**WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery

Once inside, if you assemble all the posts into the elevator wheel, but warp or leave before you actually turn the wheel - you're done. One of the posts will vanish off of the wheel, never to be found again.

The only reason I am putting this as a new post is because I went though tons of pages here, and had to dig to find a reference to this glitch. Since the answer I found was "start over, or wait for a patch" I thought I would give the next poor guy a better chance at knowing this would happen before he went in there.

Yes.. The Brewery. That is why I am digging through these forums. I found all the posts and was then notified that I could access the elevator ( I am assuming that is what opens when you spin the completed wheel.) I got turned around and walked out the door. I came right back in, and now I am missing a post for the wheel, and I am assuming since I have combed it 5-6 times to make dang sure, and the fact that now I see others having the same issue... I am screwed. I am really not happy that there is not a fix for this.

I returned my copy to Gamefly after I hit that very same glitch.

I got the glitch as well and it is very frustrating.

What I do not understand is why they have not put up a sticky for this glitch?

Seriously, this is a GAME STOPPING GLITCH. To have to dig around the search function to find the glitch is ridicuolous.

"Whew"Idea [I]

I thought for some reason I would be ripped to bits for such a post. I am glad to have some back-up on this. Other than this glitch I have found the game very entertaining.

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery

Got this info from the codemaster forums.......

This is an interim workaround in lieu of any patch at the present time. I will update the forum when and if an Xbox 360 patch is announced.

---

There is no workaround once the bug has been triggered and saved, unless you have an Autosave slot with a save from an earlier part of the game.

However, you can avoid triggering the bug by:
1) When you find the first spoke have a minion pick it up, carry it to the wheel and attach it.
2) Only pick-up the second spoke if you have enough minions available (>12 in your horde, or in a Minion gate) to turn the wheel
3) When you have attached the second spoke, ensure that you turn the wheel fully before leaving the level.

If for some reason this is impossible (e.g. you have totally run out of minions) use the 'Change Autosave Slot' option in the pause menu at the start of The Brewery to keep the game progress up to this point stored in a different slot.

The save game in this slot can be opened again later from the Load Game option in the main menu.

This use of ‘Change Autosave Slot’ is also a useful way to allow you save ‘checkpoints’ that you can return to at another time.

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery

Again from Codemasters Forums...

“I and many of the team are avidly reading posts on this and other forums. So, I wanted to answer some of the points which have been raised recently and to clarify some information in the earlier post regarding the PC patch.

PC Patch 1.1:

-The PC fix we have made DOES allow you to continue with your previous saved game if you were one of the people who were unfortunate enough to hit the Brewery Missing Wheel Spoke progress issue.

-The Uninstall issue ONLY affects the directory to which you installed the game (i.e. Overlord.exe). If you installed the game to the default directory, or changed it to a new / empty directory then you will not notice any difference

Xbox 360 Update:

-I made the decision to release the PC Patch – including the Brewery progress issue – as quickly as possible as I wanted to ensure we helped as many players as possible as quickly as possible. Exactly this same thinking applies to the Xbox 360, although the challenges for us implementing, testing and releasing any fix are different.

-We are *actively* working on investigating & resolving issues that people have reported on the Xbox 360

-The challenges on the Xbox 360 are very different to PC, meaning that fixes can be more time consuming to make, take more time to test, and more time to make available to you

-I can’t give you a release date, but can assure you we’re aiming to get a comprehensive update out as soon as possible. I should have more information at the end of next week.

-We are hoping that our fix to the Brewery Spoke will mean you can continue playing from that save

Progress Issues:

-We are aware of one, and only one, potential progress issue within the game – the Brewery missing wheel spoke.

-The brewery progress issue will *only* affect you if you fix the wheel and then leave the level without turning it. Our data suggests this does not affect / has not affected the majority of players – and we of course wish it had affected no-one.

-We have had reports of minor issues elsewhere in the game, however none of these prevent progression.

-The best place to ensure that these issues reach us is to email / otherwise contact customer services.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope it answers some of your questions, and alleviates any concern that we might leave you “out to dry”. We’re really proud of Overlord, and hope you’ll continue to enjoy playing it

First of all, please tell me you recognized the connection between my post and the OP's name.

Secondly, obviously I knew that it was the wrong forums, fool. If someone were to stop and think for two seconds... I mean after assembling a wheel, what reason on God's green earth would you have not to turn it? That's stupid, I think. While I guess it's nice the guy pointed it out.. there really shouldn't be a single person that accidentally falls into the glitch.

So. Bite me. :)

Actually it's easy to do. I was running low on health & returned to the tower to reheal. I came back & it was gone. Another reason not to turn it might be that someone has to leave & do something and decided not to start a new section. Didn't think of that, did you?Stick out tongue [:P]

Yes, it's somewhere halfway in the Golden Hills, the Dwarf Country. I think it's the fourth destination most people go to, after the Mellow Hills, Evernight and Heaven's Peak.

Yes, I did. Those circumstances fall under the category of, "You're stupid for not turning the wheel. Build a wheel, turn a wheel."

So, stop trying to make me sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, and I'll stop investing anymore effort in this useless argument.

You misunderstand, man. I'm serious when I say that it was nice of you to point that out. I just don't see the default mental process of someone that falls into that glitch to be to leave the area.

Sorry for the miscommunication :P

I hear ya man.. Its all good. The deal is, when you get the last post you are clear across the brewery and off goes your minion carrying the post to the wheel. Meanwhile you have a few straggling dwarfs attacking you. Its kind of a maze, so you start trying to backtrack to the wheel. Then (if I remember correctly) you pass the warp, and even walk past the entrance before you can even see the wheel.

Just to try and give you a visual.

And staying with the flow of the game, you kinda learn that when given the opportunity to recharge-you recharge(or at least I do). It never dawned on me that the post would vanish. So, I realize we do not have to agree on this, but I thought I would try to explain where my thought process is.

Ahhh... I see the problem. I need to log on to Live to have this game show up on my profile. Maybe I just got lucky when I was at that part. But ah well.

Posting mainly to keep this bumped (topic should be a sticky)... anyway...

I can see why someone who did not get the glitch would have trouble seeing how someone else could run into the bug. However, there are a number of reason someone might want to leave the area before turning the wheel. I left the area because I wanted to reset some stuck minions and got glitched. Someone else wrote how they went to play another game before continuing, others wanted to "heal up" and I am sure there are others. If you do not know one of the spokes is going to disappear (unless it is turned), there is nothing wrong with any of these reasons. On the other hand, if you know one of the spokes will disappear (if not turned), then leaving the area appears really stupid. Obviously, the people who got glitched had no idea what was about to happen. There is nothing in the game that makes it imperative that you must turn any of the wheels, as soon as they are assemble. It is just a stupid glitch in the code.

exactly. If I had known a glitch would occur if I left, I obviously wouldn't have left.

With wheels it doesn't matter. You can have 1 minion turn a 12 minion wheel, it will just take a god-awfully long time.

What is aggravating about this glitch is that it has been almost two weeks since Codemasters made any kind of announcement about a patch to fix it on the 360 but has released TWO patches for the PC version.
