    Hi everybody,
Thanks again for all the friend invites. I'm relatively new to this and I don't know you all too well apart from what I have read in the posts, I have to say I enjoyed reading the Troppo fiasco and the witty retort by BrokenFaerie (hopefully I won't look like too much of a Nerd writing the following). Since this is a 'old man'/Dad thing thought I'd see if anyone has any good Dad's Jokes. I need some new material. Not that there's anything wrong with the old stuff, just need to try a few new ones out. Found these ones and had a good chuckle - some real classics in there.

When my old man was asked what he would like to be called, he would always reply "Call me anything but late for dinner".

That ABC "Dad's joke page" was pretty funny, although I can't believe they didn't have these classics...

    Me "Dad, i'm bored!"

Dad, "And is your first name Floor or your last name Walk?"

    or

Me "Dad, I'm Hungry (or Thirsty)!"

Dad "Pleased to meet you Hungry"

Some of his lame jokes included...

Can a matchbox? No, but a tincan.

Two cockroaches had a fight, it ended in a drawer.

And finally, when I was a bit older and looking for work he would say "Did you see that job in the local rag, (long pause as I wait in anticipation) they're looking for someone to pick the fly sh*t out of pepper.

I guess the funniest thing is, I still use these jokes today, Hee HeeBig Smile [:D]!

Just too be atotal nerd: While I like fiest his books are somewhat mainstream these days (did I mention Broken has met him and he signed a book for her) Steven Erikson is by far the best I have ever read and I have read a *** of alot of books.

His books are full of violence magic main characters being killed off repeatedly and each of the 7 or so books so far are 800 odd pages long.

Gardens of the moon is the first one, 2 pages in and 50,000 soldiers are killed in an epic battle its awesome.

Filler books imo are essential as not only does it tie and explain things thoroughly but it gives you a bit of a breather and anticipation for what is about to happen.

So does this one tackle the Dasati origins and the Kelewan issue...?? (Don't have to fully explain it just a simple yes or no would suffice.)

It gets there on the Dsarti issue with heavy hints as to the origins of Bec... As to the kelewan side read it just for the whole Miranda & the assembly story & if you read it for one thing do so for the last 5 pages... say no more

Thanks Baygon will give his stuff a go. Agreed with you on fiest being more mainstream than some of the other Fantasy around, but I love his ability to create and grow charecters... You got to love Jimmy The Hand & got to hate the moment in the books when he dies.. Oh god im so sad.. (tries to behave all manlly and fails miserably)

First things first 1500kb/s allows you to host gears and is the standard that most people play online with, so yeah its good.

I'm going ADSL2 cause I have a cable connection which slows down as more people use it( its shared)

Magician is a masterpiece of a novel and I've got the special edition one too, I still read all his books but have just found them a little predictable and especially short. and yes i cried when Jimmy died.

David Gemmel is the Ultimate in action books,

Robert Jordan started well but drags his books out too much

George R R Martin is great but too slow to release books( 4years each)

and we should start a book club sitting around a fire in our slippers with a pipe in our teeth,

    Re: FEELING OLD !!!

Turn my back for two minutes and this threads blown out to 10 pages. Can some kind soul summarise all I missed since I chewed out that troppo git many pages ago?? Did he ever come back.

One thing I have noticed is the commendable swearing and attempts to circumvent the swear-filter - good oh, chaps and chapettes. I irked some people on certain other forum with my potty mouth.

I should get off my lazy donkey/horse hybrid and start adding some of you..... or just be lazy and wait for some of you to add/FR me....

edit... and I should learn to tpey porper
