ok so my tv seetings are good.....i have reset the box to default settings....and i have tested the cables in a different XBOX 360....and yet i still have no video when i turn on the box....i can hear audio but all i can see is a black screen with the tv's AUX in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Have you tried a different TV?  Or perhaps if you have a VCR connected to the TV, can you try connecting the Xbox to the VCR's input just to see it displays on the TV?

I just got the same problem last night. Do you see little white dots floating around the screen? I can hear audio as well.  I tried different tvs, and I also bought new cables and still the same problem. No red lights or anything, just no picture. Anybody got any help?

Mine was working perfectly fine last night, and I wake up today and everyting works fine except the video.. Tried it on two televisons HD and regualr and still nothing... 140 dollars to fix they say this really sucks.... :(

Absolute same problem for me today.  The screen is black with tiny white dots floating across.  The sound is perfect.  Of course, my warranty expired three weeks ago!  I hope I don't have to pay another 140 bucks!

Exact same thing happened to me today too.  I was playing Marvel Ult Alliance and the screen just went black.  I could continue to move and hear the sound, but couldn't see anything.  Video would intermittantly come back, but would flicker and disappear quickly.

Sounds like a trend here! 

Same thing here. I was just watching a DVD and I got the black screen with white lines at the bottom like everybody else is reporting. I'm furious. This is happening to everybody at the same time -- it's no coincidence. Must have been a software upgrade they sent out.  Furious.

This is a major, widespread problem and I am finding it very hard to believe that so many people could have the same hardware defect at the same time!  I take a very logical, step-by-step approach to all technology and I know that there was nothing that I did to cause or contribute to the display problem.  I am also not one to jump to conclusions with little data.  In this case, however, there is an enormous amount of data from multiple sources describing the exact same symptoms.  It seems highly unlikely that so many units could experience the same hardware failure within a very close range of time.  I do not believe in coincidences.  I already shipped my 360 out yesterday for repairs and I paid 140 dollars for the privledge.  I am not happy about paying for something that is not related to any improper action on my part.   Microsoft, please come clean with us on this issue.  Thank you.

That's all I can think of, as well.  It must be something over xbox live that screwed everybody's machines up.  I tried calling and talking to people at Gamestop and none of them had heard of this problem before.  Also, no one had heard of it on the Xbox support line.  I am sending in my 360 for repairs this week.   

Unfortunately the same thing happened with me, yesterday i was playing Forza 2, then suddenly i had screen distortions and i started seeing shadows as if there was a Video Card failure. After that I exited the game, checked the cables and turned off the console.When i turned it on the same thing persisted. I tried changing display and turned to Standard Definition (ps. I have HD TV), but nothing seemed to work and I still got the same distortions.The last try when I turned on the console, the whole screen just turned black although I can still hear the sound at the background. PLZ PLZ HELP don't know what to do

I have the exact same problem, it just  started  a couple of days ago, if I restart it a few times the video will finally come on. Moving the switch from stv to hdtv restarts it also and has worked but this really suck's.

I have this problem as well. Have checked every connection and setting. It started with only 2 color channels coming through (images would not have one color, such as red), then it just stopped displaying video completely. I am very angry about this, as this is a console they have sent me after a repair. If they try to charge me to repair this I will cause all ***.

this happened to me about 2 months ago while i was playing halo 2.. already payed for the repair cost, there goes another $1XX spent on my 360...

Add me to the list. I was playing forza 2 and the graphics looked cell shaded. Turned it off now aolny sound no picture. This sucks. I have had this since launch day, 6 person in line and I have never had a problem. I just recently pre ordered 11 games, all the good ones coming out this year including the darkness. I guess instead of sending it off to micosoft I will just go get a new xbox and maybe just trade this POS in

This happend to me 2 days ago. was playing halo 2. Started getting weird grapics glitches. rebooted and now just white snow/small lines on the screen. any one hear anything from support? Of course my warranty just expired 2 weeks ago.

Happened to my launch unit in January..I had my unit exchanged.

Gotta jump in on this thread too... I've been having this same problem intermittently for a few months. It usually happens right when I turn the console on. I see no video but I can hear the XBOX 360 logo theme and can hear the menu blades changing. I can usually fix the issue by just rebooting the console, but sometimes it takes a few tries. Definitely not the TV.

I had this same thing happen but my screen started turning shades of green and i could hear the audio. I turned it off turned back on worked for about 2 hours turned it off completely. I just returned the unit to best buy. Happened to me about 1 1/2 month ago

i just had this problem today (june 24, 2007) and I cnat believe it happened. I think my warienty is still good, so what do i do.

yeah i was playing halo 2 today and the screen went black while i was playing, but still had audio.  after somebody killed me and i respawned...luckily, a minute later the screen came back up to normal.  i have an elite and have only had it for about a month.  this is not looking good

Same thing happened to me on the 14th, i sent it in to be repaired, got it back last thursday and it now has a new issue, the video issue was resolved, but now no wireless accessories can be paired with the console. After many hours on the phone to support, my xbox is now being shipped off today to be repaired again. nice QA process........ 

I have experienced this for about an month. Since I get a LCD TV with component.

It blacks out for about 2-3 sec, then it works again.

If any one hear of an solution, I would love to hear about it :-)

Ive had the same problem... one night I was playing Forza 2 and the video kept disappearing, and whenever it returned, there was blue static fuzz over areas of the screen, and the whole thing was twitching. I hope this isnt forecasting my first 3 red lights :[

I purchased a movie on Marketplace the 21st. The system just stoped and never made it past the download. Now all I get is "red" flashing around the power button and ON Video.

I hate to say it, but I am also having a similar issue.  Everything was working fine, then it started, and has been getting progressively worse.

I can;t switch from 720p to 1080i or 1080p (used to be able to), there is strange blue streaking, almost like ghosting, and I can't play DVDs anymore.

78 minutes on the phone, and it is finally going back in for repairs.

Just wanted to pop in and say I've had the same problem. I have since replaced the exbox but still have the one that doesnt display video anymore so if there is any fix or anything I'd be happy to know about it. Mine just started randomly one day without warning. Well actually I kinda chalked inup to the power going out while the xbox was on, it rebooted and gave me 3 red lights, i turned it off and turned it back on and it was fine for a day or so, then no video display in either HD or SD on multiple TV's with multiple cables. Even tried my brothers 360 on my TV to see if that was the problem, but his worked fine so who knows. I can still turn it on and off using the controller so I know the OS is booting to the dashboard fine, but no display, oh well.

so I called customer service and they said $140 and 2 weeks to have it fixed. After I got of the phone I tried it again Now I just have the 3 red rings. Life stinks

This is exactly what happend to me.  Strangely enough same game, Forza 2.  Afterwards all of my games were getting the distorted look.  Now my system just gives me a blank screen.  My HD tv responds with unsupported format or no signal.  I called Xbox Thursday said I would have a coffin in a week.  Waiting patiently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
