SInce there is so much mixed reaction about this game I thought I would make a thread so everyone can vote whether they like it or not. You don't have to put why, just an "I love it" or "I hate it" is good enough. I like it (I guess). I have only played the demo, but I liked the simplicity of it and the amount of modes.
I think it's very good.
Granted, perhaps EA should've kept the Wing Commander title off, and yes it does take a little time to get used to, but it is more-ish. Going to brush-up on my skills and then go battle online!!
In my opinion (and my opinion only) this may be a case akin to Pac Man Championship Edition where intial views aren't great but once you tuck-in to it its a much different story!!
Only my two cents.......

Agreed
This isn't a First Person Shooter, though. You don't even get a cockpit view, just a closeup of the ship. I'd love a fully 3d space sim on Live, though.
I think it's the sort of game XBLA was designed for. It's simple, very playable and allows multiplayer battles. You can't imagine it being released as a ful price game, but for $10 it's ideal. It's not too complicated, but you can learn tactics as you go. It's like Zaxxon mixed with Asteroids.
I'm looking forward to some fun LIVE matches.
I tried it and I'm never buying it!

Thats me! lol, yeah its just I have paid for, and demod alot for XBLA titles, played them all come to think of it but paid for 45, liked all the ones I paid for and when I compared this title, in terms of value vs gameplay vs fun it just didnt cut the mustard with other games from the same cost bracket, stuff like Bomberman, Worms, Catan, Carsononne, Alien Hominid, Boom Boom, Castlevania, Doom, Eets, Pacman C.E Prince of Persia, Small Arms, Texas Hold Em and Zuma, I played the Meteriod Storm mode earlier, didnt hate it, I think I wouldnt have been so bothered if it was 400 MS, I think they knew it should have been that much but were using the 16 player angle to goad people into a purchase.
I like it,
I can understand the views of people who were wanting a 3D space shooter, but as far as I am aware EA always made it clear that it was a 2D shooter, though I do hope they bring out an authentic multiplayer space sim at some point
I do think there are some improvements that could have been made however:
1) A proper single player story mode
2) More detailed in game help e.g. what are the devices and what icons are they, and what is needed to unlock each ship
3) Letting you know what type of game you are joining in multiplayer quick match
4) Rather than having variants of the same ship in each class why not instead have different ships from the same/similar class from different eras if possible e.g for light fighter start off with the hornet (WC1), then unlock the arrow (WC3) and finally the Piranha (WC Prophecy). I suspect that additional ships may be future DLC for WCA
I played the demo for about 10-15 minutes and I thought it was pretty fun. I even tried the asterioid mode. I am not sure what people were expecting from an arcade game but I enjoyed it.
My question is if I buy this game will I actually be lucky enough to see 16 people in a room??

Yes although its seems everybody likes to play that stupid bear pit mode. My first game online was a 14 person Capital Ship game and it was hella fun.
And yes ppl are expecting WAY to much from a $10 arcade game. This game will definatly tide me over till Undertow comes out.

Maybe the manual can help you. Check http://images.ea.com/ea/arcade/draft2cRGB.pdf
I like it more after changing my view point to the closest chase view right behind my ship, (B button)...
