Ahhhhhh!!!! I can play every other game I own online without a problem, but when it comes to the playtime xbox live i get a message that says one of the current profiles is not allowed to play this game mode. I am a gold member, and i can even play the online career. So whats the deal!!!!!!

I am having the same problem, not sure what to do about it either.  I only have one account on my xbox and one controller activated and I can play the online career fine too.

Go under system on the dashboard and you have to go to family settings, online settings (or something similar), then go to the first selection (it will have to do with blocking/allowing online games on reg. Xbox and 360 games) then if both are allowed, turn them to blocked then unblock them (it worked for me).

Anyone find a solution yet?  Nothing seems to work.  BTW if a friend invites me to play in his room i can play.  I don't understand what the problem is here.   ANYONE???

What is your setup? Most people I see with this issue seem to be using a wireless gaming adapter and wireless router like me. I am going to try the block thing tonight and see if it helps me.

I forwarded those ports last night and it seemed to help some when I am playing online career so people do not just drop from the game but I still have the same issues when doing 'Playtime' looking for races.

I DON'T have a wireless network in my house.  My xbox 360 is hard-wired to my router.  BTW what is the "block thing"?? 

yea thanks guys. But i didnt get enough responses so i called the friendly customer support line. Bunch of idiots. They needed to get 5 consults to figure out my problem when one of u guys figured it out. Oh well at least it's working now. Heres what u do: go to the dash board and go to settings. You need to go into xbox live parental control and turn the section on where it says only let my child play with farmiliar people a.k.a friends. Take that off, and it will let you do playtime.

Hey guys i am having the same issue..  I played that game mode for three months straight then i dont play for sometime and i do a update and now playtime does not work for me.  Im couklsd get invites play online career but no playtime.. Makes no sense.

I have the same problem, just bought 360 elite and PGR3, created the XBL account and signed in and it won't let me play online.

gives this message:
one of the current profiles is not allowed to play this game mode

please help.

Solution:

 

If you do not find any child profiles or if modifying Family Settings does not resolve the issue, move to the Xbox Live section of the Dashboard. To do this, follow these steps:

a.	In the Xbox Live section, sign in to the profile from which you cannot play Project Gotham Racing 3 .
b.	Select the appropriate gamer card at the top of the Xbox Live section, and then press the A button.
c.	In the Gamer Profile area, select Edit Gamer Profile, and then press the A button.
d.	In the Edit Gamer Profile area, select Privacy Settings, and then press the A button.
e.	In the Privacy Settings area, select Yes, and then press the A button.
f.	Make sure that the following options are set to Everyone: • Communications • Online Status • Played Games • Gamer Profile • Member Content

This is definetely a working solutin. You might try to set the settings to blocked and back to everyone.

Try copying your profile to a memory card then erase it from the hard drive, now copy it back to the hard drive from the memory card. Sometimes that will work.

I had this problem too, and it was because there were multiple profiles signed on, so I signed out of them all, and then signed on with just my Live Account, it corrected the issue!

Just had the same problem, I read all the posts below and tried all of them. I went to the family settings and changed everything to allow everyone, this did not work. Later on I switched on my xbox and tried again, this time it worked as it should. I then changed all the settings back to the original positions, PGR3 still works ok.

After altering settings try rebooting machine as this worked for me.

To fix this issue with PGR3 I changed my setting to allow member content. Shut down the xbox, turned it back on and it now works online.
