You think their going to do that, when they wont even fix the game quake 4? Well id also like to think so.

They don't have to fix Q4, the pc version is being maintained entirely by it's vast and dedicated community, including the release of several new map packs, bug fixes and customization mods. ID software basically just had to deliver the primary engine, the players did everything else. So why would they even bother with fixing the X360 version, seeing as they never had to do anything but release it.

If they include Capture the Flag and mplayer on all maps (including single player levels), and definitely options that include the graphling hook ( <3 that weapon ) I'd definitely want to play that... Some of those levels were absolutely incredible with CTF ( the first secret level for instances, which had low gravity )...I'd kill for Quake 1 on XBL Market place!
I've been saying this for ages since Quake 4 was released. BRING QUAKE 1 TO THE ARCADES!!! Instead they bring Doom and although nostalgic, bored everyone after a week. Seriously, Quake 1. Same graphics. Large scale multiplayer. No lag. They can charge me however much they want...

Oh my god, i'm very, very glad that there's already a thread about this, I was just trying to find something like this.
Anyway, Quake was such a revolutionary game in terms of first person shooters, not to mention the online gaming craze. Thinking back, games like Halo, Call of Duty, ect. might not even be around today if not for Quake. It would be a nice tribute to gaming and a treat for hardcore quake fans to offer it as a downloadin xbox live arcade.
-Thanks, Warin
heh, now I definitely want to do this... Question is, where do I bug ID ( tried idsoftware.com, but all I see is tech support which is not what I'm after =P )

Not really sure I think that was the idea behind this thread, to get xbox to talk to the guys at ID. I hope it works, I guess. But yeah, I'm going to keep looking around to see what else can be done.
Not to mention it'd also be played online more than some other "next-gen" FPS titles that have died out *prey, cough*.
But in all seriousness Microsoft have (apparent) strict guidelines as to what can be classified as an "Arcade" title. Now if those head hunchoes are being really picky, then Quake would be too advance for an arcade classic. But realistically Quake was THE 1st fully 3d modeled FPS game EVER so to me that certainly classifies as a "classic". And when you look at other arcade titles like Small Arms and Novadrome, the graphics on those games surely preceed those of quake and have pretty complex gameplay for a simple Arcade game. So logically they should've released Quake as an arcade title rather than Doom and just bumped the price up and it would've sold like hotcakes.

Yes, agreed. But since they already released DOOM as an arcade classic, releasing Quake shouldn't be in violation of their "guidelines". I mean, House of the Dead is an arcade game, and that game had good graphics (for an arcade game, that is).

Well, it's like why we play DOOM. It's true that people like to play the newer games, but people like me who have memories of the old-school shooters will always enjoy stuff like that. The fact is that there are a bunch of people who would jump on that sh*t in a heart beat. I just think it would be a good idea to add it to the arcade.
