Game showing as trial bug
if you play this not on the origional console
but signed into your account it shows as non trial in arcade
but when you get into the game its a trial
you can unlock it ingame but next time you run it its a trial again

anyone else noticed this?

I am also getting this problem.  My original X360 went pop a couple of weeks back so the place I bought it from replaced it with a new one, now every time I want to play Double Dragon I have to download the full game patch, something I am definately not happy about :(

Re: Game showing as trial bug
You can load the game up as a trial game.  Then sign out and sign back in while at the in-game menu.  It will restart the game and it should be unlocked.  This saves you the trouble of having to redownload it every time you play.  Until MS fixes the DRM issues, you'll have to sign in/out every time you play.

Same happens with me. My Xbox is away being fixed & i borrowed my brothers, trial everytime & you have to download it again, one good thing is a least it doesn't ask you to pay for it again.

Yeah, I noticed this as well.  The weird thing is that most of my other arcade games don't do this...did Microsoft change the DRM recently???  It's somewhat annoying to have to redownload the full version every time you run it, but since it's a really quick download, it's not as annoying as it could be.  Smile [:)]

Re: Game showing as trial bug

I just moved all my stuff over to a new console and noticed this problem too!  ANNOYING!

I own 48 full Arcade titles and they are the only 3 games I know of that do the "Buy full version" nonsense...  I have bought arcade titles inbetween the releases of Double Dragon and Sonic/Golden Axea and they work fine (as long as your connected to Live).  I don't think that it's some sort of universal new policy to DRM.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
I am having this problem as well.  I sent an email to technical support weeks ago and never got a response which ticks me off.  The thing that really gets me is I didn't even try to switch consoles.  My console got the RRoD and they sent me a refurbished replacement instead of my original console back.  Ever since then, I can't get Double Dragon to work even if I try downloading it again.

Re: Game showing as trial bug

I just noticed this as well. I got got a refurbished Xbox 360 back from Microsoft and obviously I can't play any of my Xbox Live Arcade games offline. But now I can't play Double Dragon even when signed in! I haven't tried all of my arcade games yet, since I got my Xbox 360 back, and now I am starting to think this may happen to a few more possibly? This all needs to be sorted out.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
This needs to be at least aknowledged. I did not want to wait for Microsoft to replace my borked 360 (three red ring... I know, totally unheard of) so I bought a new one. What do I get for giving more of my money to Microsoft? More headaches is what. I love my Xbox, I just wish they would allow you to tranfer your media licenses to a new machine if you have to replace on of their poorly built older ones.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
Having the same problem with Streets of Rage II and Golden Axe.  One thing I've noticed is that these games all have something in common and that's their presentation.  They all have like a save on demand feature, or whatever...I'm not sure how to explain it but because of the way they are emulated or something.  I think they have this issue because of the coding or whatever.

I really wish I had the exact words to express it in plainer english.  But I think the bug is caused by the way the games are presented, in their simliar styles.  Please tell me someone reading this understands what I mean.

This thread needs to be "pinned" or "stickied" to the top of the forum until this problem is fixed.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
To those that say they can't play it at all (even when logged on).   When in game, go to Unlock Full Game, let it "download" (which should only take a second - literally), then once it says completed, close the Xbox tab (press the Xbox button).  If you hit "Play Now" the game will restart and you'll continue to have you issue.  Don't restart the game.  Yes, you have to do this every time.  Yes, its annoying, but if I knew a permanent fix I'd say that instead, wouldn't I?

I encountered this, this past weekend.  I even re-downloaded it, and still was only the Demo version.

The trick I've found to get it to work temporarily is to click "Buy full version" from the game menu screen.  Then ask it to download again, but when it's done instead of clicking "Play Now", click "Continue" instead and the game will unlock.  If you hit "Play Now" it reboots the game and gives the same demo version.

guys!

as I noted above, the trick where you log your profile out, then back in at the double dragon menu screen works like a charm.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
I myself am having this issue. My 360 died back in January and I also recieved a replacement system. Fired up DD last night to go for a few achievements, and had no luck. Unlock full game was all I saw. Tried to re-download it a few times, no luck. Finally called tech support, they had me delete the game, delete the XBL info, and then clear my cache. No go. The lady I was talking to ended up putting me on the phone with her supervisior and he ended up telling me they had to basically relicense the game for me. I should be hearing from someone in about 3-5 business days, or get an e-mail telling me its fixed. Lets hope so. I supposed everyone should call tech support to let them know about this. I'll try the trick with signing in and out of my profile, lets hope that works!

Im not expecting a call....or anytime soon for that matter. The loading the game, then signing out and back in trick does work, atleast for me. Atleast I can still play. Damn hard achievements left though, kinda wish I hadn't spent the money, but oh well, I've gotten a little bit of enjoyment out of it.

Add me to the list of people who have encountered this.  Work around works, but I can't believe there has not been a fix for this nearly a year after it was first discovered.

the achievements arent hard at all if you use the elbow smash......try switching the controls so that a combo of the "a" and "x" = the elbow smash.... for me killing 2 people with dynamite was the hardest thing to do, but it only took a few tries.

Re: Game showing as trial bug
I got a call tonight from xbox telling me they fixed my bug. I have yet to try it out, so I can't verify, but atleast I've heard something back. The logout then back in worked for me at the main screen of the game. I'll try what they said and let ya know if it worked. I'll try that with the button config. Thanks!

Just adding that after a RRoD I am experiencing this "Still Trial" bullshit. Thanks to this I'll have to reconsider my spending habits when it comes to the Live Marketplace...
