Thanks for the well wishes everyone.  My wife is going to actually skip church this morning and rest.  I'll be taking the boys alone.  Yikes.  Stick out tongue [:P]

I marathoned my way through my first playthrough of Borderlands.  Now I don't know whether or not to try and level up my soldier to 50 or start a playthrough with another character.  I loved the game and finishing a significant % of the game took me over 30 hours.  Can't ask for more than that from a shooter!

Anyone else notice a below par Hallow's Eve last night?  I don't know if it was swine flu scare, the economy, or a Michigan thing but there weren't many kids out last night and there weren't as many houses passing out candy.  What was your experience?

We were swamped with kids as usual last night.  We live right by an elementary school, and a lot of people drive their kids to the school and then have them invade our neighborhood.  We even had some girl pilfering our neighborhood who was being followed by a car with Michigan plates on it.  I realize that we are only 3 miles from the Michigan border, but seriously, can't you at least trick or treat in your own state?  Get off my lawn!  Stick out tongue [:P]  Devil [6]

The one thing we didn't have last night that I missed was that no one came to our door for the food drive.  Our local high school has kids go out trick or treating, but not to get candy.  They go door to door to collect non-perishables for the food pantry.  I had my stash by the door last night, but no one came by.  Other than that, it was business as usual here.

It was completely dead.Fun.But dead.

EJ - I'm so glad to hear about your wife.  My cousin is going through stuff right now.  She had two tumors removed from her neck and they got it all so she's happy.  Cancer *** (insert word of choice that the language filter doesn't allow)!!!

We went to Disneyland to enjoy the Halloween festivities.  I've never been during that time.  Usually after when it is decked out for Christmas.  I enjoyed it.  So many kids dressed as princesses.  Shocking, huh?  Stick out tongue [:P]

When we got home we had one trick or treater and Bowie yelled at the door when they knocked.  Dave heard a little girl scream and they were gone.  That was it.  One more than last year.  The kids were with their mom so we'll hear about it later.  I know Ryan was running around in his ghillie suite scaring people.

Now hubby and I are having quality time together at the laundromat.  Yee haw!!  Then back to Borderlands.  I think I will finish my first play through tonight.

I noticed that Halo Waypoint shows up in your recent games played on the .com forums.  That's weird.

Lol I scrolled through the last page just looking for your post.  We got our butts kicked, I literally was slightly physcially ill after the game.  But look at it this way, UO was the better team and the played like it.  And the last team to win the Pac-10 before USC's run?  That's right, the Ducks.  So UO deserves to go to the Rose Bowl, kill the Big 10, while we lick our wounds, suck it up, and rebuild for next year. Yes [Y]  I just PRAY that our D gets it's focus back, b/c we need to win out.  Carroll has won 13 of his last 15 against ranked opponents on the road, and has never finished a season with more that 2 losses (except his first season).  I really hope we keep it that way.

EJ – grats on your wife and the big C victory! (OT: there are two words that jump into my bamaged drain when I hear the C word and compromise aint one of them)  I went through the same thing back in 2000, so holler if you have any questions.  Hopefully you guys only have to do I-131 treatment and not chemo, because that just plain stinks.  There have been some amazing advances in synthroid stability and long term treatment as well as inhibition.  Take my advice and whatever she is doing physically and mentally – increase it.  The synthroid just does not replace raw metabolism and you need to stay very physically active otherwise you’ll feel tired.  It also helps to stay interested – in everything!

Enf – right on the money as usual.  I’ve never been a fan of tiptoeing around the issue and prefer to bring a sledgehammer to the matter at hand.  When the wife and I have these kinds of arguments we do the same.  We’re both very independent and need some alone time. Learning to notify the other about what we want took time, especially in dealing with da kid.

Avacotter – Congrats!

JD, Nien – I read several of the comments regarding MW2 and the scene in question.  I have not seen the vid yet.  I’m torn on games like this – I am very anti-censorship and prefer to have the parents occupy that role.  I’m definitely in the minority in that I believe war should be portrayed realistically for the hell it is.  In this case it sounds like an Eli Roth in the picture, trying to use over the top violence as a vehicle, rather than doing the work on the story.

As ridiculous as it may sound I have trouble finishing the “evil” achievements in games.  Thinking about this as I’m playing through Fallout 3 – in order to get the bad and neutral karma achievements I have to steal, main, and play the role of the not-so-nice guy.  As long as there are consequences programmed in for the evil road I’m good with it.

It took me like two hours to finish, but I was playing off line because I had to play in the back and I didn't want the update to fight with hubby's 360.  I can't drive around the stupid race track without running into a tiny rock that stops my car so I can't unlock that achievement.

I don't know why Halo Waypoint is considered a game.  That makes no sense.  It is also on my 360Voice Blog.  It does have Avatar Rewards which also doesn't make sense. I guess it is Bungie's way of giving rewards on old games or something.

Exactly like my dad.

He really does not like being evil. It bothers him when he steals,or insults people in the game because he is  not that way in real life.

I want to know why every game that came out after the last dashboard update doesn't have avatar awards. I bought Batman: Arkham Asylum, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, IL2 - Sturmovik, and Tekken 6 and none of them have Avatar Awards. It ticks me off. Unless there's something I'm missing.

   I agree.

There are alot of things they hold back in school. When I was in the Marine's I was ready to go to war. It wasn't until later in life watching movies like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down (R rated), and many Documentaries on the Military channel (rated for older audiences) that I saw how truly Barbaric war is.

I think that's a problem I have with the education of our youth. They're taught that we fought to free the world, but are sheltered from the grim thing that it is. I know there are a few exceptions to the pictures/media shown, but it wasn't until I saw alot of the bombings and whole cities engulfed in flames, and families left homeless or without Parents/Brothers/Sisters/ect., that I really felt sad.

Funny thing is my Wife thinks I'm for War, because I watch the Military Channel when it's actually made me the opposite. Most of us grew up playing Cops and Robbers, Cowboys and Indians, or Good vs. Evil. Whether in games or on the streets. We've grown up, believeing there's always a reason to fight instead of look for a way to live together. Truth is there is no clear image of what is good and bad. It depends on where you grew up and what you are taught to believe is right or wrong.

Let's face it I'm always right and your always wrong. My family/team/town/state/nation is better then yours. I don't see an end to this, do you? I applaud those of you that will decide with your wallet. I'm still undecided, and will look to reviews that tell whether it's just a tack on, or if it helps flesh out the story. I really enjoyed CoD4's SP and have been looking forward to this one.

Anyway, I'm bored, sorry for the rant. Hope I didn't hurt anyone's head with that deep post. Stick out tongue [:P] lol. Wink [;)]

Ok, I have a massive dilema and the parents (and honorary parents) are just the peeps to help me figure it out.
I had money on L4D2 then moved it to MW2 because I did not want to fall behind on MP, but who am I kidding?  I am going to fall behind.  Now I am considering moving back to L4D2 because I love killin' me some zombies.  Avatar awards are a plus, but not the swing factor.

We will have multiple copies of L4D2, but not until Christmas.  Unless we just cannot wait.  The boy is getting MW2 from his grandpa, but that is his game which will travel back and forth with him.  Han and I have no desire to play MW2.

I can say with certainty I will not be getting MW2.  We still haven't even opened CoD3 or CoD4, so I can't see adding another to the group right now.  I can't say 100% about the Mr., but I don't think he's getting it either.

We will not be getting L4D at launch.  We might not get L4D at all.  I haven't seen much to make me think that it's significantly different from the first and I still haven't finished several of the L4D achievements.  If we ever finish those off, then that game would be a maybe.  I like L4D, but not enough to spend $120 on L4D2.

Well, Seras has put a hold on my game purchases as of the other day so that she will have things to get me for Christmas. Apparently, Assassin's Creed II is coming later this month for my B-day and MW2 will have to wait until Christmas.

Honestly, I want both games but I will not be getting either one at launch. Will be late to the multi-player party for both. But not that big of a deal as I prefer the multi-player style that L4D offered. Otherwise I focus on the campaign play through and co-op if the game has it. Assassins Creed 2 is another game that will wait but I want.
