Just unlocked my last achievement on Centipede minutes ago giving me 200/200 (100/100 on Centipede and 100/100 on Millipede) for both games, all earned on 5/2/2007

 

Truly, I thought earning these achievements were even easier to obtain than ones in Galaga.

dang...well i'm currently 7 on the leaderboard on mill, but that will change in a few minutes im sure..lol.  I'll be like 650 by morning. I'll go for the achievments when i get better.

200/200.  No way these were easier than Galaga.  Galaga just required endurance.  The "monkey" difficulty achievements for Centipede and Millipede were driving me nuts!

Just got the 200/200, I actually scored over 56,000 getting the Centipede 50,000 achievement, but my DSL dropped and lost the score. The 125,000 on Millipede was toughest for me.

125000 was the toughest for me too, but now i can get it in about 20-30 mins every time.

Lol.  It cracked me up seeing you being at the top of the leaderboards missing exterminator.  Just didn't seem right since you are obviously a good player you'd think it would've just came to you but guess not.  People like you tick me off to see your scores in the leaderboards because it just makes me look very bad.  Thought i had a good score in aegis wing and centipede/millipede until i look up and i always see your name consistantly and no one elses..

heh.  To be honest im not really big on achievements, but ever since TM mentioned he had 20 200/200s i was compelled to fill out my missing achievements.  Then again, im very competitive and love stats...figured id try to up my rank on mygamercard.net too.  I am sure you dont mean it too literally but i wouldnt make it out to be so bad.  I've always had a knack for video games.  I was coming close to scores in nintendo power at the age of 4 in the early 80s.  Not sure how it happened or what it is, but the "simple" mechanics (nintendo, genesis etc) of video gaming came easy to me and most arcade games are just that for me, simple mechanics. This area of gaming is my expertise.  Put me up with slower paced games and i just cant do 'em.  Im tired though, so a good night to all.

I spent like 3 straight days of like 3 hours each day getting this achievement it just takes time is all i can say...  I just had the problem of losing at 119k,112k,114k,and 105k it really pisses you off when you get so far and just to lose and cant work back up to it on advanced start :(.

Marauder was tough but after like 30 mins in the 75-105k range i got really lucky in a bonus wave.

 Make sure to adjust your speed control for Throttle Monkey (I prefer my control set just under default - and just above with regular default games - ship control does not affect achievements). Also keep close to the edges and practice constant movement back and forth (in other words jerk it left to right on & on & on ) you'll find it much easier to avoid the spiders

Super tip: place your ship to shoot on the left or right side - but not all the way - place ship so your shots will (or would - depending on mushroom formation) hit right in between the mushrooms - remember to hold the fire button too - if you do this your odds of destroying the whole centipede in one combo are substantially increased
