Ok I guess I should have put on max armor instead of my standard online no armor. Is it possible to change without losing progress?

And how come I can't select shield?

Uh...not sure on that one. Been a while and I can't remember if you have to unlock the shield in that one.

As I recall you had to pick up the shield somewhere in the SP game in order to use it here... Also, as I recall, it equips differently... As a weapon or something. It was not intuitive.

Re: Splitscreen Terrorist Achievements:
No, it equips the same was as it does in Vegas 2, just remember that you have 2 primary weapon slots in Vegas 2 as opposed to the 1 primary weapon slot that you have available in Rainbow Six Vegas.  A shield, in either game, has always taken up a primary weapon slot. The difference is that in Vegas 1 it took up your ONLY primary weapon slot, something that they corrected in Vegas 2 by giving you a second primary weapon slot.

As for having to pick up the shield in the story to unlock it in the game;  you're right.

"Shield:
This is a special weapon found first in Act 2 "Calypso casino" on the strip or
in the Act 3 "Red Lotus" during the ascent to the Mafia house. With it
equipped, you use only your handgun to fight, but you are protected from the
front from gunfire. Ducking will make you harder to hit, since your legs can
be hit when you are standing. When holding the shield, you cannot rappel,
climb, or hide against walls or obstacles. You also walk a whole lot slower
than non-shield using players."

And there you have it.

Also, I think you need to get to at least a checkpoint with it (I don't think you had to finish the level, but maybe). Anyway, it was something slightly more complicated than just picking it up as I recall.

Re: Splitscreen Terrorist Achievements:
This game just pwned me.. Just played for a couple of days Split-Screen.. played by myself and used both controllers. Moving each guy separately. Setting up with the shield and pistol.. took painfully too long to beat them all. Then no achievement!! YAY! That was so much fun.. I can't wait to do it all by myself! HAHA.. NOT HAPPENING. Thanks for patching the Countdown level glitch but not patching the achievements... WTF.

Enter the library, climb up to the second floor and work your way around clockwise. When you reach the second set of stairs, on the right side of the building, keep to the left and keep going around the corridor. One guy in pretty much guaranteed to be in the large yellow room, take him out. Then all the remaining Terrorists should zero in on you. Just stay in the corner near the stairs, and watch for their approach.

It should be that nobody will see / shoot you from the blocked-off room, or beyond, so don't worry about that.
Now before any smartass points out that this post is two and a half years old, I know, but I've been messing around with this achievement for longer than that!  I finally decided that as I'm off work for a few weeks due to having had an operation, I had to get the Research Labs, the Library and the Dam knocked off.

I've tried the damn Library god knows how many times and always got shot in the back at some point, but following the tips above I cracked it in just two attempts!  The Research Labs only took three attempts too, with HB's tips early in this thread.

So a very belated thanks chaps, only the Dam to go!  (any tips?Big Smile [:D]

Cheers,

You do know that the so called "split-screen" achievements are a typo don't you, and that you have to do them in single player mode?  That's kinda the whole point of this old but worthy thread.  There are two cheevos for T-Hunt in co-op and two for single player, non for split-screen.

If you read his post carefully you'll see that he already found that out but isn't going to go through the hassle of doing it all again by himself ;)
