Hey Denny and the Xbox Gang...
I don't now if this is the proper forum to post this question/concern, but here goes...  I am serving with the US Army and I am stationed in Germany.  I love Xbox live!  It allows me to keep in touch and play games with my dad and nephew back in the States, as well as my German bros.  I have have met lots of cool people over the year I have been a gold member coldn't imagine life without it.  HOWEVER, something really bums me out... not being able to download certain content including certain map packs, movies, TV shows, or music videos.  I understand it has to do with worldwide licensing issues, but I am a US citizen, residing on post which is a US territory, and paying with a US credit card with a US billing address!!  Is there no way around this?  We are all combat units over here and all deploy to Iraq/Afghanistan... can't Xbox go the extra mile for us so we can also enjoy features like the Netflix service?  Man, what I wouldn't give to watch the variety of US TV shows you offer instead of AFN and all the lame German TV! Somehow, I am able to download the same music videos that Live has from Zune Marketplace, so there has to be a solution to help out Xbox loyal servicemembers serving overseas!  Thanks for listening!!

Hey, Editer:

Sorry to bother you with this again but I was just curious if there's been any update on what is causing some of us not to receive the Xbox Newsletter in our e-mail.  You mentioned that you passed the forum link I provided before to the people that create the newsletter, but no one has contacted us in that thread yet to help us troubleshoot the problem.

Connection Speeds
I dont know if im in the right place for this but here it goes. Is 1 mbps a fast enough connection speed for online gaming.?

not really;3 or more just for the xbox alone anyother devices runnin' on your connection will cause some lag issues

When is Microsoft going to make an official announcement about the problems with the 8/11/9 update causing some xbox 360's to get the red rings of death. Other problems have been reported on the forums  that are related if not caused by the update. My xbox 360 did get the RROD after downloading the update. I understand it is a minority of units that are affected out of more than a milliion units. Wanna get it back before L4D 2 comes out.

Sorry to hear your Xbox failed. Have you contacted support, or used the Xbox.com support section? Any diagnosis would have to come from the support folks, but as I understand it, any Xbox failures that coincided with the update were just an unfortunate coincidence - it's not directly related, just a case of coincidental timing. (That is, the box was on the edge of having a problem already, and it just happened to fail during the update.)

At any rate, the turnaround is pretty quick nowadays, and you should have the repaired Xbox back loooong before L4D2 ships.

Anyway, the support guys are the ones who can help here, so definitely file an online report or give them a call.

Many others have had similar problems. When I updated my xbox it must have failed. When the update failed it fried a component on the motherboard of my xbox somehow. I have done some resaerech here and on ther sites. I have called coustmer support and aslo extended my warrenty a full year just in case. Even if you don't think so, if the update failed like I think it did, when I put my harddrive back on my 360 (if the update is corrupted.) could it cause my 360 to encounter the RROD again?

Hey Denny, My name is Denny as well so I feel like I can be blunt with you since both our names suck. There is no coincidence. There are hundreds if not thousands of failures immediately after the update. That kind of coincidence is only happens in religion. Nice try though! Meanwhile I'm signing up for class action, and sueing you all for extortion. Yes extortion! You let us invest in thousands of dollars of equipment and software and you shut us down so we have to buy more units. -Denny

the link you posted to follow isn't clickable(march2 doesn't;jan.2 is clickable BUT the post is gone );i've been signed up for the the newsletter also since i got my 360 anyway,i even re-did the sign-up.the only thing i got is when i signed up for the update testing and since then my dashboard has been lagging.
when i first sign in i have to wait about 3 mins. after it says thetruecamel is signed in before the dash loads;when i come out of a game(worse with arcade games) it takes 3-5 mins. for dash to load.
