All of your who are so excited about being able to play arcade games again, consider this...this problem has not been fixed. Merely patched.
.
Try to redownload something that is no longer available on XBLM. Say...the GOW Emergence Day theme and gamerpic. Or maybe that limited time only Halo 3 theme? See it in your download history? No? Well, then you realize that MS hasn't really fixed the problem but merely patched it over. They've done enough so that people talk about it to the point that it's again relegated the most vocal to the minority (those still realizing that the DRM is very restrictive and has not been "fixed" in any way) and they can continue to say that "only a small percentage of gamers are affected."
.
Oh well, I've pretty much given up in this fight. I do like the idea voiced a few pages back about contacting the developers who are supposed to be "protected" by these crazy DRM policies anyway.
.
Just don't give up the fight guys. Continue to fight for the rest (the "voluntary upgraders" and others who continue to be screwed) of those who haven't had as much luck with the system as you.
.
and for those of you praising OXM's part in this whole thing...HA! The first time they mentioned the DRM fiasco was Jan 07 when they ridiculed a reader (Serial Killer) who pointed out to them the whole situation. They called it "hogwash" until they investigated and then printed an apology 3 months later. They are merely a PR shill for MS. Not some "voice of truth" or whatever. Don't be fooled. You can be sure that if Dan OXM is posting here, that it is a carefully plotted PR move that would not be allowed unless it serves some ulterior motive. They may have a true fix coming someday, but you can be sure this ULTRA slow "license transfer" BS is NOT it.
