Re: SV: Re: RETURN, REPAIR, and SHIPPING DISCUSSION (Thread 2)

I printed off the lable and took it down to the shipping station. They packed and boxed 'er up for me pretty cheap. It said my warrantee had expired, but there was no cost for the fix. (other then being an inconveinance so far; and a regular thing for customers.  the 'Station 2' aint what it used to be, ya know, loads take forever!)

I have shipped my Xbox, and it is in route to "Fix-a-Box" factories..hoping to see it (one) back in a few short weeks..

Does anyone know if I get an Elite Back? or do they just give you the next random referb in line once they get the one you send in?

Re: RETURN, REPAIR, and SHIPPING DISCUSSION (Thread 2)
Yes if only it was our fault, I had mine fail 13 months after purchase. Sent away and fixed for $200. Funny enough its now shagged again. I found out from microsoft in the last few days that on the 5th Jul 2007 they brought in the enhanced warranty to cover specifically the red rings fault. I sent mine on the 6th Jul 2007 for this repair and do you think they said anything about it? Not a chance, they took my $200 and sent it back. Now i find out its got 3 year from purchase, second fail 3yr and 3mnth so they wont do s h i t. Their email said I would be refunded my repair and so I phoned the help line. Conveniently my serial number from my console apparently is not on their records as ever being repaired and they told me there will be no refund, however they somehow already had my name and address and all my details???? I am very disappointed with the after sale service and they more or less told me on the phone I must have been making it up. I think they suck now and there is no way I'd be stupid enough to be on my 10th console......................are you kidding, go and buy Playstation 3 instead.

Re: RETURN, REPAIR, and SHIPPING DISCUSSION (Thread 2)
My 4th 360 stopped reading disc June 21, 2009. I called Xbox Support and they said my warranty had expired on June 17th. Great 4 days late! I ask the CSR if they would wave the $99.99 service fee, and was told Hell No! HaHa. On the 22nd I order my repair and printed off my shipping label, removed the Hard Drive and Faceplate , boxed it and shipped it out that evening. The repair center got it on Friday.

M.
Four Days Not too bad.
I check the status every day the on the 30th I see,
US 06/30/2009 7:10 A.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
So I check and sure enough they are sending me back a referb. w/ a different serial#, I went to UPS web site and checked their info, which had delivery date set for July 6th. To my surprise I got my 360 yesterday July 3rd.
WEST CARROLLTON,
OH,  US
07/03/2009 11:18 A.M. DELIVERY
And it works!

Now my problem is because I was out of warranty and had to pay the $99.99 repair charge, I'm to get a new full 1yr warranty right! If I got my 360 on the 3rd of July my warranty should be until July 3rd, 2010 but when I check my info on Xbox.com it states June 29th, 2010.

Xbox 360 Elite System: Serial #: 3xx9xx6x05xx

Standard Warranty: Expires: 06/29/2010

Ok that is 4 days shy of 1yr, which is how many days out off warranty I was when I called Support.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

I sent my Elite in on 6/29/09(three rings) via UPS and MS received it on 7/2/09,
fixed it and sent it out on 7/3/09 and I should receive it later this week.

Not a bad turn around time. Hopefully, its fixed.Smile [:)]

Re: RETURN, REPAIR, and SHIPPING DISCUSSION (Thread 2)
So i recently got an error in my 360 (not RROD, the E74 one)
I have to ship it in but I'm not sure what to do specifiacally.
For starters do I have to pay for the shipping or does the Print out thing cover that?
Plus, Do I only have to put it in a box and tape the label on or what?
And also, it said my warrenty was expired yet the cost for repairs was $0.00, is the error covered by the whole free RROD repairs thing?
Any help would be appreciated.

I took mine to the local UPS shipping store and they boxed and packaged it for me for under $4.00 (I figure if it costs me under four dollars to ship and get my Xbox reparied, [referb'd..w/e..] then I have no problem, as that is a reasonably low cost fix) -- other then the time its taking

ship the counsole only; no cords, no hard-drive, nothing but the Xbox.. I shipped mine last wed, and they still havent gotten it, status says its in route somewhere in TX.. but it was a holiday too, so I am sure that was a factor in the shipping/receiving of things this past week/weekend..
There are a couple games I feel like playing now too..oh well, gotta wait till they get it finished.

also there should be no charge if its the 3/4 rings problem.. they recently extended the warrantee for the 3ring problem (although I have not heard anything about them actually FIXING the source of the red ring problem; heat issues)

Technically, shiiping is free. If you take it to a UPS store they will charge you for a box
and packaging.

I boxed it up myself and took it to work with me. My company has a daily UPS pick-up.
I just gave it to the UPS driver and thats it.

I believe now you have to provide your own box but you can print off the label. And they will repair your console if they can if not you get a refurb.

I used bubble wrap when I packed mine.

Newspaper should be fine, just make sure it doesn't move around
in the box.

The repair centre recieved my 360 last friday, and now for some reason when I check the status of the repair online it now says no pending repair, does this mean that my 360 has been fixed and is being sent back to me, or has microsoft lost my console?

It takes UPS 3 days for some reason to deliver it down in Texas, they got mine on a Tuesday at the UPS center and waited till Friday to deliver it. Same thing in the way back took 3 days after it was fixed to pick it up.
This is UPS's fault not Microsoft

Just got my xbox back yesterday from microsoft for 3RROD.  I played 1 day & yep it has 3RROD. LOL whats the problem???? I think Im gonna just fix it myself because:

  1. It will be much faster
  2. Once I fix it this wont ever happen again.
This will be my 3rd xbox. this is very sad microsoft. I wonder why so many ppl buy a ps3???

Checked on the status today;
They have rec'd and repaired (or Re-ferb'd) my counsole, which now has new warrantee.

should be here in the next few days; I am guessing I will get it early part of next week. I am praying now that this wont be an issue again, or the plan to get PS3 will be quicker to come to fruition.
I will post back here when I receive my console to confirm if they switched or fixed..
