Even if it ends up taking three full months to fix, I honestly would be okay with that.  ...as long as we were told something.  I understand that they can't really give us an ETA.  But it would be nice to hear something every so often.  Like...
"yes, we're still working on a solution.  Hang in there.  We'll give everyone a status report by the end of next week on whether we're closer to solving this problem or not".

Wouldn't that be nice to at least hear something like that?  It doesn't really tell us anything, but at least we know they're alive and haven't all been hit by a bus.

If something like this happened with any of the products I've developed, I would communicate with the client - even if I had nothing new to report I would be sure to keep communicating with the client.  It's all about keeping the communication channels open and keeping clients in the loop.  If I didn't do that, clients would send me a clear message by not purchasing my products again.

...maybe we need to send the developers of Ninja Gaiden 2 a similar message.

I too will be fine with this. Just some fans updates or something to let us know whats up. also I would hope some news sites would list this in there news section also to let ppl know. Im not playing the game until it's patched. just becuase I dont feel like erasing all my other game updates to play offline.

*** at the rate they are going though I wont be suprised if the patch upsate comes out after Gears of War 2.  I read the other guys post where he said if it were Halo 3 then it would be fixed right away.  True very true but also they dont release anything unless they know its going to work.  Its really sad that they didnt wait off on it.  It was a good game.  Glad I got others to play.  For anyone else reading just be prepared to wait till the end of the year for a patch or update.  Something tells me its not coming out anytime soon.   Angry [:@]     Sad [:(]     Snail [sn]

Yes, I admit i would be much more upset if I didnt have other games to play. Also I agree with the halo 3 thing. This game is very good and I was enjoying it until it would freeze at the same part all the time.

I just went to Tecmo and they said if you need support go to Xbox.com because "we did not publish the game". I'm pretty sure you DID publish the game, since it is all over your website. I have a different glitch problem where you die instantly right before you kill the 2 chapter 9 dragons on warrior mode. I can't proceed and I am tired of bashing these dragons just to lose a full life bar from nothing.

Neither company wants to own up to this problem. It's funny how both company names are on the cover of NG II and they're willing to collect the money but neither one is responsible for problems.

That is pretty crazy.  So Tecmo has washed their hands of this mess and the responsibility lies with MS?  That is very disappointing.

Weird, I've never heard of that glitch.  Are you sure it's not those little flying beasts dive-bombing you that kills you? They are hard to see sometimes.  Also, it could be one of the large dragons off-screen hits you with that huge, slow fireball.

However, I have a very useful tip for this fight.  If you have fully upgraded your art of the Piercing Void, one shot will nearly kill one of the dragons.  Wait til you see one hover in place, blast him and watch as 75% of his lifebar disintegrates.  So 4 shots will kill both no problem, or you can hit each dragon once with the ninpo then finish em off with a few arrows.

I have not upgraded my void ninpo, so I'm stuck. At first I thought I was getting hit from off camera, but then it would happen even with full life! They can't take a full life bar with one hit on warrior mode, and I am looking right at the dragon who is not even attacking when I die. It is definitely a glitch. I'll try to record it.

Crazy, sorry to hear you are going through that.  It might be worth a shot just to see what non-upgraded Void will do.  You might also try running to different locations at the start to see if it happens elsewhere.

Krumlin~

Let me go through this.  I guess I'm really confused.

You're on Warrior...Chapter 9...and you still haven't upgraded Void ninpo.

Well....if I remember right...the last save before the final battle is where all the chainsaw ninjas are and right after the pool of Blood Eels.  If you die, you'll go back to that save point.  Why not die and then go to the Muramasa shop and upgrade that Ninpo all the way???

The reason you are getting killed from off-screen is (I'm willing to bet) that one of the dragons is behind you and using the laser beam eye.  That attack takes a SIGNIFICANT amount of damage from Ryu.

------

First things first, get your ninpo upgraded then save again and then proceed forward.

When you get to the shore after the swim...don't worry about killing the chainsaw demons that spawn...just run right by them.  You won't use any Ninpo.  That run takes you all the way to the platform where you fight them.

One of the dragons flies to your right, makes a turn and then flies left to a certain point, goes up and then launches a fireball.  As that dragon goes to the right charge your arrow.  When he goes back left, shoot him....he'll take damage there.  As he stops to load the fireball/breath, you have enough time to ready another shot and hit him...although it may not be a fully charged shot.

Make sure you are jumping and avoiding well.  Use/Abuse the Void Ninpo.  If you're good you'll finish off the hurt dragon AND the other one in 3 or 4 Ninpo shots.

Anytime the dragons stop and load up a shot....laser beam or fireball....do your Ninpo  (do this not only to avoid their hit but also try to hit them).

Thanks Tabasco cat, I am worried that I already spent all my essence... I can't remember. Maybe after restarting the xbox the problem will go away. But I swear to you it is a glitch, when there is one dragon left, who is definitely not hitting me -I die instantly -the laser beam does not take your whole life bar anyway... unless he is stronger when he is about to die. I've never complained about a glitch before, but this is true.

You actually can't buy upgrades for your ninpo...there is a Jewel of the Demon Seal just before the last save point in chapter 9 (if memory serves, anyway).  It's either on the body lying on the island or in the chest, I can't remember which.  Then the last one is in one of those bone baskets in chapter 10.  If you haven't been doing the ToVs, you won't have enough Jewels of the Demon Seal to upgrade all of your ninpos.  I'm pretty sure the only way you can buy one is if you missed one hidden in the regular campaign.

So basically, there's no "fix" being announced for this bug? The only thing I've downloaded is a few costumes. After the update my game started to crash at the cutscene on Chapter 10. From what I've read, everyone is having different types of problems. So this is from the update, right?

Correct....you can clear your cache and play offline, and everything will be fine...there are some bugs you may hit, but you will be able to finish....you just won't be able to upload your karma score or have time/date stamped achievements.

Right... thanks for the help. At least I can clear the cache. It was freezing at the same cutscene everytime. Again, thanks.

and there isn't going to be an update. It sucks, and even though I sold mine off, I will pick it up again if they ever fix it. However, what incentive is there for them to do so, when no one outside of ninja gaiden forums on sites like this even know about it? They'll probably throw out a NG2: Black instead of ever fixing this game.

I've emailed Tecmo, posted about it a few places...no reply from Tecmo, not sure this isn't being swept under the rug a bit...

With the turmoil in tecmo, and recent CEO departure...could it be that something more sinister than assumed has happened and disgruntled TN team members have actually caused the issues because they are pissed at how Tecmo's been run?  It's probably an unfair accusation, but with all the turmoil there it wouldn't surprise me if this update isn't the accident people have been assuming

That is exactly what I think. But even if Team NInja didn't intentionally break it -when they walked out (was that before mission mode/update?) they certainly made it difficult for tecmo to deal with. There is a lot that we don't know about, but one thing we do know is that Tecmo is in turmoil. Delete you cache people, my game is running fine and it is awesome!

You need the update for the mission mode to work. The update WILL freeze chapter 10 in story mode. But mission mode should run fine. If you want to play story mode you should delete you cache and play offline only. But if you want to play chapter 1-9 and mission mode you can play online for now.

In order to play the story mode of the game you need to not download the update, and then you will have to play offline.

To play the Mission Mode you need the update so you will have to update. Then if you want to play the story mode you would have to delete the update, in doing so deleting all updates for any game you play that has an update, and play offline again. So you would need to go back and forth with deleting the update and redownloading it.

This is just rediculous man.
