Will you be able to make your own room, like in CoD3? I'd love the ability to disable perks..

You can party up in MP like in the previous title and enter Matchmaking.  As far as Private Matches, I don't know for sure, but given the new Playlist Update on COD4:MW, perhaps they will carry that over to WaW.  I do know IW was still trying to figure out how to disable Perks, without removing Perk Slot 1, so I'm not sure.  Maybe Treyarch will have 4 Perk Slots in WaW or something, where slot 1 is written seperately from the other 3 - good question.

I do however much prefer a well implemented class system in any MP FPS Game...

What do you mean by that?

Pre-selected kits that have different roles which promote teamplay to win, i.e.: Medic, Lieutenant, Engineer, etc.  All have different "special abilities" as well as limitations, but when the classes work together - the MP experience and ability to win increase exponentially.

Class systems work best (imo) in Objective Based Gametypes, this was implemented in Return to Castle Wolfenstein which pretty much set the bar, subsequent titles have now utilized that principle.

It was evident in Call of Duty 3, but they weren't balanced as well and Achievements got in the way - which is why it never really 100% took hold of teamplay.  Grey Matter Interactive developed RTCW, that team merged with Treyarch Studios and contributed to COD3 - which is where that aspect came from.

Youve raised some good points here Chef.  This is a topic worthy of debate.

I'd love to see the classes managed in a way which promotes teamplay.  I'd also like to see MP achievements, statistics and leaderboards largely abandoned.  The overkill of stats in COD4 made player so selfish that teamplay, outside of a clan, virtually impossible.  Sometimes even people within your clan got a bit selfish when a challenge was pending.

Completely agree Yes [Y]

"Happy Drinking"

Dissagree. People in pubb matches never really work as a team.

Taking away custom classes would be a huge mistake. We would be forced to use pointless classes. Remember how dumb the classes were for CoD4 LAN?

By creating your own classes players can have unique roles and different players can run unique strategies.

So the introduction of custom classes actually greatened team work.

Thats my view at least.

Last I heard, they were testing medic abilities in an S&D theatre, have not heard official word if it will make the cut - I pray it does.

This question has probably been asked so forgive me if it has.

In Co-op play do you have to have the systems linked to play or can me and a friend across town get down on some co-op?

Sorry, nothing to see here folks.

cod3 really wasn't that bad, it was just they messed up on when you aim down the sights they made it way to blurry and they added vehicles...treyarch messed up on one game a little bit...cod big red one was an awesome game...it wasn't as good as cod 1 but it was still good.

Thanks for the answer. Oh, and great job on the write up.

BTW, I am impressed with some of the posters on the WaW forum. Seems to be a little more mature and stray from the topic a lot less. Not that my opinion matters much but i just wanted to give some kudos to yall.

I know but Call of Duty 4 had one so who knows...but the only games I know that had a beta were Cod4 and Halo 3...was it to test out the new matchmaking that they used? That just ran across me lol

Ok I'm a little sick of people like this....its p2p hosting meaning someone hosts a game you connect or the matchmaking it determines who is the host...there are few games with servers and call of duty is not one of them

It is going to be nothing like cod3 it is just going to be made by the same developer and it is a good developer the first call of duty they made was excellent.
