I think I could possibly get three days of gaming in a row.  My family's myriad of medical issues have stabilized for the most part, my midterm is over, and I won't have guests for the football game until Saturday morning.  *insert dancing banana of glee here*  Who's up for some Halo 3?

Dang.  I would beg you to play Saints Row with me, but we have the kids and I will not play that when they are running around.  BUT, I may be able to hide in the back room and play.

I went full retard?!

Amby - my boy sounds the same - go, go, go!  Two nights ago we had a fantastic full moon, so I brought da kid out to see.  He went nuts and we literally sat there for 2 hours watching the moon.  That is the longest he has ever sat doing anything.

Hopefully all my clients are satisfied today because I'm taking the next 4 days off.  If they want to get ahold of me they'd better get live accounts.

For all you music gamer types, this is a quote from an article on the gamefaq website: "Speaking to investors and analysts following the earnings report, Viacom president and CEO Philippe Dauman said that the Rock Band franchise did not turn a profit during the period."  If you want to read the entire article (it's short), here's the link http://www.gamespot.com/news/6239080.html They mention the sales of The Beatles Rock Band but this is really about the entire Rock Band franchise. I like this franchise as much as Guitar Hero although I don;y play them that much.

On a side note, I know I've invested my fair share in to dlc for these games. Embarrassed [:$]

A good RPG+Shooter combo will do that to you.

On another note, would anyone with Dragon Age fancy writing an independent review for TOG? None of our writers have it and I won't have it until at least Christmas. If any of you are interested, let me know via PM. Thanks.

After much debating with myself, I am sticking with MW2.  I know both are really "can't miss" games.  Final factor was I still want to clean up some achievements in the first L4D.

Diver - A little cyberstalking (friends feed on trueachievements) showed that you finished up Fallout 3.  Congrats!  Are you planning on playing the other 2 DLC for all the points, Dragon Age, or (*hint hint*) Borderlands?

And after much debating with myself I have decided on L4D2. I was planning on both but it is very close to X-Mas and my mom's birthday is coming up on the 7th,plus 2012 is in theaters on the 12th.

I also got to pay off $40 on my copy of L4D2. I guess Modern Warfare will have to wait till the new year.

I am pretty shocked by that.  I am wondering, are the achievements co-op or MP?  If so who from the L4D crowd do you think will actually be playing 1 after the 17th?

I will still be playing L4D1 as well.  I am spending my money on MW2 and, if it comes down to it and I somehow have extra, I will probably save it for Bioshock 2 or get Borderlands.

Interesting that die hard L4Deaders are not interested in getting 2 off the bat.  Perhaps M$ made a mistake paying for an exclusive.

Anyone in here have Tekken? EJ? Zappa? Anyone? I know money is kind of tight right now with Christmas coming along but I just wasn't sure. It's actually quite hard to get back into the groove of Tekken gameplay since SFIV, Garou, VF5, and SC are all so much different. It's a pleasant flashback to the good ol' days though.

I think it was the pull of those L4D achievements that really kept me away from it.  I know I won't finish it off before Christmas (where I hope to get L4D2), but watching the videos at Gametrailers.com has got me more fired up for MW2.  I just won't be a part of any tourneys for it.  Wink [;)]  I'm going to try and purge my mind of the bad taste of CoD4.
The L4D2 demo wasn't bad.  There may be too many special infected now though.  Not to mention the beefed up regulars like the SWAT zombie who you have to shoot from behind.  That dude's a friendly fire magnet.  I like the melee weapons and the addition of more regular weapons.  Still looking forward to trying out the incendiary ammo and what not.
MW2's achievements are all SP or Spec-Ops oriented.  Still no true vs. MP achievements which is good as far as I am concerned.  They're proving to the world (again) that you don't need MP achievements to make a game take residence in the top spot of Live.
No Tekken for me, sorry.

I have Tekken 6 but it is a huge departure from past Tekkens. The main mode of Tekken 6 is called Scenario Campaign. It's like Tekken Force Mode from Tekken 3 with a story mode. Arcade mode in Tekken 6 is not the main mode. When you go into arcade mode all the characters are already unlocked and there are no FMV scenes that tell the fighter's stories like in past Tekkens. In Scenario Campaign mode you can only play as the main character of the story until other fighters are unlocked by beating them as bosses in their respective stages. During the stage where the bosses appear you have to fight random bad guys simultaneously. Defeating them and the bosses yield treasure chest which provide upgrades to your character giving them things such as 11% chance to freeze opponents or increased health meter etc. The funny thing is though the upgrades don't translate over to arcade mode. Your fighter is all decked out in funky attire but it's for no apparent reason. All in all I felt that Tekken 6 was kind of a let down. There have been better Tekkens in the past - Tekken 5 was better in my opinion. The best Tekken for me is Tekken 3 which I still play a lot. Hope this helps. Any more ?'s just let me know.

I have Tekken. I was asking to see if anyone wanted to play. I actually really like it better than five. The scenario is crap but it's basically there in order to get money with which you can purchase items for your characters. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad they did not let the effects of items transfer over to multiplayer and arcade mode. (That ticked me off so bad when they did that in Soul Calibur.)

If it weren't for the lag I would probably play online but I haven't found a game yet that doesn't suffer from lag terribly. At least with my connection anyway. That's why I have a silver instead of a gold live account. I agree with your assessment of the Scenario Campaign but I liked how the upgrades carried over in Soul Calibur. I thought it was a great idea and it actually made the game more fun for me. The problem I have with Scenario Campaign mode basically is "what's the point?" If you're going to be forced to unlock characters and items then they should at least carry over to arcade mode. For me the only reason to play scenario campaign is to unlock the endings of the characters. That should have been accomplished through arcade mode though. I guess that's my biggest complaint, that arcade mode was downgraded so much. It's almost as if the developers just threw it in there because they knew players would be upset without it. I was really hoping for more from Tekken 6 and how it's getting scores of 8.0 and above I just can't fathom. It's a 7.5 at best.
