i made a police car painting for my lingenfelter and i was wondering how to get that painting on a different car. whan i click the load painting for a different car it says there are no painting saved for this car. but if i go back to my lingenfelter it will show that painting what am i dong wrong

Anyways, they are all made with the existing vinyls, all layered together. You can read the stickied threads at the top of the forum for more information and tutorials.

I get all my custom paint through the AH (auction house) or just from networking on here and people gifting me paint or cars. Some of the designs are amazing though. I have a Pirates car with Johnny Depp's face on the hood. It's amazing what some of these people can do.

Highlight all of the layers and go to Create Vinyl Group (it won't work if you have manufacturers' decals included).  Save it as "Police theme" or whatever (you will have to make a new vinyl group for each side of the car, I believe).  Bring a new car to the paint shop.  Click on a new, blank layer and choose Load Vinyl Group.  Since the body lines on cars are different (C6 is even different than the Lingenfelter let alone a Ford Focus or something) you may have to reshape/resize things to make them look right.  Unhighlight all the layers and start moving them into their correct positions for the new car. 

I created the Rhys Millen Pontiac Solstice theme for my FD RX7 drift car.  I tried to transfer it to an FC RX7 and it didn't work too well.  I had to move some things and shrink the bull to make it fit.

cubs  i will sell it to you locked for 150,000 credits or unlocked for 250,000 credits

the only way you can copy the design is by having 2 identical cars. e.g. Fairlady Z

Dan:  If you are copying to an indental car, yes.  Otherwise you can save entire side, roof/hood, front or rear as a New Vinyl Group and then apply it to any car you wish.

 ^^^yup:you gotta highlight the layers but dont highlight the manifacture decal cause otherwise it wont let you save it....to highlight the parts you want you got to the place where you put decals on then get the car with the decal you want to copy....then press the LEFT STICK and hold it and press the A button then keep doing it to the parts you wanna highlight...then when your done let go of the stick and then press the A button and go to -->CREATE NEW VINYAL GROUP<-- and then save it (also do the other side so you wont have to flip it but name it left decal and right decal so you no where to put it)...when your done got to the car that you want it on. Then you go to the place where you put the decals on and you press the A button and go to  --> LOAD NEW VINYAL GROUP<-- and pick the decal you  want and your all set......hope that helped you
