Vehicles of the Game:---Tanks---Tanks are the ground beasts of the battlefield. They feature varying shell sizes and turret sizes. In general, if you are using a tank, try to stay hidden. The reason for this is the threat of enemy rockets, C4, or laser designators. Doing this will help keep your tank intact. Another piece of advice: If you hear beeping from inside the tank, GET OUT QUICK. Your tank health is low, or you’re being locked onto by a laser designator. If you are being locked onto, go under something if possible, so that the missile doesn’t hit you.
Sometimes, it is not smart to bail out. Don’t bail out of a tank if there is too much enemy movement, because then as soon as you appear, you will have already had 20000 rounds pumped into your rear end.---Jeeps or Troop Transport---These vehicles are useful to transport people from point A to point B, or they are good for getting out quick. Follow the same protection advice given to tanks, but this time, be extra careful because these vehicles are weaker than tanks. The weapons on these vehicles are normally a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on the top, and sometimes a grenade launcher just below it. You should try to take people on board with you to use the weapons, because without the weapons, these vehicles are pretty much defenseless. Running people over works too, but look out: If you see enemy engineers or enemy snipers near, you might want to re-think your strategy, as you might get blown up via laser target, or rocket.---Automobiles---These are funny. In some maps, there are cars with no weapons on them. No real tactics here: They are pretty much useless. Use them to run enemies over…. If you dare.---Boats---In some other maps, there are boats in the water. These are usually very fast, but still open to enemy fire (snipers and support). They usually have a grenade launcher on them, and sometimes a machine gun. Take some extra people with you in the boat so they can provide protection. The machine gun has a short to long range, while the grenade launcher has medium range accuracy. The key in aiming the grenade launcher: The higher you aim, usually means the further it will go. Also, keep moving while in a boat, because you are open to all kinds of fire including rockets, snipers, assault rifles, you name it. The boat does not provide much cover, and it does not have a lot of health itself.---The Helicopters---These are the only birds in the game. They are very effective. Some good ways of flying include: Not going too high to avoid GTAMs, strafing the ground targets by flying low, zigzagging back and forth to avoid missiles, and to never stop in one place. The helicopters in this game usually have missiles, and machine guns as secondary weapons. When firing a missile at a moving target, always factor in how fast it is going, and aim ahead so your target goes right into your missile.Fighting another helicopter can be tricky: First thing to do is to move often, and don’t turn around unless it is necessary. Stopping in midair will provide your enemy with an opportunity to hit you, so keep moving if possible. When assaulting the enemy helicopter, don’t move too much, because your missiles will be inaccurate. I will also say again: Factor in speed and enemy helicopter direction and movement. One of the biggest fears you can have in the sky is being locked on to. If you hear a beeping at any time, you can be sure a missile will be flying at you in a few seconds. You have a couple of choices: Go down and try to avoid the missile, or bail out of the helicopter (A), then use your parachute (Y). When parachuting, don’t press it right away, as you will be open to snipers, so freefall for a little bit, and wait until you are low until you deploy your parachute.Counter Helicopter Weaponry: GTAM:The GTAM can be used much like a laser designator. It looks like a big pair of binoculars on the ground with missile compartments on either side. They are usually near spawn areas of the maps, or in key objective points, like flag areas. To use one, walk up to one, and press A. When you see a helicopter in the air or on the ground, hold A like the laser designator, and hold it until it says “Target acquired”. The GTAM is more effective than the laser designator, so use it if possible.Artillery Strikes:Artillery is located on most maps, and is a very useful weapon against anything. There is a computer with a satellite dish on it: To use artillery, press A when near the computer, and a map will appear. It has locations of friendly (blue) soldiers, and enemy (red) soldiers. You can toggle where you want to drop the artillery. Keep in mind, for the best effect, use it where is enemy populated the most, and avoid using it around flags or other areas where your friendly soldiers might be walking. The artillery strike is only useable once and a while. When you see a white icon on the map, the artillery is ready. However, once you use it, it will take a while to re-spawn. Also, your position is given away when you use it, so as soon as it says “press A to continue”, do it, because an enemy could be behind you just waiting to pump you full of lead.Weapon and Ammunition Refill Stations:You will occasionally run across ammunition or health boxes. Simply stand over them to refill health, or your munitions. The ammo boxes look like a blue icon on top of a box, and the health ones have hospital crosses, coloured red over them.Game Modes:Conquest:A game that is a cross between CTF and team death-match. You score points for taking over territories, and for killing opposition. Your team has a certain amount of tickets. That ticket number goes down by 1 for every team death, and goes either up or down depending on how much territory your team controls. You can spawn anywhere in your team’s controlled territory.Capture The Flag:Two flags, one per team. Score by capturing the enemy flag, and bringing it back to your HQ area. Good game for people who love close action, as only parts of the map are used. Your team can only capture the enemy flag if your flag is secured.Teams:There are four different teams. Two of them in play in a map. The two teams selected depends on the map (eg: BridgeTooFar Chins and US)Middle Eastern CoalitionChinaUnited StatesEuropean ForcesThe EF and US never face each other, and the MEC and Chinese forces never face each other.Maps:BridgeTooFar- an urban map with bridges located throughout them. City-like atmosphere with home bases on either end of the map. Backstab- A desert map with a main city outside. Contains 2 bases on either side, and one side holds the only helicopters. The main objective points are located in the town area.SpecialOps- A sort-of tropical map with lots of water, and a couple of islands. The home bases are separated by water, and there is a lush forest on one side.HarborEdge- A night time map almost identical to BridgeTooFarFull Frontal- A night time map set in a small town with the desert surrounding it. It has frequent tight street battles, and is one of the most action-packed maps in the game.FrostBite- A snowy map that features some very large, and open areas. A perfect map for intense firefights at a medium to long range. DeadlyPass- A map similar to Backstab, but the town is way smaller, and the map is mostly open desert.Dammage- a flooded city map with destroyed buildings, cover areas, and has the ability to ride boats and other amphibious vehicles through the street. It also features great vehicle and infantry battles, plus it has higher levels and lower levels.ColdFront- Another snowy map similar to FrostBite, but has very high sniping spots, and some great places to rush enemy territory. There are big mountains too which can either provide cover, or they can provide a great flanking choice.HonorA big open map, with one small island, and one big island. The enemies are on opposite islands, and this map can have some fierce sea or land battles.LittleBigEye- A dark and cloudy map that takes place in a forest. There are some lone houses scattered throughout the map, but it is mostly trees. There are crops and downed airplane parts too – perfect for quick cover.TheNest- Another desert map, but it has a ColdFront feel to it. It also has some pretty high peaks in it, and some very low areas too. It has a main city in the centre of the map that can feature great firefights. Both teams have helicopters in this map.TheBlackGold- Two areas: An off-shore oil rig, and a little bit of land with a couple of buildings. One team starts out with all objectives (the ones on the rig), and the other team has to attack. This map has some of the best helicopter fights.RussianBorder- a relatively big snowy map that is a lot like any of the other snowy maps. It sort of takes place in a city setting, and has a lot of buildings and roads.Game Control Scheme:General Game-play:LT: Crouch/Lie down (prone)LB: Up stance, jumpLeft Analog Stick: MoveBack button: Player listStart: Pause menu< D-pad: N/A> D-pad: Show/hide flags^ D-pad: Zoom mini-map inv D-pad: Zoom mini-map outXbox Guide buttonRight analog stick: look around/scopeRT: ShootRB: Change weapon (hold)Y: Open/close chute/pick up kitB: ReloadA: Enter/exit vehicleX: SpeakVehicle Controls:B: Request nearby troop to enter vehicleLeft analog stick: Drive land vehicle/helicopter pitch and rotationLT/LB: Forward/reverse (land vehicles)Right analog stick: Helicopter altitude and rollRB: Change cameraY: Change position in vehicleRight analog stick: Aim turretOnline Achievements:Marksman – Kill 4 enemies with one clip of a sniper rifle: 20 GSExpert Sniper – Kill 10 people in a row using the Sniper kit: 25 GSExpert Assault – Kill 10 people in a row using the Assault kit: 25 GSExpert Support – Kill 10 people in a row using the Support kit: 25 GSExpert Spec.
