what about jedi knight: jedi outcast for backwards compatibility. It seems like the backward compatibility team have over looked most decent games and worked on less popular games like barbie horse adventures -buffy -cabelas hunting games (get my drift).Geeezz this rant sure does feel good as i have many original xbox games jedi knight /d.a.h/doom 3 ressurection of evil/serious sam/republic commando and i'm regretting selling my original xbox and replacing it with the xbox 360 i hate games collecting dust.Even though backwards compatibility takes a lot of work and is much appriciated some times less (quality)games made is better than more pointless games produced.Thats it for my rant what do you think.

yeah i had this game on PC awesome online, from what ive seen on this game on the xbxo though its not even on xbox live is it?

This was a great game!  IMHO, the only reason it didn't catch on, was the lack of Live compatibility, but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked for backwards compatibility!!

As a single player first-person shooter, it is a great imersion into the Star Wars universe, and I'd vote for adding it to the queue for compatibility conversion.  This is one of my favorite games, and I'd like to revisit it on the 360.

Jedi Outcast was a much better game than Academy. The only thing academy has going for it was XBL play. I don't get how they can make academy BC but not Outcast since they use the same engine

 

I bought Jedi Academy from Gamestop.com, because all they had were 10 Jedi Outcast's and zero Academy's.

 

They sent me Outcast instead.  I've played both of these before, but now my son wants to play them too.  He may only get to experience Academy, since Outcast is BC.  dumb.  They should do it.  It's right there with the others in this series, an excellent game experience.  Please Bill, help us, won't you.

I went and bought this game today thinking it was backwards compatible, lo and behold I came home and my 360 says I dont wanna!!

Im revivng this thread because I really wanna play this game and Ive heard and seen a lot of good things a bout it

Yup - my husband just bought this game and he is pee-ossed! Oh well, time to get the original XBOX fixed - it is the third one that died. 

Our old one stopped reading games - can we replace the reader portion of the machine?

I just bought JO and I had just assumed it was BC since JA is.  Oh well, this sucks. 

I loved this game on the PC and truly wish they'd make it backwards compatible on the Xbox 360.

Jedi Outcast had outstanding combat controls & more balanced swordfights than Jedi Academy, plus it actually had a decent storyline.  It's too bad games like this aren't backwards compatible.

Jedi Outcast was one of the best games I've played in my entire life. Jedi Academy was a huge rush, they just wanted cash for the holidays and ruined the Jedi Knight franchise. Oh well. I have a clan on Jedi Academy for the pc now though. called Legends of the Force.

I'm pissed off too! I got JO and assumed it was bc because almost every other good star wars game is. I put it in and NOTHING! It is 10x better than academy, hands down no competition. I was so excited about getting it too.

look you've heard the rest now do whats right and make the best.  JEDI OUTCAST revolutionize the starwars experience.  Academy was poised to be a great sequel but was dodo compared to JO.  maybe since academy was the more recent game it was easier to convert but i really believe you should get crackn on OUTCAST IMMEDIATELY.  that means NOW.  im just kiddin unless you're going to do it

Battlefront & KOTOR series, great - but the Jedi Knight series were the games that kept the StarWars saga alive during the "time before Anakin".  Looking forward to Jedi Outcast and Jedi Starfighter to be added to the compatibility list.

I'd like to see J.O. back/compat just for you guys!

It's a great game but looks and plays fine on my old xbox and my pc version. I'm never in a hurry to see a title go back/compat unless it can do widescreen. Otherwise, they almost look better in 4:3 on the old machine anyway.

As far as Oucast -vs- Academy goes, here's my take...

For the xbox, Outcast is a GREAT single player campaign. Academy on the other hand, is less like a sequel and more like the online multiplayer component or extension of Outcast. 

Though they are apples and oranges, you can't fully enjoy one without the other.

My advice... if you've never played either, start with Outcast. Once you beat the campaign, hop online with Academy. They're both great in separate ways.
