Re: This Week in Xbox: Column feedback, discussion, Q&A, etc.

Hi : )

I am just going to reply to this older one:

 Denny Atkin wrote:

Let us know your favorite Xbox 360 party game. And while you're there, let us know what you'd like to see in Inside Xbox, on the Xbox.com site, what kinds of integration you'd like to see between your Xbox and the website, and to share what kind of fun stuff you've been doing with your 360.

My favorite party game on Xbox 360 is the DDR Universe series. Every Wednesday, one of the Gamerchix (Jujee) and I host game sessions on DDR. What makes DDR so great is that it is fun to play, and you are also burning calories as well. Probably the best part of DDR online though is the community.

Over the years that I have played DDR on the Xbox consoles, the people that you meet on there are always really nice and supportive - as well on the Xbox.com forums too. Can't say that for many games. DDR is one of a kind.

What I would like to see on Inside Xbox is more attention on games that are less mainstream. There are too many shooting games featured, and a variety (especially in the Insider videos) would be nice. Perhaps maybe some tips on some of the harder arcade games (N+ for example), or maybe revisiting old Xbox 360/Live Arcade games (such as Kameo, Alien Hominid, etc.)

A feature that definitely needs to be improved upon is previewing gamertagpics and themes. Many of them are not listed on Xbox.com, and the fact is they should be on the 360 - with nice big sized previews. One other feature I would like is the ability for us to hear voice messages on Xbox.com as well.

In regards to the last part of in "what fun stuff I've been doing with my 360" .. well unfortunately I can't use Windows Media Connect (I have Windows Vista Basic) so the only thing that I do use my 360 for is the USB slots - I keep my cell phone charger in one of them : )

Anyways, I have been reading "This Week in Xbox" for quite some time now, and I enjoy it very much. Its nice to be able to read articles that are written professionaly and not in a biased, fanboy manner as many other sites do.

Well, I suppose that's all for now.. oh, and I would love to have your job! I am in college in hopes of becoming something like this (aka Game Writer - although I would probably be more suited writing about family games better (Many shooting games terrify me) - [where is my Care Bears Xbox game?] ^_^

In response to:

"Let us know what you think of the game [GTA IV]"

My take on it is:

I don't really like that type of genre. Free roaming games bother me, and I find them boring.
To those that do play it, enjoy it. : )

Its nice to see you wrote "GTA IV is definitely not a game for the kids." - because I have a little story to tell.

A few months ago, I was at Toys R Us, and a Mom asked me:

"Where can I find GTA so I can purchase it for my 9 year old son?"

I asked her: "Do you know what GTA is?"

She replies: "No, but my son really wants it."

I told her that GTA is not suitable for children and told her about the ESRB. She seemed a bit confused, but ended up purchasing a Matrix game... lol.

Anyways, I was a bit dissapointed there was no arcade game this week because of GTA IV. When Halo 3 came out, there was one! Not every person who owns a 360 likes GTA. Why should those who don't like or play GTA have to suffer?

Its always nice to see a new arcade game every Wednesday - granted, I might not like them all - but that's alright ^_^

Re: This Week in Xbox: Column feedback, discussion, Q&A, etc.

Which of these games are you most looking forward to?

In response to that question, and the selection of games you mentioned - I would say Banjo Kazooie because its been so many years since its last been seen on a console. Rare makes wonderful games : )

I do have a question though - I have Assault Heroes 2 - and you say you can hijack vehicles? How do you do that?

How do you know which vehicles you can hijack, and what button do you press to hijack them? Granted, I'm only in Area 11, but I think by now I must have skipped something.. ^_^

Thanks.

I think we should be able to customize our own themes... Is that possible anymore?

Well you could apply a custom background, but the image would be applied to all blades. I haven't yet tested this on the new dashboard but it should work the same, I'll give it a go when I get on my 360 later.

It's still MK! ), EndWar, Fracture, Lips ( I already have RB and GH - BTW - Rock Band is better - no offense ), and Quantum of Solace. ( So basically I want a lot of shooting stuff ) for Christmas this year. And some Microsoft Points. Ohhhhh, ms......... :)

AMEN SILVERCUBE!! LOL I know kids in the 3rd grade that have it. Very sad. i like some free-roaming games, like Burnout Paradise ( yes, it is technically a free-roaming game ), Banjo-Kazooie, etc., but some games just cross the line. GTA is one of those games. Also, I don't know why there was no Arcade game either! WE COULD HAVE HAD STREET FIGHTER AND METEOS WEEKS EARLIER!!!!!

Well, I am certainly hoping that system problems are becoming less of a problem, SO happy the prices went down, absolutely LOVE the new LIVE experience and thoroughly wishing for an Elite under the tree this year...FINALLY!!! I have been obsessing over this the entire year. Well, that's just ONE of my Xmas Xbox wishes. Happy Holidays to all!

FroggyFHS,

What region are you in? Have you checked the game's details site on Xbox.com? The US Xbox.com site has the game slated for the 13th of March.

Hey Funnybird, you need to contact your regional Xbox support office. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any of the info/tools to look into problems like this.

Hey, Editer.  Lucky 13 X said I should try contacting you about the issue I'm having with not receiving the Xbox Newsletter.

I signed up for the Xbox Newsletter when I signed up for Xbox Live over a year ago and I have yet to receive one newsletter in my e-mail.

There's actually a few of us having this problem over in this thread here:

http://forums.xbox.com/25511050/ShowPost.aspx

Everything checks out fine in my Contact Preferences.  Boxes are checked for both the Xbox Newsletter / Marketing and Partner Marketing.  Since the day I signed up I added <xbox@email.xbox.com> to my address book so it wouldn't be blocked.  I double checked my e-mail client to make sure it wasn't being blocked too.

I've also tried resubmitting my e-mail address by going through the sign-up process again and a week goes by and nothing.  I'm not sure what else to do so if can help me out at all I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've tried unsubscribing both through the 'Communications Preferences' panel and by replying to the emails with UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject about 15 times now... no luck

I haven't received the newsletter for a while, possibly since changing my Windows Live ID (email address) a couple of months ago. My brother just received the UK "Halo Wars" newsletter and I never got it.

All of my contact details are up to date, the box is checked and 'xbox@email.xbox.com' is set as a safe sender.

Why am I not receiving the newsletter and what can I do to start receiving it?

Thanks.
