Frequently Asked Questions (Game)
1. When will Battlefield 2: Modern Combat be released?
The full version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat will be released on the 11th of April 2006.
“The ship date of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the Xbox 360 has moved to April 11, 2006. The new ship date is not related to product development, as the game is complete and in the final phases of testing at this moment. However, this extra time will let us run a public online beta test to make sure all server side issues are ironed out before launch. We’ll be working with select iGames centers to do this, beginning the middle of this month. If you are interested in playing the game weeks before it ships and helping us make the online experience even better, keep checking this space for more details. While we know this means you’ll have to wait a little longer, we will have an action-packed multiplayer demo available in mid-March via Xbox Marketplace, so you can see for yourself how Battlefield 2: Modern Combat brings the trademark Battlefield experience into the next generation.”

2. What will be new in the 360 version of Battlefield?
The game will be the same content wise as the Xbox 1 and PS2 version, except for minute tweaks in the maps to make them smoother to run.
As for Graphics, Sounds, and Physics. There has been a total overhaul, the Graphics surpass the PC’s on full setting and the Sound is optimized for 5.1 surround sound. For the Physics, EA has implemented the newest Havok Physics engine, which can be seen in Half Life 2.
3. How many players can play online?
24 players can play at once on any BF2MC server.
4. Will there be a Commander mode, or other PC features included?
The game will be exactly the same content wise as the PS2 and Xbox version aside from small tweaks to the maps, to make them easier to play.
5. Can I aim down the sights (ADS) now?
No, EA has not put in any ADS system, like the PC version.
6. Have the vehicles changed, in handling at all.
Yes! The vehicles have changed very much so thanks to the new Havok engine being used. They handle very realistically, and now are a joy to drive.
7. Which is better, GRAW or BF2MC?
This question is posed quite a bit, they are both entirely separate games. GRAW is more of a tactical shooter, based on one hit kills, and thinking, and it has no vehicles. BF2MC is more of an arcade shooter, that uses the shoot from the hip style of gameplay, it is very action oriented and has vehicles.
8. Does BF2MC have an split screen support or bots?
The answer to this question is quite a let down. There are no bots, and no split-screen functions. The AI only is present in single player (SP)
9. Is there anything new with SP?
No, SP will remain the same, aside from, upgraded AI, smoother controls, and better graphics, sound and physics.
10. Has the hit damage been changed?
As of this moment it is unknown, but most likely yes.
11. Can I turn off those annoying RED CIRCLES over players heads?
Yes you can! On top of that there will be servers with no RED Circles! And if you want you can completely turn off every aspect of the HUD! Even the crosshair!
12. Will the Warsome Booster Pack be included?
Yes, it will be included, the three maps are all there.
13. Will all the soldiers look alike?
NO! The soldiers will look different from each other! It is unknown how many version of the soldier there are, but soldiers will be unique. Your buddy and you might be in a game and both be assault, but you can look different.
14. Will Camo be used?
Absolutely! Every level that is unique will have it’s own set of camo! For example, Coldfront will have snow Camo. And Bridge Too Far will have Urban Camo.
15. Are there Jets in the game?
No.
16. Is there any clan support?
Unconfirmed at this time.

18. How do I open the $#^&!*^&#$%$'n Parachute?
Using the Yellow Skittle also known as the Y Button
19. How do I through multiple C4?
After you through one C4 hit the B Button
20. What does the little radio thingy for the sniper do?
The little radio thingy is a GPS or Global Positioning System, when used for 3 seconds it gives the location of every enemy on the map to your teammates.
21. What does the little gun thingy for the sniper do?
The Laser Designator is used to Laze targets, it will work on any vehicle, to use it simple aim at a vehicle and hold the RIGHT TRIGGER, the box will get bigger and then will beep when it turns red, this is the signal that it has locked and will blow the crap out of what ever you lasered.
22. Why don't my mines work on people?
Mines only work on vehicles, and can only be used to kill people if you shoot them with units nearby, hear is an example for the best strategy to block a 20m wide area.
X---------X X-------------------------X
------X------ -OR- -------X-----------X-------
X----------X --------------X-------------
Each X represents a mine, remember to space out these mines so that only one will blow up at once, these two are the simplest strategies to use with mines, there are more depending on the level. Remember, the broken bridge at Flag 2 is almost always mined, and is an easy way to rack up kills.
23. Can I make my own private servers?
No, the only servers that have any form of privacy are clan matches, where only members of the participating clan may join.
24. How many armies are in the game?
There are four armies, The United States of America, European Union, The Middle Eastern Coalition, and The Chinese Republic. Each one has 5 soldiers, each one statistically equal to it's counterparts, no country is better that the other.
25. How many mines can an engineer lay down before they disapear?
6 Mines Before they start to disappear
26. Can I turn of that respawn camera where I see who killed me?
The Death Cam, sadly cannot be turned off, sorry snipers.
27. How often does the artilerry respawn?
In a perfect world every 5 mins. but since it's not used the second it becomes available, it becomes available 5 mins. after a use.
28. Can you play with other people on the Original Xbox?
No, you cannot. Because they use different physics engines, sounds engine and graphic engines, it would be impossible for them to have cross compatibility.
29. Is there blood & gore?
Yes, blood, will come out when you shoot a character but it is very small and hard to see.
30. Are player models damaged?
Yes/No. No body damage other than the joints of the player model magically unlock 'knees & elbows'. No 'blown out chunks'. Eyeballs 'Pop' sometimes.
31. Are buildings damaged from gun fire?
No. Although with next gen power, and the ability to 'subtract from surface' of the building models, there is no building damage beyond athstetic.
32. Do bullet holes stack?
Bullet holes do stack, in a certain way, the more you shoot them the bigger and deeper they get to an extent.
33. Are barrels tougher than tanks?
Yes. Tanks cannot drive over a hollow barrel. If a nuke was dropped only 3 things would survive, Twinkies, Cockaroaches (Scarface :P) and Barrels.
34. What is PPH?
PPH is Points Per Hour it's the average amount of points you get in an hour. So your points divided by time.
So lets do and example:
800 Points and 7 hours
800 / 7 = 114.2 PPH
35. I cannot hear anyone during a game WTFBBQ!?!?!1111
This is just a common glitch that happens during the game, it will be fixed soon and a Patch is in the works.
36. Can you kill enemies/allies with the barrel of the tank?
Not anymore! It was quite the pain in the original for Xbox, but it has been taken out.
37. Whats the deal with the instant kill fences?
I have no idea, but for some reason driving into fences does incredible amounts of damage to your vehicle.
38. Why can’t I jump over barbed wire?
Because in modern time barbed wire is made so that it is a height sooo perfect that no one can jump over it.
39. Is it true the Medic Glitch is gone?
Yes, but I’m sure that people will find out how to do another boosting glitch.
40. What is boosting?
Boosting is a form of cheating that involves exploiting a games point system, by having friends and or others allow you to kill them to aquire achievements/medals. Or to raise in the ranks. It is frowned upon by most players. It’s almost a guarantee that 90% of the players in the top 10 are boosters (Other than the kills leader boards)
