than the American AI?

A few have been tough for me. Like all of D-day or First on Hill 400. I beat them all though on my non-live account so I can't prove it. But the easiest by far is the tank one.

The battle of caen where you have to capture all those buildings like the church.

The rest of vet was easy....but for some reason i had problems with the very last part of battle of caen

Either Rommels Last Stand, or D-Day. Oh, and the one part where its raining on caen. I hate the levels where u have like 5 objectives and u have to clear out the houses.

I'm struggling my way through the same part(Hill 400 defense). Trying to take out the German mortar teams is driving me insane.

silo so far for me, I have been going back to that level for so long now, I have done all of the missions on vet except for "silo" and "pointe du hoc", and then I will get my achievement.

I just dont know if I will EVER do silo, I know I will eventually, but it is sooooo frustrating, some days I can breeze through building A and then struggle to get near the others, other days I cant even get INTO house A, then I have been quitting and trying other levels, I think I am just gonna take it one checkpoint at a time from now on, and watch BB's vids over and over and over ;-)

jeez, not even up to those levels and i already found some stuff pretty difficult :\

go around in an anti clock wise way. know the first ones near each other and then work anti clock wise. worked for me.

The whole thing... only thing easy for me was the tank mission... everything else has been equal.  I'm only up to D day though.  I just got there last night and can't get past the first checkpoint... COD2on vet is something I HATE doing but at the same time progressing through is so rewarding.

I just completed the game on veteran.  Two hard points stood out for me above all the rest:

1) D-Day - The Silo, specifically going from building A to clearng out building F. 

2) Stalingrad - Repairing the wire

 

Strangely, I did not have any trouble with the rest of D-Day, Caen, or the ambush at the beginning of Tunisia 1943 - Assault on Matmata.

The D-Day mission.  I had a rosery in my hand and was praying to God just to get to the next checkpoint.  Lol.  It would have been eaiser if the checkpoints weren't like so far apart.

For the sniper portion of Hill 400 -

As you work your way around the perimeter of  Hill 400 to take out the next mortar, you will see some little shelters you have to run under.  Hide in there for a while, and let your men catch up with you and clear out the area.  You can can then come out and snipe with a decent rate of success.  A couple of these little shelters have an AK 47 you can use to clear out some mortar teams and plenty of germans as well while you are waiting.  You still get shot in the back sometimes, but it shouldn't take too many tries between checkpoints.

The last part of Hill 400 defense -

Stay close to the stairs in the bunker, it will give you some good coverage.  Your men will form a good perimeter to help defend the three points the Germans will come from, you can move back and forth on the stairs  to help out wherever the germans are attacking and also to dodge grenades.  You must have a rocket launcher to take out the tigers, and I personally had better luck with a rifle than a machine gun.  I ran out of ammo with the machine gun with about a minute and a half left.

One bad idea is to try to take shelter in the bunker to recover, rest, or just plain hide (except during the mortar attacks where they tell everyone to find some cover).  If I went in there I quickly had three or four grenades thrown in there after me on a very short fuse.

the hardest thing i remember was trying to get past the machine gunnners on D-day after getting off the beach. I think veteran might be harder than legendary in halo 2

so far i have most people saying the wire repair and american lvls (mostly d-day) were the hardest and i have to agree. the american campaign took me the longest to complete (almost 3 months lol).
