Motion Sickness topic

ATTN: This game contains scenes of Motion SIckness.

Due to the number of people complaining of motion sickness I wanted to make this topic to see how many people here are having some motion sickness after playing this game.

I for one have not downloaded the trial yet and plan to.. I am worried about me stomach. go stomach! Stay strong!

I played the demo for half an hour and had to lie down for 10 mins.

I really enjoyed the demo, but this is what's putting me off.Sad [:(]

A video game has never given me motion sickness.

Today is a first - I had to cut the game off, after about 7 minutes. My stomach was queazy, and I was dizzy for about 5 minutes afterwards.

I don't get motion sickness from this game at all, even with the weapon bobbing on.
The only games that gave me motion sickness was harvest moon save the homeland, and gow from the roadie run.

I don't see why everyone sees this as a bad thing. Think of marathon as a drinking game. Get a bunch of friends together for an online match with no time limit and the last one to hurl is the winner. Problem solved.

I'm quoting my original post because the edit time ran out.

Don't get me wrong, what I did play was really fun. But the woozy feeling is kinda hard to ignore, and after a few minutes, is just to overpowering. Maybe I should pop a dramamine, then give it another go.

Yep... I've been playing games for 17 years now and not once have I ever gotten sick from a game. That all changed today. I've played Doom for more hours than I can count and never even felt a bit sick. FPS being my faovrite genre too... I have no idea what the problem is. Tried it with camera bob on and off, sensitivity upand down, and it's just entirely unplayable to me. Kind of glad to see other people feel the same way. I was geting worried. Sucks, I was really excited about it being released on the arcade too. :( Definetly be weary and try the demo before spending the points on it. Even if you never gotten motion sickness from a game before, it can happen with this game like several people in this thread have confirmed.

Yeah, I've been getting motion sickness after playing for extended periods of time. Strangely enough, though, it only happens when I'm playing Campaign...Never on Deathmatch...

I don't want to set the world on fire...Or maybe I do...

I just rested for an hour and it went away. However, it was painful. I really hope that Freeverse releases an update to slow down the frame-rate. It's intensely high right now.
Say goodnight.

Oddly enough, same here. Just played like an hour straight of deathmatch and not a problem... back to campaign and dizzy and nasueated again within 30 seconds... I don't get it. I wonder if it isn't some kind of problem that's faster than our eyes can catch but is still registering and causing sickness. Who knows, I'm just really curious to as to why this is the only time it's ever happened and is just fine online with the same exact settings.

I think, maybe, it's because Campaign forces us to take more twists and turns than in Deathmatch.

Re: Motion Sickness topic

I played this morning before work and got sick.  Played again on my lunch break (work close to home) and got sick.  Played again after work and got sick...again.  I quit about an hour ago and I still have a bit of a headache from it.

I'll try turning the bob off and see if that helps.  Multiplayer doesn't seem quite as bad as the campaign does...which is a plus.  Was this an issue when people were playing on the Mac or is it just a port issue?

When I played this game on the PC, I never got any motion sickness at all.
