Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Ok, the following are really making me freak!

Hoth Battle

Falcon Flight

Speeder Showdown

Death Star II

What Tips do you have to win these levels?  I can't find enough hearts to stay alive half way through them.

you have to take it slowly, and try not to fire a lot only when yo need to because then you are drawing attention to your self. thats all i can think of.

the best way is to beat the game, and unlock the ghosts of yoda, kenobi, and anakin.  Then buy them, and replay the levels with no extras and that's how I did it.  Enemies don't attack if you are a ghost.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Got the first three - but still trying for DSII.

My tips:

1. Hoth Battle

On the opening section - grab the bomb and get it to blow open the doors as soon as possible - don't mess around trying to kill off a pile of stuff.

Second section - no special guide here - just get through it as per normal.

Final section where you get all the different empire stuff thrown at you - I found if you fly in spirals just cleaning out what is visble on the screen, before looping about half a screen left or right, you'll usually get enough warning of what's coming to blow it up without getting blown up yourself.

2. Falcon Flight

I use the method noted on another post somewhere - can't remember who so apologies.

For most of it, fly direct - blow up as little as possible to create minimum debris. Then when it comes down to the final big spinning rock - fly in circles in front of it, continually firing you blasters, while picking up torpedoes and dropping them in as the targets appear.

3. Speeders

To be honest, this one seemed pretty straightforward. - Use a ghost so that the bits on the ground are handled without dying. While on the speeders, don't feel the need to try to keep up reklessly with the troopers.  They'll keep coming round and you'll get them eventually.

All the best.

Ditto with me. It seems the parts I usually die at on Death Star II is the part where I'm navigating to the core. That's what always gets me. Getting out, no prob, destroying the Star Destroyers, no prob, getting in, major problem.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Try and take it as slow as possible and stay calm.

In Death Star II and Falcon, don't shoot unless you have to - the explosions create too much confusion on screen.

If you get down to 2 hearts don't progress any further until you've got your hearts back to 4. Don't stop picking up hearts even if your health is at 4. It's a lot easier keeping your health at four hearts than panicking when it gets down to one.

Go the most direct way through the level and don't worry about collect studs.

In Hoth, if the little flying things grab the bomb just drop it (press B) and get another (or shoot them and then re-hook it). In the first two sections clear the path ahead of anything that can shoot you before attempting to use the bombs. In the 2nd section take down the 1st big walker thing first as it shoots directly at where you pick up the bombs. Keep shooting the whole time you're wrapping the tie rope around its legs.

Use the Tie Interceptor where you can, although you'll be stuck with the Snowspeeder for most of Hoth.

In the Speeder Showdown level just try and slow down when near the trees. If you miss a heart you can back track to pick it up.

Press A to do a barrell roll (or a loop in Speeder Showdown) to avoid fire.

Don't give up! I never thought I'd get the achievements but it's not impossible by any means.

Good luck Smile [:)]

I passed the DSII level undefeated after only a few tries this past weekend.  My advice would be to use the interceptor and just barrel-roll almost constantly.   Seems easy to avoid taking damage this way...

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

use the tie interceptor.. it has a high rate of fire and pretty good life.  Sometimes when I need life I do an S-shape manuever until I kill some ties to give me hearts, or I tap A and do flips.

Inside the Death Star II, use the millenium falcon once you get inside the core.

I also have loads of problems with getting the DSII lvl undefeated ive tried loads of time. I keep dyeing on the way into the core and mainly around the place where the 2 guns are located if i get the guns blasted i get hit by ties from behind and if i consentrate on killing the ties i get killed by the guns :S

Just did Falcon Flight and Speeder Showdown on my first try... Use the TIE Interceptor for Falcon and don't shoot the rocks until you need bombs or hearts... Also when entering the mouth near the end switch to Y-Wing Fighter because it can hold 5 instead of 3...

For Speeder use a ghost character so you can't die during gameplay, and shoot constantly while on the speeder bike...

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

It's pretty simple- just take it in a relaxed mood.  When you get to the point that you want to throw your controller, don't.  If it breaks, you'll be embarrassed to tell your friends that Lego Star Wars upset you.

Just use the Slave 1, Twin Ion Engine (who knew that here?) Intercepter, and the Falcon.  Use the falcon while being chased- it can shoot backwards with it's rotating cannon.  The Slave 1 is maneurverable and powerful, and the Intercepter is very fast.  I did it switching back and forth, and my right bumper's broken!

peace.

For those of you wondering, I do have a gold account.

Finally made it! Thanks to all the great advice from everyone.
Besides the interceptor, and the falcon once into the core, as many recommended,
the y-wing was a breeze to go out.

DSII is the only one I lack -- the other ship levels, while not easy, were doable after a few tries.  I found the Y-wing very useful on Falcon Flight because the Y-wing will carry 5 torpedos, so you don't have to turn back to get more.

I finally beat DSII last night, after a couple dozen tries, so don't give up.  I used the intercepter the entire level and did a lot of dodging/rolls.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Hi all Seems that theres a few different ways to get these. just thought i'd add mine for the two i have incase it works for you too.

In speeder show down i just held down the fire button and went around the level at normal speed ie don't push forward on the left stick because it makes you go faster. I found that this cleared all the clutter out and got rid of the turrets that shoot at you. Weave left and right near the turrets it makes it harder for them to hit you. After about 2 or 3 laps they'll be gone. Use a ghost character when your not on the speeder bike. Its worth a few attempts just to get use to the layout of the level.

Rebel attack. I used the falcon. The turret will shoot at the closest target. So if you do wide circles around the turrets they can't hit you but your turret shoots at them. This is very usefull in the last stage where there are 12(?) turrets that you have to kill befor going for the exhaust port with a torp. Ialso  found that if you avoid flying in a straight line you get hit less aswell.

good luck

Yes.

You can use a ghost character for the normal levels but unfortunately the flying levels require good old fashioned luck, I mean skill

They are not that hard.  In Deathstar 2 on your way to the core use Tie Interceptor just keep barrel rolling and shooting.  Everything else is butter.

Any advice for beating the core. I try to use the falcon but I have only been able to get out once and of course died in the blast.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I got it. I used the Tie intercepter until I blew up the core and then switched to the Ywing. In the Death Star barrel roll until you need hearts and then just use the "S" move to kill everything. The Tie intercepter has a much greater rate of fire than the Falcon for the core.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!
Death Star II is the most difficult undefeated challenge.  It took me probably 10-12 attempts, but eventually I got it using a tie interceptor.  Try not to let those missles do too much damage before you enter the core.  Once you are in the core, beware the lightning turrents and only try to attack them head on.

I used a tie intereceptor on the way out as well.

If I'm crazy I'm right, if I'm wrong, good.
