it looks like their is only 2 to 3 of you that are still playing cod 3. Look i can understand staying with 3 when cod 4 came out, its a totally different game. but cod waw is 3s sequel. So its time for u guys to move on yeah their are perks and things to work for. But theirs alot more things to do online and the story mode is good. And it still has the treyarch feel to it. So if u havent already go out and buy it already. I see someone said that they like cod 3 because when you are german u use german weapons and so on. But im big into military history and in ww2 it was very common for lets say a german soldier to pick up a russian weapon and use it . And it was very common for americans to use german weapons. yeah i still have cod 3 but i will rarely play the game. Im not the kind of person that sells my games i keep them, especially if its a classic.
Please, WaW is not the sequel of CoD3, its CoD4 in a new skin. As for picking up enemy weapons...was there many Type 100's lying around Berlin then? Thought not. And there are still plenty of people playing this game, in fact members of a forum I belong to are having a CoD3 evening tonight...and its a double XP weekend in WaW too...that says so much to me.
Well said. What DotTxKillMachine does not understand is why people prefer COD3 and COD2 to COD4 and CODWaW. I'll try to explain it.
Reason 1) COD3 and COD2 used peer to peer connection in which every player must be able to connect to each other. COD4 and CODWaW use a host connection where players must only match to the host. This is what made for the horrible on-line play. You know like invisible players and claymore. You would walk in a room clear all corners then bang you are shot in the back by a player in the corner you just checked. Then you would watch the kill cam and you would see the other play watching you from one of the corners you just cleared (note that player is invisible to you because your connection and his do not match up, so he has not downloaded to your X-box yet, but you are there on his) Bang your dead. This just one example of the invisible lag, there are plenty more. They tried to fix it, but could not because well you would have to scrap the whole program and start over.
I still played it, but not anymore - the lag is so bad it is impossible to play.
Reason 2) the perks, guns and maps foster run-n-gun games with no team work. Even with the horrible lag it was easy to get kills, keep moving and spray. Now sniping was tricky because you had to aim at a random point where you tink the player may actually be. COD3 had kits which you had to play differently and rely on teamwork and strategy - it was a much harder game to master. COD4 was a walk in the park compared to COD3; the same went for the single player campaing.
Reason 3) Modern weapons verses WWII weapons, some people did not like the change over. I didn't mind, in fact I like both types.
Now I know you are going to say it's because I sucked at COD4, which tells me you never played against me. I prestiged once and vowed never to do it again because it was just more of the same boring game, so insted I concentrated on getting gold weapons - that keep me interested in the game, but then it got boring again with nothing else to accomplish. COD3 is still not boring and still takes talent to win. I'm not saying that there are not problems with COD3, I am saying that it is just a more interesting and fun game to play. It seems like CODWaW is not doing that well when I look at my friends list - everyone is playing COD4, COD3 or other games. Very few are playing CODWaW yet they all bought the game. As you all know, I cancelled my CODWaW pre-order based on the Beta - I did not want to play COD4 with old weapons and horrible connections.
I may just be the last thing you see before you re-spawn!
