Oh and a big congratulations to the Kelly boys in Adelaide! No cheating either Tripl8, lowndesy did all the mistakes yourself, hehehehehhehehehe! ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Yes I have to agree that Lowndesy made a couple of his own mistakes this year but considering that he and Jamie were the only drivers not to be supplied with coolsuits by their team, I was suprised that they finished the race at all. Jamie almost fell over when he got out of the car on Saturday and had to be held up by someone from his team. Lowndes did manage to come from 23rd to 13th in the last half of race 2 though which was a champion effort.
As for the Kelly boys it looked like Todd had agreed to let Rick win race two because his little brother was copping alot of flak for not winning any races at all last year but still ending up the dirtiest champion in the history of the sport. I was sitting next to a Todd fan who was less than impressed when Todd blatently let Rick through in the first half of the race. After the last pitstop he was a bit happier as Todd was back in front but when he let Rick through again after his convenient braking 'error' he was not a happy spectator.
Some would say it was cheating, some would say team tactics, (even though they are supposed to be in different teams it is still Tom's four cars sharing their data against everyone elses two cars). Some would say it's just plain old brotherly love. Perhaps Todd was just worried that Rick would punt him off by 'mistake' and thought it was best to let him get in front..
I felt like my favourite sport was looking more and more like the political mess of team tactics that made formula one suck so much. Thanks Holden for letting Tom back in the door.
As for the Ford fans our hopes fell on James Courtney to catch and pass the two Kelly brothers but he was too busy getting bumped in corners by his own team mate. Nice one Russell you a$$hole.
On the plus side I was glad to see that the Team Vodafone cars are not red but more of a flouro orange. They look more red on TV than in person. HRT which also stands for Hormone Replacement Therapy actually delayed their launch so they could repaint their cars in exactly the same colour as Team Vodafone in an attempt to make the Ford cars look red. Pretty sad really.
Sorry for the long post that should probably be on a V8 forum, ( although xbox 360 is now the official console of the V8 Supercar series ), but you pushed the blue and red buttons together again Duck and it sends me right up passed the rev limiter.
Oh, and the new VE looks like a BMW or a DTM racecar and is actually not a VE at all. The VE roadcar was too big to turn into a racer and so Holden have used the VY chassis and put smaller VE looking body panels on it. Aerodynamically it looks like it's going to win at every track it's on, but thats what you get when you let Tom Walkinshaw design your new car. Bugger.
