For this I would pay 2400 points, please bring it back, and let me save a copy on my flash drive as a backup, since my xbox is on the fritz.

Re: Welcome!
Hi. Before the release of Xbox Originals on the 360 Marketplace I was able to use the backwards campatability of my 360 to play the game Fable. After the release It seems my Xbox 360 was downgraded so that I cannot play Fable with my current Version. Now either there is something wrong with my Xbox or Microsoft decided to scratch the backwards compatability of the Xbox 360. Someone please explain.

Why can´t europeans download these games? Will we have to wait longer or something? And why are they OFFERING us to download only to say it´s not open for our REGION? That isn´t nice!

Rest assured, it's not a business/licensing issue. It's actually a personal beef with Europe.

Re: Welcome!
the main reason MS did this is for more money, and i know if i lived 15 minutes from a gamestore i'd support this method especially since xbox games are ex'd out of the picture so your best bet is either this or ebay, i have only seen used copies of xbox games being sold, of course that's just browsing through since i don't really care about the original xbox :P

is anybody even thinking
yo is anybody even thinking like ms would think maybe they arent doing this for the people who have the discs.
maybe they are doing this for people who never played or broke their disc and wanted to play again, i mean think about it it would be a pain in the *** to build completely new modes for stuff like halo:ce i mean i know they could do it but frankly i think microsoft is more worried about other bigger things like releasing new games and and keeping xbox live running. think about it if ms tried to cater to everyone no one would be happy maybe some dont want halo:ce online maybe some do its opinion. but i have to admit they should put fable tlc on the list but then again some people might not be happy. as much sales as them doing stuff like that they are running on a emulator and it might cause problems for live then guess what since ms tried to put live on halo:ce now we dont have halo3 or cod4 then what do we do since we complained about one thing they try to fix it and we end up losing everything.

does anyone see what im trying to say

The game developers have nothing to do with the Live service itself.

So your logic in and of itself makes no sense.

That's like stating that the reason why the RRoD has never been properly solved is due to the man-hours devoted to Halo 3 by Bungie.

Halo: Combat Evovled Questions

I have four questions about the Halo: Combat Evovled game that is now currently available for download at Xbox Live Marketplace.

1. My first question is if I pay 1200 Microsoft points to download this game and I only downloaded 1/4 of this game and I stopped, will I be able to open my 360 again and continue the download or do I have to spend another 1200 Microsoft points?

2. Is this the full Halo: Combat Evovled game that is for download? If it is, could I play Halo Multiplayer on my Xbox 360? Is downloading this game same as if I were to go and but the disc it self? Does the disc itslef have more content than if I were going to download it through Marketplace?

3. Do you recommend me to buy this game or buy Microsoft points and download this game instead?

4. How big is this file if I were going to download this content?

I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.Big Smile [:D]

Re: Halo: Combat Evovled Questions
1) Yes. You can also re-download it at any time just like any other purchase made over XBL. As long as YOUR account paid for the content then you can continue the download/re-download at anytime.

2) The exact same thing as going out and buying the original disc. Full copy. And for multiplayer it would have to be either local or system-link just like the original.(No online additions made unfortunately. Not sure if the old xbox connect or whatever it's called still works or not though)

3) Calculate it out and see if there is any difference in the price. Myself I got the points so I could get other content as well and with the downloaded copy you never have to worry about a scratched disk (Hefty amount of HD space though unless you have the 120gb HDD.

4) 2.3gb

Some people say if you play this game on disc you get better framerate. Is this true?

Re: Halo: Combat Evovled Questions
This could very well be true. The original was pretty choppy at times (anyone continuously hit a Jackal corpse?) But they do mention that despite being tested, it may still possess unseen glitches.

Re: Welcome!
I own both a 360 and a ps3.  and even though the 360 has some better games right now, it won't for long (halo 3 and bioshock have already gotten old.) my ps3 is really starting to get more "me" time.  If this was one of those love shows on VH1 or MTV the 360 would be getting the boot.  I thought that it was great they were releasing old xbox games (I'm a previous ps/ps2 owner) and never really got into to halo, but if I have to pay 15 dollars for something that I can only play on my console whats the point?  ya, it gets rid of the disc but I can't take my hard drive to a freinds house and play it if he doesn't have online connection?  (Correct me if I'm wrong) Plus my ps3 has free downloads, free themes, free gamer pics, free online, and is going to last longer than the 360.  I love my 360 for games like Dead Rising, but if they (microsoft) doesn't stop nickel and diming everything they are going to start losing customers.

i almost bought this because i definately thought they made it online multiplayer.  why would anyone want this?  if microsoft would have put a little effort in and did that they would have made alot of money.  instead they just made me angry and lost the download money from me and all of my friends!

Re: Welcome!
I would think twice on that. If you go to their site at gamestop you can see that the only version they still carry is fable for pc. They do have a nice strategy guide if you want though. I went to both the stores in my area and they didn't have any in stock. This game can still be found fairly easy.

Re: Welcome!
Why is there Fable but no lost chapters included with it? There is no reason other then to make more money off people who act before they think. The game Fable was what fifty bucks? and the lost chapters when it came out was Forty bucks. Now there is Fable on Xbox Live but there is no Lost Chapters included with it. I argue that Since Fable The Lost Chapters was realeased for the original Xbox that it is indeed an xbox original. So why not have it included with the game at launch? To some it may have been a crappy game but I personally feel that it was one of the best games out there. I bought both copies and I will not repeat the same mistake again. I hope that your company puts out the lost chapters and just takes the other one down because it is such a mistake to have a unfinished game sitting in the xbox originals section. Its like the fourth of july but they only hand out sparklers. Its like opening a lemonade stand but you only give the customers water and sugar. Its like have the ultimate cheat code but the only way to unlock it is to break the game disc in half. A lot of hype about nothing.  Can Microsoft fix this mistake after all the other mistakes?Confused [8-)]

I dont like this idea.  I prefer that games remain on there respective console.  I dont have xbox live and Ive kept my orignal xbox and Im not going to want to buy anymore xbo or xbo360 games if Microsoft are just going to release upgraded versions of them later over xbox live.

XBOX Originals aren't "updated versions" they are simply downloadable versions in case you missed it on the first XBOX and can't find it in shops anymore.

Re: Welcome!

i dont know im starting to change my mind on this. in a perfect would all the old classics would be remade espically with online but at east we can get these games as they were which is better than nothing. had a look in my local game shop and couldnt find any decent old xbox games. i moan the 1st time this was annouced but now i have 3 original games downloaded and i want more! now! and i have alot of games i missed the 1st time that i cant wait to try ninja gaiden, shenmue 2, silent hill 2, baldurs gate, black, blinxs, conker live & reloaded, dreamfall longest journey, morrowind, fatal frame, grabbed by the ghoulies, leisure suit larry, manhunt, myst III, outrun 2, star wars knights of the old republic, the thing,

ok not all of these were triple A titles but thats where this is so good all the games uve missed and didnt have the chance to play r easily avalible, and the ones with online become much more accessible to play with your friends and ups the numbers of users u dont know.

the truth is no company is going to put money in rewriting code for last generation games because it would involve so much more time and than an old arcade game or even an old n64 game

2 points from me today.

1. this one regarding the quote above. Shaunford if you want to talk about how your ps3 is getting better looking go somewhere else. Not only is this forum about x-box originals but it's about x-box. Not a overpriced computer with a controller and a online lobby.

2. I understand that MS might not be doing it for everyone. Maybe there just trying to resell old games to up there profit where they see they can. But I would like it if they allowed x-box faithfuls who have there disc download the games for free.  I would find it somewhat easy "put in the game into 360, it reads the one of a kind bar code that each disk is given and bam 1200 points turns to zero." this would allow ppl how bought it to play it,  and on top of that ppl couldn't use the same disk because the bar code would be void after the first profial uses it.
