Diver - A little cyberstalking (friends feed on trueachievements) showed that you finished up Fallout 3.  Congrats!  Are you planning on playing the other 2 DLC for all the points, Dragon Age, or (*hint hint*) Borderlands?

Hehe - I will definitely be coming back to finish up the dlc on Fallout.  There's just too much fun stuff to do.

I am very glad I didn't buy Iron Man - fun game, but just way too short.  Good rental though for all you Marvel fans.

Dragon Age....wow!  Fans of KOTOR - this is a must buy.  I sat down and suddenly 8 hours were gone.  The combat takes awhile to get used to and not as immersive, but the storyline, dialogue, and voice acting - amazing!  I'm most impressed with the conversations you overhear walking through the world along with your party.  I don't think I've finished 10% of the game and just entralled with the level of detail in the realm.  I went with a dwarf commoner fighter/tank for the first playthrough and may roll up another race tonight to check out the other lore.

I will still be playing L4D once 2 comes out.  I still have two expert campaigns to run through and still think it's one of the best MP games out there.

I completely agree. Just as a hint speaking of that…. When you pick up Shale Make absolutely sure to add him to the party right away in town and actually walk out of town with him. What happens just before you enter the world map may be thee most hilarious thing I've seen in a video game.

Speaking of college football, did any of us have a good day today football-wise?  I'm so mixed up that I'm wearing a Michigan football shirt right now.  Hmm [^o)]

I'm not happy ND lost, but I am happy for Navy.  I can't say that about most teams we play, but they truly are a class-act team and they always come to play their hearts out.  They deserved to win and definitely smacked ND around with the running game.  If ND doesn't pull something together pretty quickly, I suspect the games against Pitt and Stanford are going to be very long, ugly games.  I can't even say that UConn isn't a threat.  Tongue Tied [:S]

Woot.
Congrats! I still have yet to endure my last vidmaster challenge. I have a hard time dedicating two full hours to solid gameplay. What with the little one running around all the time and begging for attention. Silly things, we call "children."

On another note: My little monster will be turning one in two days. Her party is tomorrow. I would be lying if I said I wasn't extremely excited to see her open her gifts and slam her face into that cake.

An absolute miserable day.  I really thought this year's Ducks were 'trap game' proof and we would keep the train rolling against Stanford.  Arrggghhh!  It was nice for all the national attention for a week, but now we're just another two-loss team, not in the national mix.  My son's team won his first playoff game 65-0, so that made the sting a bit less.

My Cal lost today Sad [:(] Poor Jahvid, I thought for sure that he had broken his back or something super serious. He hit hard--I hurt just watching it. Cal just seemed to lose all steam after that. I think it hurt the morale a bit.

Sorry, I kind of forgot about both of you guys.  I was posting quickly so I could go shoot people on Vegas 2.  Which in response in Nien's post is where the whole rivalry between Enf and myself started.  For awhile, everytime we met in that game she couldn't kill me.  And I somewhat remember some good nights on Halo 3 against her, among some very ugly nights where I could not do anything.

@Arte, I had my daughter's first B-day party yesterday.  It went off without any of the other kids from my wife's church going crazy and no crying.  Also, my two nieces and two nephews were there but they were all more helpful since my family has a tradition of having the kids hand out gifts at Christmas like Santa Claus.  So, they were all bringing gifts to me for my daughter(wife) to open.  Good luck with you partyBig Smile [:D]

I can't help but get the impression here that some forget G.R.A.W/ Vegas is not the series but Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six is.

Thanks. I'm sure it will go fine. I'm not sure how many people are coming. I put an open invitation out at work and told people that presents were not necessary but chips, soda, etc. would be cool. Hopefully everything goes well and we all have fun.

I had a great weekend. I'm trying to knock out some Halo achievements before our next little one comes along. I played Firefight for the first time in 4 player coop and boy, talk about a blast.

Am I the only one not getting MW:2 tomorrow (or possibly ever)? We had an unexpected expense come up (stupid cat), and between that and the second boy coming in 6 weeks, my disposable income is shot.

4 player Firefight is about as good as it gets.  I would argue it is better than Horde.

I'm getting MW2, but you are not alone in passing on it.  As good of a game as it might be, it'll be next to impossible for it to beat Borderlands in my eyes.

I am not getting it either for a variety of reasons...but I can relate to the disposable income issue; that certainly is a factor.

It is not always easy to pass on these things, but big props for realizing that it is not in your budget.  I used to work at a Game Crazy and let me tell you I saw and heard many people who could not afford things but charged it anyways.

If any title has the chance to buck the trend its MW:2, but my thinking is if I don't get it now, I probably never will. I don't have the time or the inclination to keep moving on to the next great thing at the rate of triple A releases these days, so I usually stay committed to a handful of titles while most of the people on my list with more time on their hands move around. If I do ever get around to getting it, it will be just in time for IW to release MW:3.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in anything non-MW:2 related tomorrow evening Eastern timezone, shoot me a friend request. I am addicted to Firefight, but I would love to play some ranked Halo matches or Gears as well.

@Nien - having a non-gaming spouse helps in this regard. I'm pretty good about my spending, but any time I get out of line, she gives me a gentle nudge with a claw hammer. For me the hard part isn't the money, its seeing the majority of your friends list in the latest release while you're still playing PDZ.

Of course you would, traitor...you traded in Gears of War 2.  You have to rationalize that it is better.  I have not yet had the joy of 4 player Firefight, but I have noticed that ODST does not seem to have any sort of staying power with my Friends List...no one is playing it.  Is this what everyone else is seeing, or doe smy FL just have extreme ADD?

Someone I was playing with said the exact same thing re: staying power. That's why I'm reluctant to buy it, as much of a Halo fanboy that I am.

Most of my friends list, comprised mostly of single or married without children people, have extreme ADD - either with other games or other consoles. I totally feel your pain.

I have a non-gaming spouse as well and that helps for sure.  I also felt some malaise, moving from one game to another.  It is the law of diminishing returns.  My background in gaming is PC, the console culture of "buy the latest and greatest, enjoy for a few weeks and look forward to the next" wears on me a bit.  I got caught up in it two years ago and I try hard not to fall into it now, but it gets hard sometimes.

I have far too many underloved games and when I get pangs ( as I did last week with the MW2 trade in deal at GAmeStop) all I have to do is look at the stack of games to be played and my schedule and say I have no time for the games I have....why should I get another.

BTW congrats on the upcoming addition.  That is the best release date ever IMO.

Ditto for me on Saturday. I think I got 6 hours or so in. My kids seriously took about a 3 hour nap on Saturday (which they hardly do). I spent the afternoon with Dragon Age and then played for another 3 hours or so after they went to bed for the evening. This game is video game crack, lol.

Thanks. Excited and terrified at the same time. Having a 2 year old keeps us moving as it is!

I have 6 games still in their wrappers. I jumped on the BB sale a couple of weeks ago (buy 2 get 1 free) and grabbed the Capcom 3 Pack (Hadn't played any of them - Dead Rising, Devil May Cry 4, and Lost Planet Colonies), along with RE5 and Fable 2. Couldn't resist those 5 for the price of 1 really. As if that isn't enough, Jericho and Infinite Undiscovery are still wrapped.

Throw in the others I haven't finished and there's no legitimate reason for getting the next thing except pressure to keep up with the joneses!

Well, back to work. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon!

Nien - I know I'll miss Gears 2.  In fact, it stung a little to see 3x exp for a full week.  Still, Borderlands was/is worth it.
OG - All that CAPCOM love makes me smile!  All 4 games are awesome.  I loved RE5, Dead Rising, and DMC3 was great, even if it was tight with handing out achievements.  You've got many hours ahead of you of quality gaming with or without new releases.  I picked up 3 games recently as well for under $20 and I'll be playing those (with MW2 and Borderlands) until Christmas at least.

Hey guys I never really get to look at the forums now, my xbox gets used more for watching spongebob and sesame street than fragging fools.  But anyway I'm on a growth plan for work so hopefully a promotion and a bump in pay will be coming my way soon it really makes all the hours away from home worth it.  I'm looking forward to getting MW2 and hopefully will be able to jump into some games soon.  It's good to see most of the crowd still hanging out.

Good luck man! I am in the same boat right now. I'm hoping I get bumped up to the marketing team. It's a great job, great hours, great benefits, and the pay is not shabby at all. I will have my fingers crossed for both of us!

Edit: On another note, today is my little monster's birthday! Her party was last night and it was great. She wanted to feed me her cake and I hate cake. Hahaha. I think Seras will have pictures up sometime soon. She got this little stuffed animal name "Scout." He can be programmed on the computer to say her name and all of that jazz which is cool. Unfortunately, "Cybil" is not in its vocabulary so it just calls her "little monkey," which she loves. Oh yeah... and I HATE wonder pets. I want to strangle her grandparents for getting her that stupid DVD.

Actually, we've just kind of given him the nickname "Freckles"  It's really an "FYF" and "reckless", but whenever I looked at it, I always thought it said "Freckles".  It's kind of stuck, I suppose.
