Music Mixer - "Unable to complete import"
Has anyone been able to find out how to get this to work?  I have tried everything to try to transfer anything from my PC to my Xbox.  Everytime, it keeps telling me that it was "unable to complete import".  I have XP SP2 and have tried configuring my firewall for the specified TCP and UDP ports, turning off the firewall, transfer cable connection, over a router... you name it.  Everything I have tried fails.  I just wanted to copy my MP3s over to my XBox, but, this music mixer is a real let down.  It has never worked for me and is itching to be thrown away.  I know several people have not had any problems with it and have gotten it to work every time, but, I am not sure what might be different from your PCs or XBoxs than with mine.  As I said, I have XP SP2 with XBox Music Mixer PC Tool and have tried every combination of firewall and ethernet settings that I can think of with no success.  Please help!!!

Re: Music Mixer - "Unable to complete import"
I pray someone finds how to make this piece of Crappola work. I have been at it since the music mixer came out. I have tried using it on a HP Laptop(it worked 1 time) but will not work at all on my Compaq Desktop( brand new). 2 different Xboxes and same message everytime. (unable to complete transfer) If anyone can help me (and millions of dissapointed Xbox Fans) please do.

Re: Music Mixer - "Unable to complete import"

Here's what worked for me using a System Link cable [crossover] after spending hours trying every configuration under the sun:

1. Make the I.P address and Subnet Mask on your Xbox the same as is on your PC. [To figure out what the IP and Subnet values are on your PC go to Start and select Run. Then type in cmd. Then type ipconfig in the window that pops up.

2. If you have a wireless network running on your PC, disable it. This is what was key for me.

Xbox's are configured to look for an Internet connection for Xbox Live when there is a network cable plugged into them. If you have a wireless network connected to the Internet running while you're trying to use a direct connection to a PC the Xbox will try to connect to Xbox Live through your wireless connection instead of your PC.

Let me know if this helps.

Re: Music Mixer - "Unable to complete import"
I tried everything posted on this forum and couldn't get anything to work. Fixed now though, and I was suspicious as last time I tried it it worked fine...

This was posted in a different thread, but to confirm: The problem appears to be with one of the many automatic updates that have been installed. On my main machine (XPsp2, all updates) I get the dreaded 'connection lost'. On another machine on my network (XPsp2, NO updates), it connects and works fine.

So I am having to convert mp3 files over the network from the updated machine to the no-updates machine, and then onto the xbox. PITA, but at least this seems to have solved the problem.

Hope this helps someone.
