Pressing A needs a timeout!!!

I find so many games were people just fall asleep and don't hit A to continue.  It should have a 10 second timeout.  How do Dev's leave out the little stuff like this, don't they test at all?

Its very frustrating!!

Good. This is a problem.

It's sad that so many people on Live are so dumb that they can't figure out they need to hit A.

Its a 90 second timer, if you don't press "A" within a certain period, a 60 second countdown appears.

Re: Pressing A needs a timeout!!!

What we really need to hear is that quitters in Ranked matches will get a loss and that the person who stayed will get an automatic win.

Oh and the host needs to be able to change maps/modes without having to remake the room.

Did I read this right? 60/90 second timeout on pressing A?

What is wrong with either letting the host set a confirm time or making it like 10 seconds max?? Over a minute on each screen where people have the opportunity to slow things down would definitely make me just stop hosting a room and find something else to play for a while.

I really question who is in charge of Hudson's play testing. I'd bet good money it's someone who likes to try keeping everyone happy instead of being effective at their job-- or only has a background in java apps for cell phones.

Re: SV: Re: Pressing A needs a timeout!!!
No kidding. I hate to sound persnickety, and I know I do.

I just see Bomberman Live as somewhat of an icon on XBL. It is apparently the only domestically coded game up there, so my expectations are high that it work properly, and utilize some wisdom folks in the industry have gained from nearly 20 years of games being both online and multiplayer.

For example, aside from three releases on xbox live arcade, I've not seen an online game EVER not show who's speaking in voice chat. Even later modifications of the quake source would allow for the display of gamertags when they hit their microphone switch. Counter-strike, etc. How many years have we all known that sort of thing is critical to a room remaining civil? Over a decade!

The same goes for this A button business. If they even played the game in-house, there had to be a time when someone had to take a leak while others were playing. Thus resulting in someone having to get the controller and press A for them. I mean, it's simply ludicrous that such an obvious thing would ever get missed.

Partially, I blame Microsoft. After looking into how much their in your business with game design and such for Arcade releases, it seems they should have measures in place to ensure the gaming experience in online play is as smooth as possible. The very basics of this are being able to identify and mute grief talkers quickly, instead of sacrificing game time systematically muting 8 people until the problem goes away-- or being the host and forced to wait for some buttface who won't press A because he wants to make the room listen to him sing us a few more bars of some Cher song at the end of a round.
