I have seen this posted on the 2K Sports forums but didnt see it here. Maybe I didnt look close enough but anyway, I need to see how many people are having this problem.

For me the game worked great for 3 weeks, no problems at all. Then, all of a sudden, I start a franchise and go to play my first game. I win the game. I hit exit to go out and play another. I dont get there. The game hangs on the load screen and I figure the system froze. It hasn't froze though cause I can still get the the 360 dashboard. the machine still works normally but the game hangs. So I restart it and go to a quick game.. play it.. never get back to the main menu. I even tried letting the demo run before I log in to play. After a few minutes I hit the button to start playing the game and it hangs on the load screen before I even get to where it tells you to "press start".

I have changed gamer profiles, created new profiles, created new "in game" profiles, and nothing works... I moved all my game saves from my offline profile to my online and started clean, but still the same.. game hangs on the load screen after games are over and your exiting out. I have heard of people fixing the problem by playing off memory cards, but I am not willing to pay ANOTHER 60 bucks or whatever they are charging for them (canadian) just to play a game that cost over 80 bucks after taxes anyway... Microsoft was the only one to offer help, and their solution was to return the Xbox.. 2k sports only solution was and I quote... "currrently the only solution we have is to reformat your hard drive."

Like I am willing to lose everything I have done, including the game hexic and all included extras that came on the harddrive to make up for a programming error on their part. They also said.. "We 'believe' there might be a file that people are downloading off xbox live marketplace that 'might' be causing this issue"

They BELIEVE and it MIGHT be the issue.. that does not inspire me with much confidence in 2k sports..

If anyone else has a fix for the problem or if they have any info from microsoft or 2k sports I would love to hear it..

sorry for the length of the post but I tend to say alot when I am pi$$ed.

I've been getting some wierd freezes.  Funny thing is this is the only game that has given me any problem so I have to think that it's the game itself and not my system.

same here.. Condemned was fine.. PGR3 fine.... call of duty 2.. fine.. hockey was fine too till 3 days ago... I started a franchise and downloaded the November roster update.. that was all I did between it working and not working.

There's been a roster update? I know everytime I go looking for friends playing on live it says downloading roster but it never askes if I want to actually download it like it normally would. I just thought that it was checking my roster.

???? has no one else had this problem? we have to force the issue here.. I have sent emails to 2k and microsoft wants me to send my machine back... I might have to go buy a memory card (spending hard earned money senselessly) just to keep my game saves,,, its ridiculous.

I am having the same problem.  You don't think it was the backward compatiable update do you.  I know it caused some Halo 2 problems do you think it may be the issue.  I can't pin point it because I also created a 2nd profile and got the load screen freeze after winning a game 16 to 4 and could not save it.  Know after every game it locks up on that screen.  Very upset for paying $60 for a game you can't even play.  I will try playing without the harddrive in and see what happens but every other game is working great so I don't know what the deal is but I am pretty upset,

this is the 360 version correct? Because the first couple days I had no problem now after I finish the game in franchise mode it goes to the loading screen and it freezes here, there are no scratches or anything on my disk. This is the only game that does it what the *** ?

just wondering if you guys have downloaded the halo 2 maps because i think this may be the problem. i downloaded the maps off live and played for a while. then immediately put nhl 2k6 in played through a game and bam it froze on the loading screen. It worked perfectly before downloading the halo 2 maps.  I formatted my drive and it started working again. hope this helps.

Yup i've downloaded them, have you  tried to delete them and then play 2k6 ? I might try that and see if it does anything.

I've been having the same issues.  It seems to do it only in Franchise, but I get so frustrated at the wasted time, that I've not checked every game mode.  I emailed 2k and the response was to erase all NHL saves, don't use the guide button, and try on another 360.  I erased the game saves, I don't use the guide button, I just wasn't able to try on another machine.  Nothing fixed it.  I am out of luck as far as returning it to the store, so as of right now, I'm waiting to hear back from them about my 90 day software warranty.  It is quite frustrating for the time being, but for now, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I can't even get the game to load up at all! I just get to the 2k Sports splash screen and it sits there. Any advice would be appreciated. Haven't had a problem with any other game!

SAME EXACT PROBLEM!! i have the 360 version and i started a season with no problem a few days ago, now whenever i finish a season game i get the neverening LOADING screen. this wasn't happening before and now i see a lot of others have this problem - what could it be?

I had this problem and tinkered with different things.  I have deleted the roster update and my 2k6 song list and am 17 games into my franchise with no problems.

I played my first game yesterday.  I picked "quick game" and played it offline with a friend.  It froze at the loading screen after the game.  Played a second- same result.

I never played any original Xbox games and haven't had problems with anything else.

I'm 0-2 at trying to get this game to work.  Nice going, 2K.

Same problem here. I'm actually 67 games into the Franchise mode. It just started today (1-06) and I havent downloaded any Halo stuff or any roster updates. Its really getting old playing for nothing. I guess I'll be taking it back to EB and avoid 2K games till they fix it.

I agree, this game was not worth the $80 I paid for it.  I created 2 players, added them to my team and started a season.  I got 2 games in and tried saving then it tells me my save is corrupt.  I deleted all saves off my HD then tried again and each time I get through a game the system freezes.  I know there's alot of problems that have been reported about the 360 but mine has been working fine for PGR3, COD 2, NFSMW and Quake 4 since i got it on Nov. 22.  I'm officially banning 2K Sports from my collection, this is pathetic.

i thought i had this problem fixed once i started a new profile and season,  but 7 games in and it's freezing again at the loading screen after my 7th seaosn game!?!?!   no way to get around it.

basically nhl2k6 is only good for multiplayer and one-off games, no season or franchise.  too many people are reporting this.  what a ripoff!!!!

argh - now i can't even save GAME ONE of a season.   this sucks!

hey guys  - here's some info i got from hometheaterforum.com :

"This bug has to do with injuries and line changes you or the cpu makes during the season from the management/ line changes screen. I hear if you only make moves from the main roster listing and not the edit lines screen, then it will not cause the error. I just started a season and turned all injuries off and don't edit and lines and mine hasn't froze up since."

so at least this might be an answer.  

what a load of BS.  2K better be working on a patch for this or they better be working to give people their money back.  What a complete waste of money.

i would think there should be a patch too, but like i said someone told me in another thread that this has been a problem with the franchise since nhl 2k4!!  that makes me think they just don't care (don't know if the nhl series is a big seller for them?)

this sucks, now i can't save ANY games!   i've tried starting over several times (deleting the game save and profile save) and i can't save ONE game in season mode.   it's funny how it started off fine when i bought it, and now a week later won't let me save anything, just freezes there on the loading screen when i exit a completed game.

PS - i turned off injuries so that workaround didn't help me.

Hockey??? NHL2k6, puck this game man. I deleted all my files and I still get the freezed loading screen! I hate you KUSH 2k games. I'm never spending anymor emoney on you rPOS games! Fix this "freezed loading screeen" now!

I have the same issue.  I thinkit started when I was playing while my XBL connection was intermittent (my router was being flaky).  VERY annoying.

I deleted all my NhL2K6 files, still no good. 

i have the same issue, as i stated on the 2k6 forums. It didnt start until 2 days ago during a free skate session in franchise mode, when i exit it hangs on the loading screen. I restart the game go and do scrimmage in franchise and when i quit the same thing happens. I restart the game, try a quick game and the same thing, then i deleted everything but my profile, and the franchise i am farthest along in and start another franchise only to have the same thing happen. I refuse to pay for a memory card to try and solve a problem that the game makers should have taken care of in the first place.

This has also just recently started with me. I don't play XBox live or anything, and I've been able to operate a franchise as well as play 2 player games against friends for about a month. However, now after every game or practice (as soon as I hit that 'quit' button), the loading screen comes on, and just never leaves.

I was hoping I wasn't the only person experiencing this.
